- Here is an unboxing of seven of the Hanna Barbara Diamond Collection TV series season sets. Unfortunately, while these are awesome reissues, they have stacked discs and have omitted the bonus features. Still, they are nice releases for those who do not have these sets yet. In this video I open up Scooby-Doo Where Are You! Seasons 1-2, Scooby-Doo Where Are You! Season 3, The Best of the New Scooby-Doo Movies, The Yogi Bear Show Complete Series, Top Cat Complete Series, The Flintstones Season 1, and The Jetsons Season 1.
Honestly, they should have kept going with the original line, with bonus features. In fact, there are some ideas that I have, should they do such a thing:
-The New Scooby-Doo Movies: The Final Episodes
-The Huckleberry Hound Show: Volumes 2-4
-The Smurfs: Seasons 2(3?)-8
-The Best of The Ruff & Reddy Show
-Cave Kids: The Complete Series
-The New Shmoo: The Complete Series
-Almost, or even ALL of the "Scooby-Doo" clones!
And, keep in mind, that's just what I could think up ON THE SPOT!

I still wished that Yogi's Treasure Hunt, Fender Bender and reboot of Wacky Races are finally on complete DVD Collection in 2021.
it's mind-boggling that they feature a second pocket for disc 2 of season 3 of scooby doo but NOT for the ones that ACTUALLY come with three discs. So not only are we stripped away from bonus features but the discs have a high possibility of getting scratched easier. Also, The New Scooby Doo Movies original release was 660 Minutes. This one is 645, I wonder what content was subtracted for this reissue, besides the bonus material..?
The only one I like better than the original version is Scooby doo where are you season 3 because the original version second disc was a double sided disc, but they should of kept the bonus features as part of the set. The only other ones I had as part of the original set was season 1 and 2 of Scooby Doo where are you and The best of the New Scooby Doo movies( Still have that one plan on updating it to the Almost complete series edition).
No Josie and the Pussycats crossover episode in the Best Of New Scooby Doo movies I see. Bummer. Good video overall though, I am thinking of buying the complete series of Scooby Doo Where Are You and wanted to know what was the best way to get all of the episodes

Why were even stacked discs even created? It's a waste of 💰 and doesn't end up selling well most of the time.

I’m guessing Warner bros. Wants to try something else than a swinging tray, but whatever my reason is. I like the swinging tray cases better than the stacked DVD cases, stacked cases sucks.
Wow Top Cat and The Yogi Bear show nice.. I just saw these at Best Buy.. My area never had these until the past few weeks. I will check out Walmart and I also saw a few at Target.
The disks are different. The Dynomutt disks in the first release were flippers, these are not. The first release of Scooby s1-2 contained 4 disks, this one has 3

I like the cover art but other than that these sets are pretty lackluster
It was disappointing we didn't get more seasons of some of those shows and these sets seemed to be way too expensive at retail as well which is probably the reason we didn't get more lol

I never saw these Diamond ones before! I collect the black Hanna Barbera ones but they are hella expensive in Region 2 :(
Cool Hanna-Barbera diamond collection TV series DVD sets. I have the Yogi bear and the 4 Scooby-Doo original sets.
I just recently got the complete series set of Hong Kong Phooey, so it and Josie are likely the only Diamond Collection sets that i will have in the immediate future.
The former one is also a two disc set with a flipper tray case and not stacked discs like some of the above ones in the video.

Thanks a lot Warner Bros. Now I'll never ever buy the diamond collections because you are missing out a lot from the original box set. Those shiny sets don't even deserve to be called a diamond collection in my opinion.
The only Diamond Collections that I'm aware that kept their original content are "Wacky Races: The Complete Series" and it's two spin-offs; "Dastardly & Muttley: The Complete Series" and "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop: The Complete Series".

Not so great if you're a Bonus Features aficionado like me in fact. If you want bonus goodies the original releases are the way to go... also the stacked discs kills the deal for me.
A lot of people are avoiding buying these because of the stacked discs.

