It is time to divide the tennis world in 4 and let countries put up bids to host the majors. Ridiculous that only these 4 countries will ever host tennis majors. Even Olympics and world cups move around. Why can't much smaller event like tennis major be shared. Each region must keep the same surface E.g countries in French zone have to host clay major. Counties in UK zone have to host grass etc. Everybody tell your countries tennis organization to tell ATP tour it's time to change.

One thing to consider is how well the next 4-8 ranked players have improved which may result in long matches starting from quarters. This may prove difficult for the big ‘3’ often resulting in unpredictable results.
2021 AO is the last chance for Nadal he should call of this season and get completely ready and fit this is only chance Nadal has to capture another AO.
Probably true. Hence why I think it’s much more of a must for Nadal. I think Tahmid’s prediction of 24/25 for Nadal is maybe a little over optimistic. It’s possible but I think there’s too many factors that will get in the way. I agree with Gill that the Yannick Sinners of this world will start causing serious problems. And you can’t count Thiem out to affect it all.
I agree with you, it is the last chance for someone from B3 (Nadal or Djokovic) to win a second career GS. If Rafa doesn't win this AO, then no one from B3 will ever win a second career GS.
I reckon Djokovic has another 4/5 majors in him. He's favorite for next years AO and W and probably will be favorite for AO/W 2023 as well. He could get another USO as well, but even if he doesn't that's 21 majors and enough to be GOAT. Considering Federer won half his majors in a weak era and won't win anymore. Nadal is 13/20 at RG. Nadal will more than likely get the next 2 RG titles that's 15/22. Too much at one major.
Good to see you enjoying these videos with Gill - great to watch you try something new and chat with someone else as something a little different to the usual monologues 👍
Hey guys, great podcast! Couple of points from a long time tennis fan: - Thiem looked more than ready even in 2020, so he is gonna be major thread on hard/clay going onwards. - I don't think AO 2021 is a "must win" for Novak, but it is very important. I think his threats are Thiem/Tsitsipas/Medvedev, honestly I don't see Rafa or Roger beat him in Bo5 on hard. Rafa hasn't take a set in 7 years... - I agree that as that time passes by, Wimbledon will present greater chance for win than AO to Novak. Simply because most of the players prefer hard court over clay & grass today. That's simple truth. Novak made incredible adjustment throughout his career by learning to play & move on grass. Not many people have done that. - For me, Rafa is overwhelming favourite at the next RG, and he might snatch another hard-court GS. For RG 2022 I don't dare to predict. So I think Rafa ends up at worst with 21 slam, while maybe 24 at best. - Roger ends up with 20, sorry Roger fans, it's just the way it is. - Novak is the biggest enigma here, he could go up to 25 or he could stay at 18-19. He is hungry which is good, but he needs to preserve great form and fitness, and young guns are coming stronger than ever. Looking forward to discuss more with you.

In golf Tiger woods spent almost 700 weeks at number and has something like 8 more total victories than Jack Nicklaus. Nevertheless Jack Nicklaus is considered the greatest golfer of all time because he leads tiger in majors 18-15. Tiger Woods would be the first to say Jack is the greatest. Most tennis pundits considered Fed the GOAT because of his 20 major victories not because of his 310 weeks at number one. Pete Sampras who once held the records for most major victories, most year end number ones and most weeks at number one considered the slam record by far his most important.
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum The most important definietly, but if they finish with the similar number of GS,especially Rafa and Novak, other records needs to be taken into consideration. Rafa really needs to be atleast 2-3 GS minimum better than Novak because every other important record is in Novak's favour (masters titles,Year end no1) and he will break Federer's weeks at No1 record in March. Rafa can't really have these records...especially weeks at No1,he needs to hang on grand slams.
@@dushandvr5765 lol Novak Dosent have Olympics Behind in h2h in slams Behind in win percentage No multiple titles on all surfaces H2h against roger Nadal combined is not good in slams. Behind in gs With all this in mind he only has one masters more than rafa and only 2 positive h2h overall. With same year end number 1 6wtf. Novak has no chance
I gotta say (very objectively speaking) despite getting destroyed by Nadal last week ... Djokovic really didn't look that bad all year I mean he won AO and Dubai and then on the resumption of the tennis season just carried on where he left off ... I mean I don't see why people are even questioning him as being a favorite at everything next year besides on Clay
That was a great podcast Tahmid & Gill, thoroughly enjoyed it. One major concern for Novak is his elbow & shoulder injury. He seems to have discomfort in those area from time to time, which may hamper him from playing at his best. He even underwent an elbow surgery towards end of 2016. And he had to retire mid match against Stan in US Open 2019 due to left shoulder issue. Also at RG this year, he was having problems in his neck. Novak still is the most physically fit amongst the Big 3 though, but if the above issues surface untimely during a Grand Slam, then it could cost him dearly. It might even knock him out of action for quite sometime. Essentially, all of it boils down to longetivity, as pointed out by Gill. I don't think Next Gen would be a problem for him, and Wimbledon would be an easy bet to add to his tally. He needs to win atleast 2 grand slams next year to prevent Rafa from furthering the gap between them. Otherwise, if Rafa wins 2 next year (RG + any one of the rest three), it would be very difficult for Novak to constantly play catch up, as Rafa could always add atleast one (RG) every year he plays.

@@sahilpanjwani2277 I think Novak fans would love their favorite to win French Open rather than Thiem to complete the double career Grand Slam. But yeah, in case Novak fails to win, they'll surely be rooting for Thiem then
Despite losing this final, I don't think there is too much for Djokovic to be disappointed about. He has the year end number 1 sealed, won 2 master 1,000's, won a slam and will end the year as the best player in 2020. His one loss being against the King of clay playing great tennis in his backyard. His only regret would be that default in the USO, which likely cost him another slam. As I predicted, Nadal emerged victorious. It became a straight sets affair due to the combination of Djokovic playing bad and the king of clay playing great. Nadal is one step closer to being the open era goat, but he is not quite there yet. He trails way behind in weeks at number 1 and has 0 WTF's titles(Fed has 6). He needs at least one more grand slam, many more weeks at number 1 and a WTF title to cement his status as the goat. For now, Federer narrowly holds on. What we do know is that Nadal definitively remains the king of clay with this domination. However, Nadal no doubt dodged a bullet by missing a Thiem semi due to burnout. Now we will never know who wins between those two.
Djokovic needs to win at least 2 slams next year. With Nadal showing no signs of not winning French then Djokovic really needs to pull back at least 1 a year

