Thank you, everyone. After many requests I decided to make this a downloadable album on my Bandcamp page at robertrich.bandcamp: robertrich.bandcamp.com/album/foothills-robert-rich-live-on-kfjc-28-may-2014
Robert I love the world you created, so I'm not leaving. We shall remain here. May to have more of your music sun energy for us to live forever in your planet Sir Rich......Thanks
This guy is so awesome. I just love his stuff. I write science fiction poetry while I listen to it. Sometimes I just let it play in background of my day. I think he's my favorite of all the space ambience musicians. Thanks for posting. And I like the "dude in a basement" look of this video, too. :)
I listened to Robert Rich from their albums Numena, Geometry, Bellow zero, et.al., and always surprises me by his inspiration and talent. This is a really good performance!!
Been listening to your music since my early 20's. Never gets old and you always find a way to keep it fluid and enchanting. Thanks for sharing your work with us all these years.
Robert, your music is so incredible, hypnotic, moving, powerful and I could use a million other adjectives to describe it! Your ethereal sound is something I've never experienced from music before. Are you having any upcoming concerts? I live in Los Angeles and I'd love to hear your fantastic music in person! Thanks!
In case anyone has a computer at home and you'd like to hear this kind of music live over the internet, you can turn to these 2 stations as well. WPRB (103.3) out of Princeton University in Princeton NJ. Look for "Music With Space" with Mike Hunter Friday night - Saturday morning from 12am - 3am Eastern U.S. time zone (same as New York or Boston). Mike Hunter also performs music like this. His name is Ombient. Sometimes he may start his show at 10PM but he's always on by 12am. WXPN (88.5) out of The University Of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia Pa. Look for "Stars End" with Chuck Van Zyl Saturday night - Sunday morning from 1am - 6am eastern U.S. time zone. Chuck Van Zyl has been performing for more than 20 years himself. He used to be part of the "Nightcrawlers", then he performed as part of "The Ministry Of Inside Things", now he performs as himself. There may also be a number of other "college radio" stations all over the U.S. that play this kind of music. I don't have a computer at home so I don't know.
You inspired me into the ambient/new age direction. I truly believe this is the music of the future. "Revilot" is in the making. My dream is to do a laser light show with you ...David Helpling , Thom Brennan ,Jon Jenkins , Patrick O'Hearn , Boards of Canada and Steve Roach . AMBIENT ..where no man has gone before. Thank you for all your music and inspirations.
Robert - always a delight to be immersed in your meticulous craftsmanship, and deep musicality. It's a thundery Oct afternoon here in London, England. (Oct 3 2015.) I'm transported instantly to soundscape, Stanford and earlier CA haunts! Remember your bread making with relish! (And jam.)
Thanks for posting this Mr. Rich. I have been a huge fan since discovering you on Hearts of Space back when I was in high school. I am guessing around 1980/81. It was quite the adventure back then to find your sound. HOS only came on a very weak channel at 11pm or midnight on Sunday. Needless to say I was tired in Monday morning classes. I had to strategically place my antenna each week in a different place to tune in the station. Once success was attained there, I would get my cheap blank cassettes out and tape the show, once show per side. I have, of course, since evolved, and own your entire collection thanks to the internet and sites like Hypnos, etc. Your music and Steve Roach are still on constant play here. Somnium is my goto cd when I cannot sleep. Missed you when you were in Detroit a few years back. Will watch for your return.
Nice work Rob. I noticed you have a DS Prophet 12. I cannot believe the sounds that I get from my P12 sometimes. I always like to watch ambient artist at work. They wait so patiently for the sound to evolve. Thanks for the post.
Hi Robert, This is spontaneous beauty. Oh master my master of inspiration. You are channeling from the universe. Love the slide guitar work with the ebow and the wacky little...looks like you're bowing with a pen or something on the string. Frippilicious!
Just coming across this hidden jewel in'19. Started following you in '94 after hearing tracks from "Propagation" on hearts of space. Seeing the master at work is really cool.