I hate these type of discs!!! They are fingerprint-prone!!! I’m sticking to the original releases. Yeah, it’s cool that they are being released again, but talk about crappy packaging!
Yes they are. I like these releases overall, but what really disappoints me is that they got rid of bonus features. The older releases are superior if you like the bonus stuff.

J's Blu-Rays do Adventure Time: The Complete Seasons 1-7, Stakes miniseries and Islands miniseries dvds. Seasons 1-6 are on blu-ray, too. Season 7 will be out on July 18th but it's not gonna be out on blu ray. Just dvd only. Also season 9 is the Adventure Time's final season and it will end next year.
Adventure time is on my to-buy list. I'll get it eventually.

I feel like these dvds are a ripoff mainly because they didn't have bonus features on them.What if people want to see the bonus features?That is just stupid if the other Hanna Barbera dvds had special features on them but on these, they just put the episodes on there and that's it.I also hate the new disc design for the dvds.They shouldn't be stacked like that because the dvds could become damaged very easily!And the artwork on the discs are just plastered on and they don't have any colour on them which sucks.But I really like the new shiny covers they got for the dvds.Just a shame that there's no bonus features and that the discs are stacked like that in the package.Why couldn't they just use an Eco case like the Scooby Doo ones?Really weird in my opinion!

Why do they have to stack the discs? Don't they know that that is a very easy way for the discs to get scratched?

Actually, the stacked discs are causing them to lose money, because a lot of people are avoiding buying them because of this. Whoever it was that decided to use stacked discs for these releases has no respect for potential customers.
The company is being "penny wise but pound foolish." In order to save a little bit of money, they are losing a much bigger amount of money.

Well starting in 2018, I think they stopped doing the stacked discs case for DVDs because they realized they can get scratched.

I hope they make a Diamond Collection of Hanna-Barbera DVD's for Region 2.

The older releases also had full-color disc labeling instead of the plainer ones these have. It's like they're saying "We don't care about these anymore."
If they didnt care about these anymore they wouldnt have re-released them in this new collection. This is the first of several wave releases thru December 2017 with new never before released on dvds coming too. The labeling looks like the other recent Warner animation releases.

eyeh8nbc Still better than Universal's Blu-ray releases. Seriously, I've seen two unboxings of the 1994 Flintstones movie and Howard the Duck and both of the Blu-ray discs had absolutely no artwork in them.
They also have shitty DVD menus and the new scooby doo movies almost complete I got the episodes were in shitty presentation

Hey! Can u verify for me if the best of the new scooby doo movies have Spanish language? I bought the old version and it only contain Spanish subtitles but I notice the diamond collection has the Language In English, Spanish and French on the back of the box but I'm not 100% if the episodes can play in Spanish. Please :s let me know. Thank you!

I want to get a few of these sets. How bad do the discs scratch? I take really good care of my stuff. So, for normal use of watching them every once in a while, will it be an issue?

Downgrading the packaging and extras, and they wonder why physical media sales are down and people still resort to bootlegging!
Physical media sales are leveling off. Book sales are increasing, video sales are stable vs previous years and music sales are also stable (Vinyl increasing).

I have all 3 of the scooby doo dimond collection dvd sets in the video. I got the new scooby doo movies a few weeks ago. I also have the svooby doo dynomut hour dimond collection dvd set in my scooby doo movie collection.
Word is spreading on the internet that these releases have stacked discs, and a lot of people have decided not to buy them because of this.

The Wacky Races reissue and the sets for the two spin offs actually retain all of their extras, so i don't get why they removed them from most of the others.
Oh. At least the Hanna Barbera Golden Collection has the bonus features.
+CoyoteMontana Yes, the Golden/Classic Collection sets are the way to go. I really don't understand why the took the extras off these re issues with the exception of those. The only sets i personally have of these versions are Josie and the Pussycats and Hong Kong Phooey, though i don't know if the original releases of them had a lot of extras if any.
The discs that are stacked up will get scratched really easy.
That's why they on the ones i have I'll usually just replace the stack cases with flipper cases.
I m getting The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt complete series Diamond Collection. I hope it is worth it.

Truthfully, about one or two. It's sad because I buy all these movies and never watch them. But the fun is in collecting and being able to watch whatever I want when I want.
