I used to work at 401 Richmond. So much cool stuff to check out in there and the exhibits are constantly changing. It always surprises me how few people outside of the art community seem to know it exists. I recommend checking it out during Doors Open Toronto, since you get a chance to go into the studios that are normally kept private!

Agree its a great artsy place! Not sure if there is a cool items store still there but I used to enjoy it a lot too.

Just a little note, the Arthur Conan Doyle Room is a permanent installation at the Reference Library - it's been there since 1977. The collection first opened in 1971 in the then called Central Reference Library at College and St George (1909 to 1977, which is still standing and it is now the Koffler Student Services Centre for U of T).

Loved this video. Thank you for sharing. Another gem you should check out are the painted garages between Shaw and Ossington in a back alley just north of the CP rail track. They were painted by students from Rosedale School of the Arts.❤

FYI re: Osgoode Hall - the security being tight ... this is due to a barrister being shot a few years back, by a disgruntled person at the entrance to the Hall.

It's a shame what Kensington Market appears to be now compared to what it was for decades. Stores had merchants and products from all over the world. The best cheese stores with a large selection, the butcher shops with great selections, fresh veggies from the farms, flowers, desserts, jewellers, clothing shops, repair shops, etc.... You name it was there. I lived in Toronto for 22 years and I was there every Saturday with everyone else buying my food for the week and whatever else I might need. I used to get huge veal steaks for the barbecue. I still remember them to this day. There was also a variety of small restaurants with cuisine from everywhere, artists on the streets. Everybody was there every Saturday to shop for food for the week and spend the day. Now someone told me that it turned into Chinatown and that it's not safe to go there. Sadly, your video seems to confirm this.

Lived in Toronto for 27 years (7 of them downtown) Kensington has always been exactly the same (actually it's better now more unique places opened). Maybe back in 80s but not in 90s, not sure what you're talking about sorry. Sketchiness was aaaalways there all these 27 years

Agreed! Our country is saturated by Indians senior citizen “free healthcare and old age pension for all and Indian students pooping on our beaches and taking over all our kids libraries and jobs! Ontario is becoming India 🇮🇳 makes me want to throw up 🤮

Please go back where you came from. Well, to be honest, the Pearson Airport (one corner of it) is really cool place for spotting planes. Though Billy Bishop airport is really a gem.