Excellent video once again. This is how I will rank the favorites at each major: AO 1) Novak 2) Fed 3) Rafa and Dominic FO 1) Rafa 2) Novak 3) Thiem Wimby 1) Novak 2) Fed 3) Rafa USO 1) Rafa and Novak 3) Fed and Dominic Rafa and Novak will end up with 25. Fed will end up with 22. The GOAT battle will end up being between Rafa and Novak. Nice job Tahmid. Keep up the great work young man 👍
😳 25 for nole and rafa !!?? 😳 May be 22 - 24.. its tough to decide who will lead.. but yes.. its a fight between nole and rafa from the beginning of this decade.. most didnt see this coming but 2011 was convincing enough for me when nole proved himself by beating prime rafa !!! God forbid the injuries... both will end up anywhere between 22 - 24...with slight edge with rafa in the GOAT race.
That is almost exactly how I would rank them too Louis - 25 does seem a lot and would require both of them to avoid injuries for the next few seasons, especially for Novak who would have to win another 8 😬 hopefully they stay fit, as Rafa certainly has a few more FO guaranteed, and Novak could easily do another streak of 3 slams
Rafa would almost for sure win 2 more RG, maybe one more USO/AO, so he will end his tally 23GS, Novak would probably add 5more that took him 22GS. As for Fed, no more GS
very fair and respectful to all big 3, i like the way youve put the favourites down although after sunday perhaps: FO 1) Nadal 2) Leave this empty 3) Djokovic 4) Thiem
Thanks Stephen glad to have you here! Could turn out that way but hopefully they all get the fairytale ending and all win 1 more atleast especially Roger
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum Haha those are my pessimistic numbers for Rog. He wouldn't be coming back to tour if he didn't feel like he could win more slams. So I think he can do it :)

I heard so many times the same story about the FAB 3: they are finished. In 2017 Roger was back at his peak and Djoko was apparently lost. After Rafa won Roland Garros in 2014, Kafelnikov said that it was Rafa's last Grand Slam ever. We are in 2020 and still counting. I think only 1 thing can stop those 3: the COVID situation and if tournaments will be played or not. My 2 cents
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum I think that the FAB 3 will decide for how long to keep winning. At the moment only Thiem is fitter than them. But he's very emotional too. I can't see any other player beating them on their favourite courts (best of 5).

Great podcast @Tahmid keep it up Yes I do agree Aus open is a must win slam for djokovic... 2021 predictions Djokovic Aus ,SW19 and US open Nadal RG 2022 Aus open djokovic will tie GS tally with Nadal
Very nice debate between you two Tahmid ! As far as my opinion on the topic, AO21, yes its a must win for Novak to get it. This pandemic has drastically changed how we are talking about the Big 3 Slams tallies. This year Djokovic was ready for probably another 11' or 15' winning for sure Wimbledon (without Federer being there too) and maybe USO. So he would have been at least at 18 or 19 (which would also happen if not the DQ at USO). But we cant speak with IFs so with the current state and him being 3 Slams behind he definely wants at least 2 slams next year if he really wants to end up with the most Slams. In order to do that he wants 2 out of AO,W or USO with AO and W being more likely, and thats why i am saying its a must win for him at AO21. Another thing that i would like to mention is that as himself has stated he wants to chase both "More Slams" and "Weeks at #1" records, so i truly believe that once he gets the later down in March he will be more free and dangerous as never in the Slams ! So since he hasnt repeated an 11' or 15' this year, its highly unlikely that he will do it again. But 2 slams per year is really possible scenario for him and that why he needs AO21 ! Really enjoyed the series with Gill ! Awesome content !
Thiem, Tsisipas top my list for major contenders. Zverev and Shapo are still a little choppy, but to me, they are more likely to take one of the big guns out than win. I think also some big hitters could upset the big guns: Sinner, Rublev, obviously Medvedev. 2021 should be interesting. I agree w/ your assessment of Wimbledon favoring Djokovic now. I am a big Fed fan so I'm excited to see if he can make a comeback this coming year. Majors... It's so tough to say, but these next two years will tell a lot. I can only hope (again, as a Fed fan) that the young guys start causing MAJOR problems in in 2022/2023, so in my wildest dreams, Thiem and Tsisipas take 2-4 majors in the next two years, perhaps a surprise takes another 1-2. Split the difference that's 4 majors in 2 years going to someone other than the Big 3. That leaves 4. Djokovic has 19, Nadal has 22. Maybe Fed gets to 21. Big maybe. But I don't see Djokovic catching Nadal if Nadal gets to 22. And I'm totally fine w/ that. :)
Thanks for the videos, Tahmid!.. watched all 3 parts.. excellent observations by both of you.. I have a feeling Rafa might have found a way to get into Djokovic's head.. he was pounding backhands (and some forehands) into the Djokovic forehand and also returned the Djokovic serve beautifully.. with this in mind, I'm a bit inclined to believe that Rafa has a good chance to win the Australian Open next year and complete the double career slam.. although Rafa has only won the AO once, he has reached the final 5 times and 2 of his losses were in gruelling five-setters.. so.. I see him having a good chance there next year..
He hasn't played him much on hard courts lately.. except the AO 2019 final.. but Novak is definitely more susceptible on slower courts these days.. since he can't hit through the court as well as he used to.. and Rafa has a much better chance of beating him at the Australian Open or the US Open than at Wimbledon..
That's a good point. There is barely any competition in SW19. Only the Big 3! Probably that's what will make Fed going for another few years. Djoker will be the Favorite with Fedal right behind to snatch it. Will be interesting nest few years
It's funny how One Off Day at the Roland Garros Final and One absolutely freak incident at the US Open has put Djokovic in a tricky position now.. The stakes are higher than ever.. Coming Back to Slam Race.. Yes its important for Djokovic to win the Australian Open just to put the race much closer... But i also feel that Slam Race is just 1/3rd of the whole part of the GOAT debate.. The other ONE Third is Most weeks as World No 1 and Most Year End World No 1.. Which i am sure is going Djokovic's way The last 1/3rd is Combination of Masters 1000 and World Tour Finals.. Even that is going towards Djokovic.. Because those trophies are really difficult.. U need to be more Clutch in those tournaments.. And Nole has been clutch for a lot of years!! I just feel we will see an Even More Rejuvenated and a More Lethal Djokovic in Grand Slams once he crosses that Hurdle of 310 weeks and get his 6th Year end WORLD No 1 trophy out of the way(Nadal and Federer has 5 each).. He can finish easily with 7 year End World No 1 trophy minimum.
Djokovic did not have an off day, Nadal was just too good and did not allow Djokovic to play his game and dictate. It was a proper beat down by Nadal. Show some respect.
There is still a lot of factors in goat debate more than u mentioned. A lot not just factors favoring novak. Lot of factors indicate that novak is not even close to nadal in goat race
@@brijmehta9421 roger and novak are fast court bullies. They are failures on an entire surface. Rafa has multiple gs on all surfaces. They have only 1 slam on an entire surface lol. If you take out fast court gs from federer he has only 5. Novak will have only 4 If you take out clay from rafa he still has 7. Aus and Wimbledon are of same court speed if you do the research. Adding on to this. Federer is way behind in masters Took 80 gs to reach 20 while rafa took 60 H2h is one sided. Even in gs its one sided. Even on hard courts in gs its one sided. No Olympics Less win percentage. H2h against Djokovic rafa is 10 21. Now Djokovic. Dosent have multiple gs on all surfaces. The comments about Federer were interesting. Just to add another thing....Thiem,Tsitsipas and Zverev were already causing Federer problems in the head to head. I see that situation only getting more difficult as these 3 are getting better and better. Federer would need a lot of things to go right in both hardcourt slams to win. I really think his only chance is Wimbledon because none of the younger generation have figured out how to play well on grass yet
Great point and yep agreed, grass seems to be his best bet as theres less competition! If someone was to take out Novak then Roger would be favourite for Wimbledon
Great content as always. Just a suggestion. Gill's and your strengths lie in different domains. You are more into the stats and facts, performance analysis, etc. while Gill is more into dissection of game styles, technique, etc. I think in the last 2 parts (Part 1 had to be about the final obviously), you could have gone more into Gill's strengths such as how the Big 3 can adapt to keep winning (with loss of speed/ power, etc.) and what the next gen needs to do technique wise - going in depth on the Medvedev forehand, Tsitsipas defence and whatever ails Zverev (he seems to have new issues every tournament).
Thank you and agree with how you've assessed our different styles, great suggestions and apologies on my part! New to hosting and will definitely take it on board for the next one :)

