I think the Android Auto is being omitted from VW Group cars going ahead because of data privacy concerns from Google. However, I am not 100% sure.
You know Thomas is getting serious with his review when he pulls out his folding rule xD
I really like the exterior design, the interior has a unique touch to it & I have to admit it is one of the best looking VW vans I have ever seen.

I have a T5.1 132kw 6 spd crewvan, I love it, just a big practical 5 seat station wagon.
Remember if the tailgate has been open for a while in the rain, get out of the way when you close it or you might as well have stood in the rain anyway, instant drenching, you only forget once!!

Thank you for short and concise presentation( because not a lot changed!) T6 Caravelle owner here.Cosmetic changes outside, more car like updates inside which I like!All exciting things optional and costly as always! Why on assistance screen 7:26 is GOLF not VAN? I will wait for T7 in 2- 3 years. Not interested in EV prosthetics, and I refuse to be beta tester for it! Rather wait for TRUE EV in couple of years. still manual handbrake?

Interesting info about the T6.1 product update, Thomas. Many thanks for showing us the new dashboard. I've driven many miles in a T5a LWB Hi-Top 130 auto, and I loved it, so I am biased! But it had a great driving position, great ride and wasn't too wide for narrow back roads or tight city streets. You asked, so I'll say I personally prefer the Transporter to a V-Class!

It's amazing how VW manages to sell the same design to people all the time. Apparently they don't want anything special...I mean, you could replace the rear and head lights with third party parts and that's it. The interior has this craftsmen or delivery van feeling, no matter how they try to raise the quality and optics.

I think that is the ultimate design for the Bulli GM like I grew up around the vw bus, and drove one when I became old enough. Also the GM safari was the last vehicle I owned, so will this be sold in the U.S.?Mercedes has created a niche with their metris line so they may be value for vw.

Thanks, interesting / helpful review as always... Was at Geneva show on Friday, checking both V Class and this 6.1. While there are some clever interior solutions with 6.1 (eg super-easy to rotate chairs in 6.1, slide bench, etc) the instrument panel seems somehow cluttered. As if the virtual + physical combo instrument panel at 6.1 needs a bit more 'refinement'. A lot of randomly distributed buttons and this 'big thing' protruding from the dash... Also, the super-super-super hard door plastic is somewhat disappointing - albeit seems as VW 'signature' detail these days... V class on the other hand even with older Command system seems much more luxurious inside, as if in whole different class of cars. I've checked the plastic in V class displayed (grey one with striped interior) and surprisingly it did not wobble, or squeak - maybe MB listened to feedback and changed the behind the scenes dash fixture / assembly process? New engines and gearbox also make sense with lowered CO2 / consumption / vibration, etc. Will be interesting to compare them on the road. Thanks

So sad that VW and Benz didt provide a hybrid in 2020 !! Full electric is good for the city, but for camping/touring we still need a "real" engine......thats why a hybrid would be perfect for exactly these kind of vans where we can use them as a daily car and camping (Cali and Marco Polo) whenever we want.
Even Benz made a Diesel Hybrid for another model, then why did they not provide that engine in the V Class .........?????
I think the answer is, that the Hybrid version will be to heavy for the platform.
They are already challenged in the full eletric version..
Does anyone know if this car is a mechanical handbrake or an electronic handbrake?
It´s the manual as the t5 and t6

It is only a minor update to non structural parts, so chance is very low

@@OhhDaarBenJePerry Having owned T2, T25, T4 and T5's aplenty, I know what I'm talking about. This is basically a T5 from fifteen years ago but in drag. Sorry not at all convinced. Time for an all new design VW.
