What would your custom practice look like if you’re at 800 trying to get in to WS? Do you practice on legend or HOF? Best pitcher to go against? Best pitches and locations to focus on? I’ve tried using custom practice but it doesn’t seem to translate well to in game
I hadn’t played mlb the show for about 2 years before this one. Only ever played RTTS and played on directional for hitting. Switched to zone a few weeks ago. I can already tell how much better I’ve gotten but damn I still have a ways to go. Consistently slamming my PCI on pitches down the middle.
My biggest issue is I can't hit my spots consistently with my pitchers and with hitting my pci placement. I'm very patient at the plate but I just can't seem to consistently get good pci placements😒
Besides not being able to do pinpoint the biggest setback I have that keeps me from being elite is I use buttons only with no throw meter because I tend to make horrible throws regularly. But relying on rng sometimes gives me a terrible throw at the worst moment possible
I cannot understate how vital it is that you remove that rng element from your game play. It sucks making the adjustment but over time its definitely worth it
I’m having trouble throwing people out off a force out at first. Like the hitter has swung and the camera goes to the back catcher while the hitter is running to first. I can’t get a green throw it keeps showing red and I can’t seam to get a perfect throw so they end up over throwing. I don’t know what I’m suppose to do
I’ve only played a few games on legend this season. I don’t play legend enough to keep playing. Too scared lol. My 870 game, played someone who was barely over 900 on legend. Then at 890ish I played someone with 1000 icon. I was really upset but somehow got to 950 after all that
Don’t get down on your record cj… Ramone is incompetent. If the gameplay was competitive (what ranked is SUPPOSED TO BE) you would have wayyyy less losses. Nothing you can do when they nerf your exit velos and give your opponents fluke hits all game.
I won a game without a single perfect perfect output 8-6. Didn't even feel like I deserved it. SDS is incentivized to not adjust hitting as most of their money makers are not spending money on stubs and choice packs. It's sad to see how bad the game has cratered this year. I have a feeling it's only going to get worse from here on out.
There’s been so many times this year that I will score 5-6 runs in an inning off of perfect hits and then my opponent who’s getting no hit through the game just somehow puts runs on the board😂😂
Lost a co op game yesterday where we had 17 hits and 6 perfect-perfects. None were home runs. The other team had 8 hits and hit 5 tanks on pitches out of the zone. None of them were perfect and half weren’t even good contact.
It's good to learn, but just one game last between 50 minutes to an hour or even if the opponent pauses a lot. One hour gameplay just for one game is crazy
Can you explain what makes going lefty lefty bad, I’m asking because some of the guys numbers hitting right and hitting left was that far apart so I figured they hit either pitcher well, does the difficulty play apart in your reasoning also? I don’t do my lineup to save my life that’s why I’m asking
usually it's harder to hit lefty lefty just because of where the ball is coming from. my favorite card is always yelich but it sucks because of john and randy, I can never read the ball. that's just my pov on it though
I’m in champions my 1st year playing the game and now I can’t seem to hit the ball I don’t know how I’m going to adjust to hall of fame pitch speeds @Cj12k help me!
It is so depressing to me that i didnt play for 8 days and it only took me less than an hour to completely catch up/complete all content. I hate saying this game is already dead, but it sure seems like SDS killed it with the content schedule this year.
Dude fr, at least last year I felt like I had to play everyday or else I fell way behind, but now I can just play casually and keep a god squad barely playing haha
@@CJ12KYT I have 3 teams that are all really good around 92-93 overall, switch, buxton, and big papi. But only around 40k stubs. Should I commit to a super squad with one boost and sell some other cards, or keep all and earn stubs
This isn't very relevant and just my opinion ... but I can't stand hitting with the just X button. I love analog stride for the immersion but once I get on legend it's SO FUCKING HARD. There needs to be a more forgiving timing reward for analog stride.
Man idk why I’m so late on fastballs, any tips from anyone here? I think I’m focusing to much on getting pci on the ball anyone else had this issue? I hit decent on legend in practice but go online on all star and seems like I can’t catch up to outlier, Randy lit me up last night. Any tips would be greatly appreciated
@@luke_322 I feel your pain hitting Randy. Sounds lame but I switch to directonal hitting when I face him and can’t hit. Once I can time him up I’ll switch back to pci
Breaking through too 600 has been tough. Win three in a row and then get mashed 2 in a row

I just hit 700 rating and I started playing the show mid way last year. Follow his tips and you’ll be good 💯
Same here 827 rating started late season 5 23 and i was bad, these vids help alot
820 here 🤝

most likely has to do with pitch recognition and timing
Found higher bb/9 been helping with control

I bit the bullet and started using the meter. It takes a little time but it's definitely worth it once u get use to it.

I was struggling this year hitting. I turned off my PCI and have won 5 in row with 10+ hits a game.
I think that’s why my pitching sucks sometimes. I leave starters til there’s no more energy

Just got Rolly Fingers the other day, still hoping there is enough time in the season so I can get to Boss Packs.
should be good, try to get some games in this weekend Ik it's not ideal
yup just got rollie too, we should be fine with the new program drops tbh
Double xp this weekend too
For me this year, being late works out way more than being early
Great video CJ! I learned some things I didn’t know! W video!!!!
Feel like I just went to a little league clinic. Sad but was definitely needed for the lower ranked players. Much appreciated. 🤙🤙
Alejandro Kirk will ALWAYS be my 8 or 9 hole because he he's the worst swing in my entire lineup. I need a better catcher then it sounds
When u said hit 744 and lose 6 straight hit home 😂😂😂
Do you recommend custom practice in legend when you are on 800+ points? Or stick with hof?
Could go either way
i naturally like my catcher batting 9th

Then you're stuck in Events or BR if you don't have a hour to play 1 game.

@@trrevor9179 perfect thank you for that
It's a mental thing really. If you eliminate the batter you're left with a box so it doesn't matter which side the batter is on.
@@flaquis2729 very true, but also when pitching you sometimes throw differently depending on who the batter is

Where do you place your thumb when hitting?
try the knuckle of your thumb at about 8 o clock
ur able to pickoff 3x not 2x rhe 3rd time tho if you dont get the runner out they get to advance
New sub 🔥🔥🔥
You can make the cpu steal in custom practice
Any xp tips. I’m 70,000 away from boss packs and have done all the programs and mini seasons
There’s some in the conquests I’m basically in the same exact boat as you
I'd just wait for the weekend and not stress it too much

How tf you did that lol
How about sds fix damn freeze offs 😡😡
Is sub 400 actually on veteran? I didn’t know that. Thought it was all star and above.
I know for a fact 200 and under is, fairly certain under 400 is as well

Wouldn’t practice on legend if you’re an allstar player, hof at the most. Fastball has to be the #1 priority