Tahmid could you do a video about "Do you think Novak Djokovic will win the USO again?" The reason I ask this is because since 2016 Novak has really struggled in the USO like Roger Federer did at a similar age. When Djokovic has played a full season since 2016 he seems to fall short in the USO. 2016, he was injured and lost the final, 2017 he withdrew, 2018 he won but he didn't play a full season, 2019 he retired injured and 2020 a default. I mentioned this in your last video but I'm not sure if you have seen it.
Hey sorry I must've missed your comment.. Interesting point and theory you make but my opinion is that of course he can win more us opens.. I think the last couple of years no one could've predicted but hell still have atleast 3 or 4 more years to try and grab a couple more titles there

@@MrFR795 I would disagree, Nadal in the last 11 years has attended 8 USO's. He's won 4 finals, been in 5 finals, 6 semi's. Hey Tahmid, do u feel the way Rafa played against Roger in last years Wimbledon if he had won the 4th set he could have won. And possibly challenge djoker in the finals . And therfore be a potential candidate for next years Wimbledon?
Question, do the ranking points of the AO 2020 remain or do they get lost when AO 2021 starts? Didn't quite understand the ranking system. Will it return to normal next year after the World tour finals?
Novak, as he said himself, wants to break two records, GS tally and weeks at no 1, the latter one he will break in few months and that will give him even more confidence to break the other one, he will certainly be one of the favourites in at least next 12-16 slams...

Time will tell but mark my words Never count your slams before they are won Tennis is too unpredictable I'm sure rafa didn't think he would be on 20 and novak didn't think he will be on 17 as of today Things happen Its not mathematics

@@damirdamir1180 Too conservative of a guestimation. Rafa will have 22 by the end of 2022 at the very latest. Novak should reach 22 at some point during 2023 at the latest. They will both win more than that though. As for Fed, I tend to agree.
Rafa is definitely going to win another Roland Garros title and i also think he’ll win another slam at one of the other 3 majors. Rafa definitely will win another 2 slams maybe 3. There's no 'definite,' in tennis- don't be arrogant! Nadal could be injured/get sick or any of unlimited factors, making him lose RG next year! He may win, but there is a chance someone else, gets it too- he'll be 35, and older, I think he'll be gradually winning less, if someone else steps it up!
With due respect to Roger, he can compete on GS level, but he will not win anymore. The reason why we are still include him in every possibility because he is still with most slam. Thats all..
I agree. Djokovic holds all of the "smaller records" even though they might be more important than the grand slam record such as at least 72 wins at each slam (Rafa with at least 53), double career golden masters, (Rafa needs Miami, Paris, and Shanghai). Almost surpassing Federer in weeks at n1. Almost guaranteed year end n1 for sixth time this year.
Hi Tamid . I love your and Gill show. Long time listener first time commenting. Well done both of you guys for doing the podcast. I just have some thoughts on the slams race that I would like to share. I am a passionate Nadal fan so my thoughts can be a little biased but still. From what I see is this if we look at the time when Djokovic completed his grand slam at RG 2016. Every one has been saying that he will catch up to Federer number in no time, implying that he would surpass Nadal number as well. However 4.5 years have passed with the up and down of the tour, Djokovic only managed to close the gap with Federer by 2 slams and in fact going backwards against Nadal by 1. This was when Djokovic still at his peak. Now he seemed to lose some stamina towards the pointy end of the tournament. Therefore we can only predict the future based on that fact, coupled with the fact that the 4 next gen guys are coming hard ( Thiem, Tsisipas, Zverev and Medvedev in that order I think) . It will be extremely difficult for all the big 3 win multiple slams each year. So the disadvantage is still with Nole simply because he has to win a lot more. Sorry guys for a rather lengthy post. Thanks

Lengthy posts are the way to go, if you really want to express any sort of educated opinion and not just randomly trash talk your "enemies" :), so no need to apologize for that. But I get where you are coming from, as nowadays it is becoming ever harder to engage people in an exhaustive exchange of opinions. Still, I think we can curtail the discussion somewhat, as Roger, with all due respect for his past achievements, is no longer a factor in the ultimate slam race. That's not to say that he has no chance of winning another slam - I doubt that he will, but it is a theoretical possibility. But if nothing else, Rafa is already equal with him and there is no way that Rafa won't win more than Roger before they are both done. So it's down to Rafa and Novak in my book. As for Novak, you seem to be forgetting that between RG 2016 and Wimbledon 2018 he had by far the worst and lengthiest slump of his career. I do realize that he also contributed to it somewhat himself, but think that he learned from it and is unlikely to ever experience it again, aging and resulting gradual decline notwithstanding. So I would all but halve the period you stated, in which he didn't gain any/even lost ground on Roger/Rafa, from 4.5 to 2.5 or 3 years tops. And while I do know that Roger and Rafa also had their share of slumps, none of them happened during these last 4.5 years, or at least not nearly to the extent it was the case with Novak. So here's how I see it unfolding between Rafa and Novak. Let's not make the same mistake for the nth time and underestimate the power of Rafa's and Novak's will, competitiveness and grit. God knows I'm guilty of that, and not just as it relates to Novak and Rafa, but Roger too. Novak and Rafa each have four to five highly competitive years left in them. Highly competitive meaning winning slams. I honestly believe that's not my wishful thinking, but a very educated opinion. Had it not been for the other one, each of them would maybe even consider retiring earlier. But in the current constellation, they will have to carry them from the court feet first. And they will fight till that bitter end, obliterating absolutely all the records along the way. And by the time all is said and done, the two will distinguish themselves from the rest so far and yet stay so close to each other, that it will render the GOAT debate between them mostly futile.
Very well said and I think everyone is in the same boat.. as now it looks almost inevitable that Rafa will win another couple of RG titles atleast and perhaps more in USO or others!
I think it's definitely a must win for Novak for a couple of reasons. I believe that for Djokovic to continue in the race, two things need to happen. First and most importantly, Nadal cannot win 2 slams next year because if that happens, if Djokovic wins the other 2 it would be 22-20-19, meaning that the difference would still be 3 and he would have lost a year. I think RG is definitely a must for Rafa, and novak should at least try to win two. I think the US Open is the most open for anybody. it has shown throughout the years that other players can actually play well there and win aside from the big 3, so that is an uncertainty. In all honesty, if i were djokovic I would want to win 3-1 vs Rafa. That would make it 21-20-20 and it will be very open for 2022

