- With this new season on iRacing, we’ve got Dave Cam taking on a different fun car and track combination from the back of the grid every week, trying to make as many positions up through the events. It’s called Dave Cam’s Zero to Hero series, and it’s all about the fun this go around. No points, no worries.
Well, maybe some worries with Dave’s Safety Rating. You see, Dave is taking on the iRacing iR-04 this week at the Red Bull Ring, an amazing 4.32-kilometer, 2.683-mile track located in Austria. While this combination does offer fantastic racing, it also offers its own brand of chaos and calamity.
Dave nearly gave up after three DNFs due to crash damage, all of which killed both his iRating and his Safety Rating, but maybe the fourth time is the charm? Starting from the 15th starting spot, can Dave avoid the carnage, rescue his SR, and survive until the end?
Well, that’s probably likely, since we’ve got a full video today. However, the ending may surprise you… stay tuned!

Gotta admire the commitment from Kazushi to attain villain status at the end there
Let’s say goodbye to Kazushi, at least he’ll have more time to make homework after the school.
Once again, Dave showing impressive character and composure under significant pressure and frustration - something we can all learn from.
Perhaps it's worth considering if Zero to Hero might better apply to regaining Safety Rating? Can he resist getting 'racey'? Probably not!
Ultimately, thanks to Dave's persistence we got a good race and an outstanding result, all things considered.
(Perhaps disappointed #15 wasn't the Biggest Loser with 19 incident points, Dave skipped car #1 losing a whopping -128!)
I was just about to comment on Dave missing the biggest iRating loser.
Good stuff. Too bad people need to be that way, it's not necessary. Watch the replay first, that's the best you've given. Thanks for the content.

That's definatley one to report. He had more than enough room and the incident at the end was absolutely premeditated murder.
The stuff after the race ended was ridiculous, hands down.
As to the initial incident . . . My tactic, especially knowing how over-aggressive he was being, would have been to follow him about a car length or two behind and just let him think about me. I'm thinking he would have eventually out-driven himself - probably overcooked one of the carousels - and then I'd just motor on by. It's not absolute, but I've noticed people like that are usually pretty easy to bait into moving themselves. It doesn't work every single time, but it's usually safer, I've found, than engaging with someone determined to gain / hold position by any means necessary.
Am I making sense?

Tried racing 4 times and all 4 times was crashed by others in the most ridiculous ways. One of the best combos for driving but the quality of racing on RBR is downright awful Lost 100 IR and definitely not racing till next week.

I think that Kazushi should learn to sort out his problems after the race in chat, rather than murder people after race without a word of dialogue. Shameful display.
