Ikr? Like c'mon someone smart enough (not me) could develop a way to make this on a much bigger scale and market it as aviable and "greener" option to make papers.
wtf are you talking about? the reason deforestation exist is to use the land where the trees used to be, mainly for producing food. the only viable way to do that is castration in poor countries. besides paper actually acumulates carbon outside of the atmosphere. using (saving, not trowing away) wood or paper is actually good for the enviroment. deforestation is only bad when not replaced by new trees
@@johndawson6057 That have. It is called using 1 tree to make thousands and thousands of sheets of better paper. You think using grass is "greener"? Think of the fuel, and electricity, and time, and shipping, and all the equipment involved in transporting and processing that much grass vs 1 tree. There's being innovative, and then there is just being naïve and ignorant.
This was literally what i was thinking of because we made paper from grass clippings before but we did use some chemical (i think it was bleach to whiten the paper). And now im frustrated knowing this and watching her fail to create a writing medium. Actually it frustrates me more knowing that she could invent paper and a printing press which would solve the whole lack of books.
I soaked it over night and boiled it for about 5 hours. Just make sure to cut the grass into short pieces before! Otherwise it will get stuck in the blender.
Hi, this is really lovely. How many days did it take to dry - was it left to dry naturally or did you have a fan blowing at it? Thank you for any help.
Just everything that has cellulose in its structure will be a good choice. Of course, some parts of plants are more suited to become paper, some are less. Some species of plants are better suited for becoming a sheet of paper, some are not. My advice? Improvise, read about it through the internet, try different plants in different conditions ;)
Did you put anything on the mixture for it to be able to hold all fiber and as a result it will not break... We're also making paper out of cow manure fiber for our investigatory project... Thanks a lot in advance

I don't know… just grass that I found. You could experiment with different sorts of plants and explore how their fibres affect the quality of the paper!
You can use all sorts of plant fibres. They have different properties, for instance the length of the fibres or chemical properties. This makes some better suitable for paper than others. I am not an expert here, so I would recommend to explore traditional paper manufacturing to learn more. And yes, in my case it took hours of boiling to break down the fibres so I could use them. But be creative and I am sure you will find other more elegant ways!
You're not even explaining what you're doing I have no idea how long you boiled this how much water you've used how much time it took you don't explain nothing
a meditation to watch, I would like to see the result of a drawing on this paper
Dr. stone brought me here
cause i thought it seemed very interesting 😂
Same
Now how to make it into carbon fiber 🤣
Oh my ur not alone xD
same
Yup yup
Admit it: you are here after episode 5 of Dr. Stone.
Nice... it could be a lot better video if you add some description... great video...
Thank you for a very informative yet short video. Extremely useful, keep it up. This is a video I will always refer to.
Dude has a viable plan to save every tree in the world.

besides, the use of fuel/electricity to heat the thing already is a lot more contaminating than just using paper

I think you should put up the whole process of making it finer because that would help us a lot :).
Loved it!
Thank u so much sharing this knowledge
Do you add washing soda when you boil the grass?
Great...! Thanks for sharing. Big hug from Brazil :)
I subscribed ur channel only bcoz of this real and amazing video
Wonderful!! Have you ever tried with rice??
A heart was formed 0:30 ❤😊
The framed screen, did you buy it or made it yourself? Great video :)
Nutmeg Tavern brought me here.
I thank you both!
Can you make this with fallen leave as well?
I think you can just rub a cloth on the bottom when its still wet and it will pop out so you can do multiple at a time.
Can I use hot water instead of boiling it?
Monsieur tous mons felicitations!
Can I use grass from my cut lawn as well
does it bleed with ink?
so how many mins should I cook the grass?
Ascendance of a bookworm brought me here apparently you could make paper out of grass

Omg 🙃🙃😱😱🤯🤠🤠🤠🤓🤓🤓it worked 👍👍👍👍👍🥺 thankyou sooooo much
What kind of frame you used to dry out of that grass to become a paper?
Its called a mould and deckle, the mould being the bottom piece and the deckle being the top piece.
What are the measurements?
How long did you soak the grass in water?
How long did you boil it?
I soaked it over night and boiled it for about 5 hours. Just make sure to cut the grass into short pieces before! Otherwise it will get stuck in the blender.
lol at 1:45 it looks just like my green smoothies lol...
Did you add any binding agent? If yes, what binding agent you've used?
You could use some sort of glue. I didn't in that case, but just try some out!
@@ralphammer2 you can actually make a natural glue of flour and water
You can make the glue last longer with vinegar
Just in case you didn't know
@@Bleepbleepblorbus I bet you can dye the paper white at the same time with that glue
Now to make some natural glue and a lot of grass paper
Then to glue the grass paper together to make an artificial biodegradable wood

probably like 2 - 4 hours, depending on the day
This is nice but paper fiber need more whitening on sun.
I wonder if there's a strain of grass that has less chlorophyll, or generally just less green pigment
you can add peroxide to the mix
1:39 vegan smoothy
Magic
Can i ask if u can write on it? And how did you make the surface really smooth... I've been struggling at it
By pressing it
How long did you boil the grass?
5 hours, he says this in someone else's comment
What type of grass did you use? Will any kind of grass do?

Daniel Michalski is banana peels and orange peels can be also used in making paper?
After the blender thing what is that solution you combined it with is it just water I hope someone replies ty
It is just water. You can add a little glue if you like.

I think the water from boiling, once cooled, would be a good thing for your balcony plants rather than your drain.🌿
No, you don't think or you wouldn't have said that.
Why not just use the plant like they do rather than adding stuff
should be titled *watch* me make grass paper, without showing you crucial info like how you know its boiled "enough" lol