With Federer working overtime to boost Nadal's image (at the expense of Djokovic's), Djokovic better exceed Federer's tally eventually. Otherwise, there is a real chance that his accomplishments will be discredited, if he lagged both Nadal and Federer, even by 1 slam.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 This is a pattern with Roger, not just this week. For all his greatness, he has been unable to overcome his bias against Novak. (Granted, Novak has given him plenty of reasons to justify that, both on and off the court). One can pick up half a dozen reasons why Novak is extraordinary, and peerless. May be I missed it, but never heard Roger bring to light any of those outstanding achievements.
I agree with you Tahmid. IMHO if Novak wants to protect his legacy and strengthen his bid as the GOAT as he said he wants to win and break records, then he must win the AO2021 and RG2021 as well. Right now he is only 17 on the GS, and if he doesn’t win and the other BIG3 wins it, then he will be 4-5 behind (if Nadal wins both AO & FO 2021). Not a good record for a goat. And if it happens that Nadal won AO2021 then he will be the only player on open era to win all GS at least 2 times in all surfaces. That is another point for Nadal in the goat race. So for me he better atleast defend his title in AO. Plus the time is not on his side as well.
I would not go so far as to say that it is a “must win”, but Djokovic’s best bets are the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He has another 3-4 years to win those majors, so he wants to win as many of those as possible.
@@sahilpanjwani2277 , yes, Djokovic has a reasonable shot at winning another US Open, but I would not count on it. The US Open has been a curse for him. He has made it to the final of the Australian Open 8 times and won all 8 finals, and he has made it to the final of Wimbledon 6 times and won 5 of those. At the US Open, he made it to 8 finals, and only won 3. Also, the US Open is the last major of the year, so the older players are usually banged up by the time if comes around, which is why younger players do better at the US Open.
Next year Aussi Open win is kinda must for Djokovic to win this Slam race, as Rafa looks like real winner with his super performance. He will add 3 French more and could win another US open as well, so Djokovic need to be at his best in Aus/Wimbledon and US open to prevent Nadal. Federer is history as I don't think he has another slam in him.
Rafa does now look like the favourite for the Slam race however we have seen many times over the years how things can change very quickly! But yes Novak will need to get a move on over the next 2/3 years if he is going to overtake Rafa
Djokovic barely held out against Thiem. In my opinion it all depends on the draw. If Thiem and Djokovic end up in the same side of the draw and end up playing for ~5 hrs and Thiem wins, Rafa has a good chance of winning
There is one one oversight here if Theim or Rafa have one 5 setter they are wasted by the next match..due to excessive muscling and power. So any gs ..they can have that problem for sure.He played a half assed zverev and had to go 5 sets to win.Lets not forget Rafa did not have any competition prior to the finals..that might have been the biggest x factor for the game.
No one can be termed as a clear favorite until, at least, the draw is out. What if Nole faces Tsitsipas in QF and Thiem in SF at AO! And then, after 2 five setters he faces a fresh Rafa in finale. Do you not think that this will take a toll on his body? Coming back to Wimbledon, the seeding will be as per the ATP ranking, not by their special seeding formula. So what if there is this lengthy semi final between Roger and Nole! I still believe that if Roger and Nole are out of Rafa's path, he is the top contender to win a 3rd title at the All England Club. Players who can beat Rafa at AO/USO 1. Novak 2. Thiem 3. Tsitsipas Can't see Daniil Medvedev and Alex Zverev taming Rafa yet Players who can beat Rafa on clay 1. Dominic Thiem Players who can beat Rafa on grass 1. Roger 2. Novak I still believe that the big 3 have to be extremely lucky with the draw in order to win a GS(apart from Nadal and FO) Fed doesn't seem to have legs to win another one on hard court or clay. His best chance is Wimbledon. Nole, in order to have maximum slams needs to have one year as '11 or '15. At the moment it seems that he is putting himself under so much pressure and fighting his mental demons. For Rafa, I think he will win one out of AO or USO next year
Tsitsipas has almost no chance against Rafa... ZERO point zero zero one chance... Rafa will attack that single handed backhand and it will be over in a quick straight sets. Tsitsipas said himself, Rafa is the one who all the young guns think is the hardest to beat. They shake when they see him across the net. Everything else I agree with.
Rafa would almost for sure win 2 more RG, maybe one more USO/AO, so he will end his tally 23GS, Novak would probably add 5more that took him to 22GS. As for Fed, no more GS
Djokovic more favoured to win Wimbledon than AusOpen? Totally agree! Interesting how the younger guys haven't mastered grass. Perhaps the grass season is just too short for them concentrate much on their grass games. Maybe grass will become the surface for older players well into the future.
I was thinking about this yesterday. Would you rather have the most GS or the most weeks at #1. Most GS means you were great at a specific short period. Most weeks at #1 is based on your consistent performance throughout the entire year. Then to add most year end #1 is the cherry on the cake. I believe Djokovic will be the last to retire of the Big 3. The next gens are so far behind the Big 3 it took CV 19, Federer injury, Nadal pass at US Open and Djokovic DQ for next gener to win. I believe Djokovic needs points this year as he can only lose points at AO 2021 to break 310
I think his Wimbledon chances are better than Australian Open now!! But yes Those two are his Yard now.. And he must rule at both these places for at least two more years to have a shot at Most Slams
Tahmid mate i think rafa will gona finish at 23-24 slams and nole may surpass fed somehow but tbh i don't think he will gona surpass rafa i think nole will win 20-21 maybe 🧐
I think Nole can win 5 more slams at max(2AO,2 Wimbly and 1 uso,Nadal has at least 2RG's left, but I do think Nole can dominate Grass for a few more years,so Nole and Rafa would have the diffrence of no more than a slam(depends on injuries too) and Nole would have more significant records as weeks at no.1,Masters,year end no.1,but if the diff of slams is +3 for Nadal,he would end as the GOAT It depemds on Nole tbh,his fitness to stretch, return big and controlling prime next gen..
Nadal 23, Djkovic 21, Federer 20... - Novak best in week's and years end at 1st position (maybe 7). - Novak needs gold medal on Olympic in Tokyo, and Nadal needs win on ATP finals to complete their careers. I think if Novak be 1st et the end of 2021 - we can say "he is a GOAT"! 45% If Nadal finish 2021 1st place - "Nadal is a GOAT" 45% If Thiem, Tsitsipas or Zverev finish 2021 and 2022... on 1st place, then maybe Federer can be a GOAT 10%
The Nadal and Djokovic story does not end in 2022. Not a chance, they will both play much longer, in order to try and top each other. So who finishes no.1 in 2021 or 2022 will have zero bearing on the GOAT debate.
I think next gen will like thiem sinner Medvedev are a threat to Djokovic in AO. If Djokovic reaches semi finals in AO, he is going to win it.. Rafa can reach semifinals in AO easily, but further progress will depend upon djokovic reaching semis.
I feel Rafa will surely win 2 more french opens and even though next generation will take over, he could steal 1 more . So that makes it 3 more. And the way he played this year , we may see a new Rafa. So who knows 1 or 2 us opens. Maybe a Wimbledon or AO. So a fair estimate would be 24 to 25.
Yes! I think the indoor tournaments and faster hard courts will be the first to be taken by these two over the big 3. Both of them play phenomenal tennis and make the most of their youth and speed on the fast surfaces
@@brandonm8901 Yup. I was litterally impressed of Sinner's skill at Roland Garros. Normally, hard court players need a few years before "feeling" clay. The fact that Sinner evolved at that level on clay is a sign of potential huge success on all surfaces during the next seasons (and starting up at AO). It bugged me how Sinner seems to be better than Djokovic (more variety, more maturity) and Federer (more mental stability, more variety and power) at the same age (19 years old)
@@taopaille-paille4992 Totally! To beat Goffin and Zverev, then to give Rafa two good sets was really surprising considering his game typically suits faster courts. I believe and hope he can go deep at Paris. It will be really interesting to see if he can play well on grass too, as this is definitely the surface that the other next gen guys have struggled most with so far. Yes is is certainly very mature already, but I can only assume that's because he grew up watching the big 3, and we're going to see a lot of guys come through who will aspire to be like Novak, Roger and Rafa on and off court
I like this collaboration! Nah, I don't think it's a must win. Djokovic will have chances at the other slams next year; more likely Wimbledon and USO is always fair ground. Good points discussed.
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum I do agree, Tahmid. And that in spite his level there being lower than at the AO. It's just that, apart from Nadal, he has no real competition there. I consider Federer's window of opportunity of beating Djokovic in a best of five match to be shut. Ironically enough, he could nevertheless still win Wimbledon, in my opinion. But only if he can avoid Novak. Knowing Roger's mental constitution, there is absolutely no way he can overcome three prior losses in the finals at the hands of Novak that he endured. Not at this age anyway. So it's up only to Nadal to challenge Djokovic at SW19. But not only is Novak ever so slightly better than Rafa at Wimbledon, Rafa is also much more prone to losing to much lesser opponents there, thus not even making it to Novak.
I think this is a must win for Djokovic in stopping Nadal from winning it. I favor Novak as he’s still in good form but I don’t see him catching Rafa if Rafa wins in Australia. You would assume if heathy he gets the French as well which would put him at 22 and Novak 17. Both healthy with two to three years left for Nadal.
Federer's days of winning a Slam are over except at Wimbledon .Raf's vice like grip on RG continues so Djokovic's chances of over taking GS tally of the Federer and Rafa would get dented if he misses out on AO 21.Winning slams in mid 30s on HC is going to become difficult with each passing year.
It's tough to predict who wins the most slams. I think Nadal is in the best position right now because of two things: 1.Djokovic doesn't look as motivated to me as he was in the years of 2011 and 2015 2.Young players struggle to beat Nadal in slams more than against Djokovic The second point is important because, in the long run, it might take its toll on the Djokovic body if he has more tough matches against younger players than Nadal does. And Djokovic, ever since his comeback in 2018 didn't look that convincing to me. Good enough to beat anybody yes, but not as dominant as before. Nadal on the other hand looks comfortable against anybody not named Djokovic or Federer even on the faster surfaces. Still, Djokovic, is a stubborn and persistent athlete and i believe he is going to make a final push to catch up to the other two giants, as a matter of fact, he was always better as the one who chases, than the one being chased. So in my opinion it will come down to the battle of Nadal and Djokovic. On faster surfaces, i think Djokovic will win plenty more slams and will get to 21, 22 maybe in 3 years time, Nadal will also get to 22 for sure. I predict that Nadal and Djokovic will retire with 25 grand slam titles and Federer with 22. Federer will win 2 in the next 2 years and will retire in the end of 2022 i think. That i think is their final count. And Djokovic will play maybe a year, or two longer than Nadal. Also, we will see Nadal lose at Roland Garros, i dont know will it be in the final and to Djokovic, but he will lose one more time for sure. As will Djokovic in Australia. In the end, i think Djokovic will hold most records and end up as the most successful, but it will be up to interpretation who was the better player of the three.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Federer had his best shot playing his best tennis against a substandard djokovic and still blew it. He won't get it like that against djokovic again.
I dont think it is a must win for Djokovic as he will be a favorite in 3 majors a year for the next 2 to 3 years. As you mentioned in the podcast, Wim is Djokovic best chance as the next gen did poorly so far at wimbledon. if Fed maintains top 5 ranking next year, draws will get tougher for both Rafa and Novak and it will come down to who avoids 2 of the 3 (Theim, Tsitsipas and Med) in Aus and US open. Fitness and injury free will be major factors for these guys as they closer to 35. Also it is getting difficult to envision Novak or Rafa winning more than 2 slams a year going forward. So i feel winning at least 2 more Wimbledon will be crucial for Djoko to stay in contention in the slam race and Rafa could settle it with 2 non clay majors. Honestly, 20,20,17 itself sounds like a whole a lot and fans shouldn't be concerned as to who ends up with the most as each of these guys already accomplished so much that people will speak about their careers synonymously in the future without singling anyone out just because one player won couple of majors more than the other 2. Also regarding Next Gen, similar to Lorenzo, Korda, Med (2019), Tsitsipas (2018), we cant predict which next gen player unknown to a lot of people might just come into force in the next couple of years without much prior warning. I remember watching Medvedev live in an 2017 ATP250 tournament final playing against Agut and thought this guy lacks any serious power and only has a good serve and wouldnt win much in his career but 2 years later he is in top 5 and a force to be reckoned with on the tour now. So we cant really predict when one of these players might just flip a switch and pose a threat to big 3. For the good of tennis, let there be more competition at the top and in the majors
Yes, he would be out of the race already if Roger had taken those match points last year...must win aus next year..must..at least the french though..the next two slams are career defining in a way..

