Thanks Keith. I also owned the KX1, K1, K2, and K3 (all at QRP level) but when I got my KX3 I sold the K1, K2, and K3 and kept the KX1 for a backup radio. It was just too cute, too sophisticated for its size, and too portable to let go! The K1, K2 and K3 were all fantastic rigs but for a 100% QRPer, the KX3 with dual watch is the premier radio. Wasn't much sense in letting the other gear gather dust...73, Stan
The stand is an acrylic stand made specifically for the KX3 by Nifty! Ham Accessories. They can be found at niftyaccessories period com. Excellent quality, reasonable price, well made, and stable enough to allow keying the KX3 with either the Begali Adventure or the original KX3PD with no stability problems. KX3 sits on it by using it's own rear legs. 73, Stan.
Nice vid Stan, I have the KX1, K1, K2 & K3. I bought the KX1 off Ebay for £300, but I built the others. I love the KX1 and it is great as a SOTA /fun rig. For its size I think it is a very sophisticated bit of kit, I love the performance! I made a few vids of the K1, K2 and K3. Cheers Keith GW4OKT

Hi Stan, you're rather a KX3 expert. I have one, and a Begali Adventure (iambic) and love it, but I want to be able to plug N1MM into the KX3 to control keying, and maybe use the Adventure on the magnetic base plugged into the square connector on the front of the KX3 where the Elecraft paddle plugs in. Have you seen a place to get that weird square connector? By the way, your video helped me decide to get the Adventure! Best 73, Vic, VE3YT, vicd@uwaterloo.ca
There was some discussion on the Elecraft Reflector awhile back on that "weird square connector". Either look in the archives, put a fresh message out on the reflector....or just call Elecraft Parts and ask for the proper term for the item. 73, Stan
Begali really has some amazing machining; they are true works of art!

"You can never have too many keys." Amen brother! :) My Iambic adventure is making its way over the ocean.

What was the stand you had your KX3 on?
At least the dog didn't drop the kx1. Smf! Hi Hi
No, she's a good dog around my radios. But she has this bad habit of playing with the spoiler handle.....
