    at first this creeped me out but then i thought how humbling it is to actually hear the sounds our sun makes. like somehow, in spite of all the other signals we tune into from tv, radio, and the internet, we were meant to naturally tune into the frequencies of the other planets and listen to what kind of messages they have for us. i know that seems out there but i can't help but wonder.

    • @blackendrose123
      @blackendrose123 10 лет назад +9

      that really is quite an interesting thought there, it does make you think what the planets sound like but also what message we can derive from them, im very open minded so it does make one ponder...

      I think you've tapped into something universal with that comment. Think about it...astrology - and I mean the very ancient forms as well, were all about trying to hear to the messages of the spheres. But now we can listen as never before.

    To this "All images and sound belongs to NASA, all thanks goes to them and their hard awesome work!"
    This work was already done by Hindus in Vedic Era thousands years ago. It is well know that in Vedas(Rig Veda ) that humming sound "OM" is the sound of Sun. Nasa's audio proves that point. And think of technology they had to use to capture that sound of sun. This was done very first time in modern times. Now imagine people having that technology or power to hear that sound 4000 years ago in Vedas. Think about that. Hindu Vedas are littered with so many celestial, scientific and Mathematical excellence.

    I can't believe you haven't figured it out yet. These are actually electromagnetic vibrations from the Sun, converted into sound waves. Or at least something like that, I'm not an astronomer.

  • @gotindrachenhart
    @gotindrachenhart 11 лет назад +1

    Correct, there is no sound in a vacuum. This is recordings of EM waves that NASA then somehow converts to audible tones. Pretty simple idea really.

  • @godofmajora

    *Facepalm*
    Nope. Chuck Testa.
    Sound, as far as space is concerned, exists at frequencies that are far too low for you to properly detect with the human ear.
    This is considered the true 'sound' of the sun because of the radio emissions and electromagnetic discharges that radiate out from the sun. At least, compiled together over the span of days and days so that the frequencies would become more audible.

    Light travels through space in the form of electromagnetic bursts of waves. All "sound" is, is a disturbance in an area of space whether there is air or not. Light is sound. Sound is light. How do you think we get all these images of planets and all these calculations of interplanetary phenomena? Radio Waves bouncing off of surfaces and matter and coming back to us in the form of mathematical and colorful images. There are space probes that record the amount of wave crests occurring within a specific amount of time... Whether it is in the form of visible light, gamma waves, infrared waves, uv, solar flares, etc... This is what frequency is. Satellites/probes record these differentiations in frequency and simply convert them within the channel of our able perception. That means we must either slow it down or speed it up in order to "hear" something.

    • @stringbing97
      @stringbing97 8 лет назад +1

      +ARCampbell there's other ways to convert the recording but usually its either sped up or slowed down. :) hope this helped some people in understanding how tf this is possible.

    In general, the "sounds" that are derived from SDO, SOHO, and similar spacecraft are "sonifications" of non-plasma-wave data. Plasma waves, somewhat like sound in the atmosphere, are closely coupled with oscillating particles in the thin charged gas that permeates interplanetary space. On the other hand, sonification takes some measurement potentially unrelated to any sort of oscillation and converts it to a sound with different aspects of the measurement affecting frequency, amplitude, etc. For a good explanation of sonification, see cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/stereo_solarwind/sounds.html
    I am curious about the original source of this particular CME event. It sounds artificial to me.
    As far as the Brain/Mind recordings go: They may have some highly-modified short samples of our plasma wave data mixed in, but they are mostly artificial enhancements. Of course there's nothing wrong with artistic manipulation of the data -- we invite that. It's very misleading, however, to claim that these are the original "NASA Voyager Recordings" when little or no natural signal remains.

    1, the sun IS a living organism like anything else on earth or in the galaxy.
    2, i dont know why people want to hear the 'actual' sound of the sun. Its around 4hz and well above 20,000 hz. In other words, outside of our hearing spectrum.
    We only hear this audio cuz the original was slowed or sped up.
    All planets emit their own sounds. The birds on earth sing the song of saturn if im not mistaken. We humans can sing the song of sun. Ooohm chant.

    • @sedjetra
      @sedjetra  11 лет назад +1

      You are right, but maybe Sun is alive on higher dimensions, who knows. Having so much energy and not exploding is very special. Maybe some day we will know if it's alive or not. And there are countless number of stars in the Universe, if we will know some day that they are all conscious, then that's is going to be just big WOW!:)

    Sounds like the sustain of a big cymbal. Hit a cymbal and then put your ear as close as you can to the edge when it's decaying. Sounds like this. Hit it first then put you ear to it please. You will damage your hearing it you put your ear there first then hit it.
    Behind the cymbal sound it sounds like two people humming aliatorically (initially at the same pitch but slowly fluctuating out of tune to each other). I do this when vacuuming. Hum the same pitch as the vacuum and then slowly slide up and and down in pitch ever so slightly, sound creepy.

    ...sad that in reality, sun's radio "sound" is high pitched ringing noise.

    Would sound like an amplified erupting volcano if not for space vacuum.