Novak is not invincible in Hard courts as Rafa in clay , Rafa has 5 hard court slams against only one claycourt of Novak. I see Rafa going big time for Melbourne and if he applies to excel ,it will be difficult for Novak. Also ,thiem is not very far behind Novak in hard courts.
I won't be surprised if rafa wins 20 FO titles. Sounds difficult but is it impossible ? NO I mean who can beat him ? Novak ? Not sure Thiem ? He runs out of steam if he plays a 5 setter in previous matches.
Looking how Rafa played this year Rolland Garros make me think that he can win 4,5 more..who knows how many of RG. He is favorite in my opinion to be holder of the most GS titles. Next year is for Novak very crucial. He needs to win at least 2 GS in order to get closer to Rafa ( I think he will win at least one ) Its gonna be very tough. Novak is older and older and younger tennis players are geting better. We shouldnt forget about Thiem,Cicipas,Medvedev... And we absolutely shouldnt forget about Federer who will be ready and motivated to win more GS. If Novak wins just one or none GS next year, the race is pretty much over for Novak in my opinion.
If motivation is such a big factor, than please don't count me out either :) All joking aside, as long as Novak and Rafa sit at no.1 and 2 in the rankings, you can comfortably count Federer out, as he would almost certainly have to beat at least one, if not both, of them in order to win a slam. And he will achieve no such feat anymore, not in a best of five match at least.
If he loses and Rafa wins it, he is more likely to win Roland Garros again. I don't think Nole will like Nadal to lead him with five slams. I think the new / next generation guys are going to put pressure on the big three from 2021, so Nole must win in Australia. I think the likes of Rublev are going to start doing well in Wimbledon soon.
I think it would be hard to win Aus open 2021 for Novak because either rafa or roger want to compete each other and beat the record and win the Australian open 2021. I think Rafa or Roger would win.
Djokovic only need to reach the final of AO, and his win is guaranteed. If the rankings stays the same untill next year, we could see djoko vs (federer/tsitsipas/medvedev) , nadal vs thiem in semi.