Es ist so schön wie die Uneinziehbarkeit der Krallen räuberischer Vögel oder die Unsicherheit von Muskelbewegungen in Wunden der Weichteile der hinteren Halsregion 🌟
Hey Robert, I don't know if you'll read this but I'm a HUGE fan and really love your work (I'm a musician too) your one of my musical idols I wish I could meet, thanks for the long list of great classic ambient albums!!
Well done, Robert Rich! When I was listening and watching, I felt that I was having a privileged view into the creative process of music, sound and consciousness. Thank you, on behalf of both e-music creators and listeners, like my self.
I have surrendered and subscribed--SO MASTERFUL, keeping all the plates and me spinning, suspended, entranced. Thanks, JB (Bowen Synth Designs/Solaris) for exposing me to art that speaks directly to my Soul, esp. the lap steel and flute work~I am here to stay. . . inspired to power up my keyboards and attempt to preach a sermon such as yours, Reverend Robert Rich.
Dear Robert, I have recently started listening to your youtube channel. Your music is amazing. It is not only cosmically beautiful it also helps me to concentrate when I write code - it sort of drowns out other unnecessary thoughts. Please keep making more....
Just came across this gem! I was attending Foothill in 1980 and would have loved to have seen your show. Love the eBow on lapsteel...very tasty! 89.7 forever...THE WAVE.
I went to midnight showings of Pitch Black over and over just to hear the sound design trifecta in action: Robert Rich/Steve Roach/BrianLustmordWilliams
It was a pleasure meeting you, Rob. I am very impressed with your music and cannot understand, why I have not heard off you earlier ;-) I hope to be able to swing by again in the near future and hope we have another nice evening chat ;-) Thank you very much for your hospitality and the good wine ;-) Axel
Wow, you go back to 1980?? That's before I even discovered (what was then called) Space Music. I've been listening to your works here on RUclips - my favorite is Perpetual. I love the dark, moody, ethereal ambiance your music creates. You're quite talented and I'll be here listening! =)
It’s a dream,.... to have a studio, instruments you need,.... and a place to live. For a soles with a dreams there is no more place for one bedrooms, got to share to be able to pay rent.
Your music has never ceased to amaze me Robert. As I become one with it I am always transported to another place.I will always be listening and thank you for so many amazing journeys.
maybe you should do soundtrack to blade runner 2 ;) ;) vangelis was good in the first movie but i think u would take it so deep that people would be in a total trance!
I like the atmosphere of this performance. You just can close your eyes and with help of imagination immerse yourself into bizarre mysterious world to discover. Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to "Comsology" release!
I love smoking my weed in our beautiful Aspen Colorado Home as I listen to this awesome music Bob Rich blesses us with . We seen a Bigfoot two days ago on our property by our work shed , my wife wants to leave and sell the place because of the several sightings we have had ! Anyone interested ? My two dogs scared the creature away but we are sure it will be back again , Our place is not far from where a Doctor went missing only to be found deceased under some very very strange unexplained circumstances !
l use your sound scapes while doing my art. You;rs is one of the only media that leaves all avenues, passages and subtle byways open while l explore my own creativity Thank you for your many works Robert. My path would be so vacant without the many layers you provide. Again thanx! T
Some times people need to hear of their value from a stranger with no reason other than a sincere love of anothers art. Your takng the time to answer is telling. I wish you the best in all things Robert. T
+Thomas Hanson Indeed, it sounds like you understand that, as an artist yourself. Often we work in solitude, following an internal compass, and it's hard to know if many other people share a pull in similar directions.
On the money! Your sound scapes somehow give me a smooth path to move in or back out to explore another possible outcome without the sense of which used to imply a form of time wastage which although very subtle, is now absent all together. Yikes! Sorry for being so verbose....it takes a sentence to express a 1/32 of second art process. Enough! Let's do art! T

Robert I love the world you created, so I'm not leaving. We shall remain here. May to have more of your music sun energy for us to live forever in your planet Sir Rich......Thanks
This is a bit like watching a magician reveal how he does all his magic. But even afterward, you're still amazed.
