  • Inserts with High Helical Cutting Edge For High Metal Removal Rates.
The HELITURN LD family consists of WNMX ...-HTW, CNMX ...-HTW and DNMX...-HT inserts that are produced from the most advanced SUMO TEC grades. These inserts are designed with very positive radial helical cutting edges and positive rake angles a combination which substantially reduces the cutting forces and facilitates higher productivity. The CNMX and WNMX insert corners are equipped with a wiper configuration which produces high surface finish, even at high feeds. In many cases the surface finish is sufficient for eliminating a finishing cut.
HELITURN LD inserts were designed for heavy machining applications. Their unique design ensures reliable, Fast Metal Removal. CNMX and WNMX inserts require special tools with appropriate seats. DNMX inserts can be mounted on standard tools.

I've used the Iscar high-helical on a Mazak QT-20. With the right feed-rated, the finish is outstanding. The hard part is getting the old-time shop foreman to actually read the packaging and not just use the same feed rate he's always used (or pull one out of his a##).

we use the 3P Sumo Tec inserts and go like 5 times faster than that
Great tools. We had some ceramic inserts or whatever and they broke so often it wasn't make us any money. Popped one of these in and haven't broken one yet and reduced our cycle times by at least a full minute

I actually used the 3P Sumo Tec ISO inserts for a while and they have performed better in both productivity and surface finish than any other inserts I've used from Iscar.

thats pretty vague question, when you say 3 types of inserts, it leaves countless interpretations, Rough, Semi-finish and finish, or Turning inserts, Milling inserts or Grooving inserts, Grades of inserts, what grades for steel, SS and high temps,
if you're still looking for an answer please let us know