Remember 2017/2018? or when literally everyone said Novak is done/finished especially his exit in Australian Open 2018? At one point, Novak was at 12 slams, Nadal 17, Roger 20. Now its 17,20,20.. I think next year( if the tour returns to normal ), it will be 19,20,20, or 19, 21,20. The point is Nadal will be 35 next year, it would be insane to go through all the tournaments in the tour fully fit and win. He could at best maybe win 1-2 masters, 1 500's, 1 slam next year. Novak can win 3 masters, 2 500's, 2 slams. The next gen are catching up, but no one will be as dominant as the big3. Thiem maybe wins 2 masters next year, medvdev maybe 2, tsitsipas 1..
Have to think that it would almost certainly be 18,20,20 if Wimbledon wasn't cancelled this year, and maybe even 19,20,20 if a certain accident didn't happen at the US .... These guys are too good

Nadal is playing the BEST EVER on clay that anyone or tapes I have watched my entire life on ANY surface. Novak actually played really well at the French Open finals - most of what commentators called "unforced" errors are actually VERY "forced" by the crazy variation of spins that come off from Nadal. Persons who have played at any level against players like Nadal will realize what I mean!!
Rafa just needs to find a way to muscle tears or pulls or other injuries as his style of play requires extraordinary physical stretch. Almost the opposite of Pete Sampras or even Stefan Edberg whose styles just "flowed" with minimal physical stress and whose points were typically shorter.
Djokovic biggest threat at Wimbledon is Rafa he is playing some good tennis at grass in AO his biggest threat I think Theim he would have defeated this year if he would have not chocked at the final US open Nadal is favourite.

I think Nadal wins at least 2 more slams. That means Djokovic needs 6 more slams minimum to finish with the most slams. But Nadal could quite easily win 4 or 5 more slams if he dominates the French Open for a few more years. That means Djokovic needs 8-9 more slams. That would be really difficult to pull off. Initially I thought Djokovic would end up with the most slams, but now that Nadal has an almost guaranteed slam from the French Open every year, I think Nadal finishes with the most.
Rafa would almost for sure win 2 more RG, maybe one more USO/AO, so he will end his tally 23GS, Novak would probably add 5more that took him 22GS. As for Fed, no more GS

Novak has most weeks as player no.1 in the world 4. Only player in history that has all masters titles (and now has TWICE each title) 5. He will be at the end of 2020 player with most years finishing as No. 1 6. Only player in history that had all 4 GS tournaments in same moment
Most definitely! He needs a "safe" GS, so he needs to win it comfortably in 2021 and even 2022 to get to 19 and try to overtake Nadal by performing well at Wimbledon and USO. Can't imagine Nadal not getting to 22+ at this point. All about the slams next year after Nole confirms time spent at no.1 GOAT status to go with his already-claimed Masters 1000 GOAT status. Djokovic blew a great chance at the US open. He could have easily won it. Despite that he'll demonstrate how badass he is in the news years.
One thing to consider is how well the next 4-8 ranked players have improved which may result in long matches starting from quarters. This may prove difficult for the big ‘3’ often resulting in unpredictable results.
Yep ofcourse, and with the inevitable decline coming from the big 3 their stranglehold over the slams will loosen
This is the key factor that we won't know until it happens.
Well that’s assuming that Nadal doesn’t win any other majors and if Novak wins another 2-3 AO that’s over 10 in the worst major
You got a good point here.

Hey guys, great podcast!
Couple of points from a long time tennis fan:
- Thiem looked more than ready even in 2020, so he is gonna be major thread on hard/clay going onwards.

Hello it’s not about GS only. It’s about everything.
Indeed it's not, but probably the most important and sought after record
In golf Tiger woods spent almost 700 weeks at number and has something like 8 more total victories than Jack Nicklaus. Nevertheless Jack Nicklaus is considered the greatest golfer of all time because he leads tiger in majors 18-15. Tiger Woods would be the first to say Jack is the greatest.
Most tennis pundits considered Fed the GOAT because of his 20 major victories not because of his 310 weeks at number one. Pete Sampras who once held the records for most major victories, most year end number ones and most weeks at number one considered the slam record by far his most important.
GOATdal 😂😂😂
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum The most important definietly, but if they finish with the similar number of GS,especially Rafa and Novak, other records needs to be taken into consideration. Rafa really needs to be atleast 2-3 GS minimum better than Novak because every other important record is in Novak's favour (masters titles,Year end no1) and he will break Federer's weeks at No1 record in March.
You are right that hell probably enter every non clay tournament as favourite but being the favourite doesn't always get you the trophy
Novak and his fans will be hoping
That thiem finally steps up his game and wins the deserved french open titles in the next year's to stop Rafa

With Nadal showing no signs of not winning French then Djokovic really needs to pull back at least 1 a year
Indeed I agree, Novak will need a very good next 2/3 years if he is going to win this Slam race between the Big 3

Rafa and Novak will end up with 25.
Fed will end up with 22.
The GOAT battle will end up being between Rafa and Novak.
Nice job Tahmid. Keep up the great work young man 👍
😳 25 for nole and rafa !!?? 😳
May be 22 - 24.. its tough to decide who will lead.. but yes.. its a fight between nole and rafa from the beginning of this decade.. most didnt see this coming but 2011 was convincing enough for me when nole proved himself by beating prime rafa !!!
@@brandonm8901 Federer ? Come on... He will not win any GS anymore...
Rafa would almost for sure win 2 more RG, maybe one more USO/AO, so he will end his tally 23GS, Novak would probably add 5more that took him 22GS. As for Fed, no more GS

My 2 cents
Yep never write off the big 3! I can still see another 2 to 3 years of them winning the large majority of slams
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum I think that the FAB 3 will decide for how long to keep winning. At the moment only Thiem is fitter than them. But he's very emotional too. I can't see any other player beating them on their favourite courts (best of 5).

