Ive seen the construction boom in Thailand in the early 90s.
And now in the Philippines, the construction is from Luzon Visayas and Mindanao.
The one on going in Clark is a mega city.
Both Private and Public Construction are now competing in Construction development.
Squatters are being slowly relocated.Quezon city which is lacking in Hotel infrastructure is booming.
Relocation of govt. Institutions to Clark are underway. Tourism infrastructure is all busy with hotels everywhere.we have a young educated population that will provide faster growth in our Economy for the next 10 years. Poverty incidence index will be reduced due to employment demand of PRRDs build build build program.the infrastructure build up has started and going 24hrs in some road and mrt projects .it will be a very busy economic activity for the Philippines in the next 15 years.

Don't worry guys. I've seen demolition of squatters near the airport, in Paranaque, Quezon City, Makati, Manila's esteros.
In Pasig, demolition is on going along the floodway. Each family is given P20K to P50K by the government for them to be relocated or go back to their provinces. As per census, 99% of these informal settlers originally came from the provinces. They started to proliferate the National Capital Region in late 80s when the county experienced the worst economic crisis.
Since 2001, the country's economy is growing without any interruptions. Outside Metro Manila, cities and provinces are also growing fast. Cheers.

Government should also invest in its people by improving quality and standard of education. We need a lot of well educated, well trained and professional trades people there. If you look at our construction workers they are great at what they do but they could not improve their quality of life because their employers see them as non professionals, hence, they are given poor pay rates and are forced to work without benefits and insurances. Same as with the automobile mechanics, electricians and heavy equipment techs. They should be licensed and certified so employers will honor their knowledge and skills.

Did some social work years ago surveying some squatters area, most are rooted from provinces, and not even the near by regions, most are from far flung parts of the Philippines. Most of the original families from Manila are well educated professionals and have titled houses and properties. I would say though, any big city has it's slums, some are just better with hiding it, in very tall apartment buildings, peaking inside will reveal it's not so much different from the slums of Manila. And the poor population actually makes Manila one of the cheapest metropolitan city to live in.

Geocinia Tolosa dont worry, development in provinces are being push too, so we dont all have to flock in Metro Manila. the discipline and growth was stalled when they remove Marcos in Edsa revolution, there was even talk that those squatters started during Edsa revolution they got people from provinces to join every rallies in the Capital then after there’s no discipline anymore under the leadership of incompetent puppets like the Aquinos. Me, personally, I would rather live in other beautiful provinces of Philippines like Batanes, Baguio, Bohol, Palawan, Camiguin, Siargao, Cotabato, Tawi-Tawi, and so many too choose from 7,000 plus islands of Philippines. We have to trust Almighty Father Abba, so we can help our nation grow and no poor will be left behind.

for those who sees this video of metro manila in different view, all i can say is that MM or the entire PH, still a work in progress. there are still lot more to do in and out. nevertheless, i could humbly say that PH right now is a glass half full, or a little bit near that level, from being empty....

Hmmmm Mindanao's cities and provinces still need some 'fixing'. Though it has many beautiful aspects to see, it's still kinda lacking when it comes to infrastructures. Nevertheless, the Panguil Bay Bridge is currently being constructed (it will connect Tangub and Tubod). And also, the planned railway that Im not sure of it's already being constructed lmao

The last time I was in the PI was 2011 before I relocated to US. Back then I stayed in Makati & Serenda 2 condo by a Filipina sister had me stayed newly developed & still adding condos. I enjoyed Makati Mall right across the street & Farmers Market. Went to BCG outdoor mall behind Serenda. Had an executive checkup & dental work done so cheap & still good till this day... Now there’s other developments I am so amazed. PI was my mini vacation & shopping closer to Guam than USA 🇺🇸 which is only 3hrs away. Now it’s so far away & Covid doesn’t help much in traveling ...

      best way,provide student
loan with a very low interest,
pay back at least 10 yrs.
with +2 yrs of grace period.
      b/c all the institutes are
belong to the people of Philippines.
and gov. loan for private institutes too.
and the expenses in state u is
      very cheap.and I don’t believe
the poor can get entrance exam.
to the state u,only the middle class
and the rich can do that.the poor
are not ready to fight in entrance
      exam.

These are all epic. But all highrises are either being height reduced, or cancelled. We need to step up our heights for a bit, like Grand Hyatt.
Icone Tower is currently groundbreaking, but in very slow progress. We still hope for that tower to exist.

BGC is the only modern small city. Makati I lived there before and visited last April and some areas has narrow sidewalk congested and broken cement sidewalk all over even close to SM mega mall. It has deteriorated and lacked maintenance. Local government should fixed it and clean the trash.

I was so happy to see the big developments in the Philippines after 25 years that I have not been back home. In 2007, my son saw a really big difference. The biggest problem now is the traffic or transportations, there should be a separate road for bus and tricycles and jeepneys - it’s so frustrating to be home after 3 hours on a 10 mile trip!