2021 predictions
Djokovic Aus ,SW19 and US open
Nadal RG
2022 Aus open djokovic will tie GS tally with Nadal
Thank you Ibrahim! Winning 3 slams next year would be mega for Novak
Clay is not hardcourt. Nadal has not beaten Novak on HC in YEARS
Bro, Nadal doesn't stand a chance against Novak at AO, this was RG, clay, not hardcourt.
VAMOs GOATdal!!!
Thank you for the kind words and glad you enjoyed this little mini series! We shall see how Rafa performs on hard courts next year of course
That's a good point. There is barely any competition in SW19. Only the Big 3! Probably that's what will make Fed going for another few years. Djoker will be the Favorite with Fedal right behind to snatch it. Will be interesting nest few years
Yep does seem like Wimbledon is Novaks better chance of a slam than on hard courts now which is quite funny!
Which i am sure is going Djokovic's way
The last 1/3rd is Combination of Masters 1000 and World Tour Finals..
Djokovic was not beating Rafa here. You know that, I know that, Rafa knows that, Novak knows that.

The reason I ask this is because since 2016 Novak has really struggled in the USO like Roger Federer did at a similar age. When Djokovic has played a full season since 2016 he seems to fall short in the USO. 2016, he was injured and lost the final, 2017 he withdrew, 2018 he won but he didn't play a full season, 2019 he retired injured and 2020 a default.

I used to think djokovic would definitely surpass nadal but now I'm not so sure. Interested to see how this all plays out
Very well said and I think everyone is in the same boat.. as now it looks almost inevitable that Rafa will win another couple of RG titles atleast and perhaps more in USO or others!
Well done tahmid 🎾💪🔥
thank you rupak!
That would make it 21-20-20 and it will be very open for 2022
At age 33-34 Novak will never win three slams in one year.

Yes It was Absolutely A Must Win for Novak and Boy did he Pull it Off!!
Unbelievable performance from Novak, my review video uploading as I type this! :)
With Federer working overtime to boost Nadal's image (at the expense of Djokovic's), Djokovic better exceed Federer's tally eventually. Otherwise, there is a real chance that his accomplishments will be discredited, if he lagged both Nadal and Federer, even by 1 slam.
Federer working overtime? LOL! All he did was congratulate Nadal on his 20th Slam.
May be I missed it, but never heard Roger bring to light any of those outstanding achievements.
next gens are waiting for challenging djokovic in AO 2021
Who's his biggest challenge? (not including big 3 or Thiem)
They've been waiting for so long already. They will grow old waiting. Wait, can they get older than Rafa and Novak waiting? :)
I think Djokovic will certainly have a huge motivation to redeem himself with 2 majors next year. 10 AOs will be a King of HC label for Djokovic!
Once he has weeks at number 1 secured he has stated he will then solely focus on slamd
Said is easier than done!!! Older gets harder!!! You can not go against natural law!!!
Is Rogers 8 Wimbledon titles under threat to be matched or beaten by Novak at this point?
He still can win the US open
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum for sure
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum I definitely think Novak can match Federer's 8, but I don't think he will break that record.
The draws are seemingly more and more important recently with the rise of Dominic in the past couple of years!
Players who can beat Rafa at AO/USO
1. Novak
2. Thiem
3. Tsitsipas
Can't see Daniil Medvedev and Alex Zverev taming Rafa yet
Players who can beat Rafa on clay
1. Dominic Thiem
Players who can beat Rafa on grass
1. Roger
2. Novak
I still believe that the big 3 have to be extremely lucky with the draw in order to win a GS(apart from Nadal and FO)
Fed doesn't seem to have legs to win another one on hard court or clay.
GOATdal
Djokovic more favoured to win Wimbledon than AusOpen? Totally agree! Interesting how the younger guys haven't mastered grass. Perhaps the grass season is just too short for them concentrate much on their grass games. Maybe grass will become the surface for older players well into the future.
They seem to have focused a lot more on honing their games for hard courts and are just better equipped.. We shall see ofcourse
He will not lose points from AO even if he lose in round 1,players are not losing points until March.

I think his Wimbledon chances are better than Australian Open now!! But yes Those two are his Yard now.. And he must rule at both these places for at least two more years to have a shot at Most Slams
Novak needs more than just that, as Nadal has the high ground.
Tahmid mate i think rafa will gona finish at 23-24 slams and nole may surpass fed somehow but tbh i don't think he will gona surpass rafa i think nole will win 20-21 maybe 🧐
I think Nole can win 5 more slams at max(2AO,2 Wimbly and 1 uso,Nadal has at least 2RG's left, but I do think Nole can dominate Grass for a few more years,so Nole and Rafa would have the diffrence of no more than a slam(depends on injuries too) and Nole would have more significant records as weeks at no.1,Masters,year end no.1,but if the diff of slams is +3 for Nadal,he would end as the GOAT
It depemds on Nole tbh,his fitness to stretch, return big and controlling prime next gen..
Yep.. looks like this.
If Nadal finish 2021 1st place - "Nadal is a GOAT" 45%
If Thiem, Tsitsipas or Zverev finish 2021 and 2022... on 1st place, then maybe Federer can be a GOAT 10%
Federer is hardly goat now. He is only so, because his fans bring up the slams tally and weeks no1. Both will be broken eventually.
The Nadal and Djokovic story does not end in 2022. Not a chance, they will both play much longer, in order to try and top each other. So who finishes no.1 in 2021 or 2022 will have zero bearing on the GOAT debate.
@@KarabauPlay Yeah, Federer is already just a roadkill in the race between Nadal and Djokovic.

Nadal will only be 7 months older at next year's F.O.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 like he was only 18 months older from last years french open and look at how he played!!
Sinner and Tsitsipas will be the most dangerous players of 2021 outside of the big 3 (or big 2, but hopefully big 3). Then Thiem
Do you agree that Wimbledon could be Novaks most likely slam now? And thank you! :)
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum It could be, yes. Anytime, Tahmid 👍.
Well said thank you for sharing your thoughts.. Is the tide turning towards Rafa ending with the most slams?
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum its not turning its turned already
Shall we wait till AO 21?
It's tough to predict who wins the most slams. I think Nadal is in the best position right now because of two things:
1.Djokovic doesn't look as motivated to me as he was in the years of 2011 and 2015
2.Young players struggle to beat Nadal in slams more than against Djokovic
The second point is important because, in the long run, it might take its toll on the Djokovic body if he has more tough matches against younger players than Nadal does.
You can forget about Federer winning another slam unless he has a cakewalk draw and no Djokovic in the final.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Federer had his best shot playing his best tennis against a substandard djokovic and still blew it. He won't get it like that against djokovic again.
@@drtash21 A substandard Novak will be happening more often as he is 33 years old.He was pushed to five sets in his last two slam finals.
Rafa will break Federer record
Yes, he would be out of the race already if Roger had taken those match points last year...must win aus next year..must..at least the french though..the next two slams are career defining in a way..

Thank.you for this video Tahmed.
The Djoker wins at the next season AO,FO and Wimbledon.
Rafa will win the US Open.
Thank you for the kind words my friend! And wow predicting Novak for next year's FO is brave...
No rafa will win F.O and US open. Novak will not win F.O.
The next gen have figured out Novak they have wins against him play him tough, they get crushed by nadal.
Djokovic biggest threat at Wimbledon is Rafa he is playing some good tennis at grass in AO his biggest threat I think Theim he would have defeated this year if he would have not chocked at the final US open Nadal is favourite.
It is time to divide the tennis world in 4 and let countries put up bids to host the majors. Ridiculous that only these 4 countries will ever host tennis majors. Even Olympics and world cups move around. Why can't much smaller event like tennis major be shared.
Each region must keep the same surface

Federer is biggest threat not Nadal at Wimbledon.
If Novak doesn't win the AO in Jan, then he 'll likely finish with 2-3 majors at most. Rafa 2-3 more majors for him. Fed has one last shot at Wim in 2021 then he's done. I don't see either Rafa or Novak winning more then 4 majors.
40:15 Federer 😁
Man I want Nadal Djokovic to play as long as they could.because other than tennis no source of entertainment for me
You will have Jannik Sinner, Tsitsipas, Federer and Thiem to entertain yourself. Also, I hope the best for you and that you can find some other things that you are happy to do. If you do, invest yourself in it, and work. Believe in you. All the best

Novak will struggle to get past 20 -21 slams. Young guns Thiem and Nadal in the way. Rafa with 22 and novak 20 -21. Who knows what the future holds we may be seeing these 2 exceeding our lofty expectations even more.

GOATdal is coming to plant that 🇪🇸in Novak’s territory AGAIN 😂😂😂😂VAMOS!!!!
That woukd confirm his GOAT status if that were to happen.. but i doubt... i will give 30 to 40 % max chances of him winning.
It may be a nextgen winning aus open this time.. if nole defends its commedable.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao, he won 1 in Novak's AO, in 2009🤣🤣
@@andrejmitrovic4958 and Chokevak won one on rafas house (when Rafa was injured) 😂!!!!!
Rafa lost
As for Fed, no more GS
well said and in some ways agree with you, how things can change so quickly in the tennis world eh!
@@TahmidSalehTennisForum "in some ways agree with you" but in other ways you don't :P where don't you agree? (i don't mind you saying, i won't be offended!)
Novak is already GOAT, here are the facts :
1. Novak has most major titles (GS+masters+final masters)
2. Novak has the best h2h score both against Rafa and Federer.
3. Novak has most weeks as player no.1 in the world
4. Only player in history that has all masters titles (and now has TWICE each title)
5. He will be at the end of 2020 player with most years finishing as No. 1
6. Only player in history that had all 4 GS tournaments in same moment
Some daunting stats and records... But does he need the most slams to make it official?
Most definitely! He needs a "safe" GS, so he needs to win it comfortably in 2021 and even 2022 to get to 19 and try to overtake Nadal by performing well at Wimbledon and USO. Can't imagine Nadal not getting to 22+ at this point. All about the slams next year after Nole confirms time spent at no.1 GOAT status to go with his already-claimed Masters 1000 GOAT status. Wouldn't mind writing off the clay season next year altogether to prep for the "Wimbledon, Olympic Games, USO" trio next year which might prove to be the biggest couple of months in his career as far as his legacy is concerned.
Nadal will recapture masters 1000 lead during next year's Clay season.
That is a very good point
He will need to focus more on the trio than playing on clay (where he is the 3rd favourite at all tournaments)
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 with a double Golden Career Masters, I'm fairly sure Novak hss earned the title of GOAT regarding Masters ;)
@@velikoslovog7526 that will depend on how many masters they have when they retire.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Maybe if Nadal get double golden master, as well as if he holds the most master titles. Currently Djoković have two golden masters, while Nadal don't have a single one, Djokovic also need another Monte Carlo + Cincinnati to get his third golden master. Also Djoković currently have more masters. However even if Nadal surpass him, because of golden masters Djoković is the GOAT of masters.
Nadal can win only the French open. If he is playing Djokovic or Federer against in any other tournament apart from CLAY...he is not going to win...He is having only one advantage is clay...because.. ball reaching the floor it has bounce and slows down....Nadal is having advantage of using this placing the ball where ever he wanted...that's it..

2-1 against novak in US open
@@guilhermestringheta2902this happened long back.. not recently...
Rafael Nadal is going to win at least four slams in next two and half years... At least two French open one Us open and one Australian open or Wimbledon...4 out of 10.. It's difficult for Novak to over take Rafa..
Pretty brave from you ro assume Rafa will win AO or WB.
@@dushandvr5765 yes why not ?? He can beat anyone on any surface.. if not 24 ...23 is sure.
@@AftabAlam-fg1ru You don't even remember when Rafa won AO and WB last time obviously. He can't beat Novak on hard. Only if Novak plays really low level tennis,Nadal has a chance on hard,he is not young anymore to run after every ball.
@@dushandvr5765 ok wait and see.. Novak is 55:45 on hard courts I admit but Nadal has a chance always.... Count the semi final finals he played on hard and Grass... If Federer has no chance and Novak is just an younger than Rafa .... This is my point bro.
@@AftabAlam-fg1ru Bro you give Novak only 55-45 chances against Rafa while Novak haven't lost against him on hard for 7 years and even didn't lose a set...interesting. And btw Rafa now is even more vulnerable in AO and WB,he is slower, younger players are ready to beat him on hard gs,Nadal barely won against Medvedev in Uso 2019 and lost to Thiem in AO 2020. You can hope of course.
I think Djokovic will end up with 10 Australian Opens, 7 Wimbledon’s, 4 US Opens and 1 French Open. Nadal will end up with 15 French Opens, 4 US Opens, 2 Wimbledons and 1 Australian Opens. So they will be tied at 22 apiece. Federer is done winning majors.
