Congratulations to Yastramenska, you played outstanding and is definitely one for the future. For Wang though, this was a match that was just too much for her. She has played so many matches in a short amount of time and it caught up to her. Don't forget she had to finish off Svitolina and then be in another match that was over 2 and a half hours against Muguruza, so physically and mentally she wasn't there and I think had Zhang got through, the same fate would have happened. Tennis is a tough sport, I should know, i just played it today lol
First i was amazed by naomi osaka then later i was awestruck by wang qiang now my jaws are wide open in disbelief seeing dayana yastremska ..these girls are tougher than most boys !
hey fellow tennis fans, we have a tennis group on Whatsapp with members from around the world, where we discuss both Men's and Women's matches and player tactics. on the fun side, we have tennis draw challenges, which puts to work your match prediction skills. Wow, I can imagine watching the entire match I could have really enjoyed it. However, from just these 5 + minutes I can tell that Wang couldn't do anything with Yastremska! It'd great to see new faces breaking through. Congrats to her!
I think that 18 year-old just played the best base line game i've seen from a woman. If she can play 80% of this consistently she can be among the 3-4 best. This depth and power would win the best defender. She will be a nightmare to face for anyone no matter what.
Agree. She prefers to hit cross-court with her forehand (which is atm amazing) but she will improve down the line for sure. I really like everything i see on court from her. I don't think she'll disappoint.
Congrats for her first WTA title! She played well! She was a bit "lucky", Qiang Wang was tired! It would look totally different, if Qiang Wang didn't have a marathon match yesterday!
I agree. Not to take anything away from Yastremska but you could literally see the difference of play in Wang's earlier rounds to this round. Yes Wang was outplayed, but it would have been a much closer match if she had been near 100%. Also, Wang wouldn't have let her play as well as she did. I think the best thing for her now is to sit out the next tournament and come back with better health.
So happy for Yastremska. Osaka as US Open winners, Sabalenka with sensational performance (and that Wuhan title as the latest trophy), Danilovic won Moscow River Cup (against Potapova), 2 finals for Potapova (+ Tashkent) and now this. Add Anisimova, Vondrousova, Kenin, Kostyuk and many youngsters, hope they can crack deeper to the ranking and the tournaments. Please be more consistent, girls.
Yastremoska's soliloquy .. nearly. Played life best (yet 18 yrs old) game. Even better performance than in her previous match with another notable Chinese Zhang. For Wang, options were literally limited, not much could be done. An extraordinary final! She won point from anywhere. This victory must boost her confidence. No need to hurry up. Much to learn. Another talent shines.
Congrads Dayana , Pls hv a gd rest Wang, she played so many matches among past month.. and such huge fight yesterday, enjoy ZHUHAI and best luc for the upcoming season!!
You can see that Wong's shots were not as deep or as wicked as in other other games. I think she was just physically and emotionally drained from her game with Mugurusa the day before, a 3-setters in which she lost the first set, had to rally from behind (down 0-3 in third) in the following two sets to win the 2 hr 40 min marathon. And this was after she has to concentrate and finish another rain-delayed game with world #4 Svitlena earlier in the day. It was terrible scheduling but then everyone has to face the same tough schedule. Well, stars have aligned for Yastremska this time but not to take away from her, she had to beat all others to reach the final, . They have plenty opportunities to meet each other. I hope both will do well next season.
You could see she was physically and mentally exhausted. I think even Zhang could have beaten her, though not to take anything away from Yastramenska as she played brilliant but Wang has played so many matches in such a short amount of time and yesterday had to win 2 matches, the first one she needed to finish off and the second was of course the 2 hour and 40 minute match. As you also saw she had those bandages around her legs. She was just not up to it.
The moment I saw Wang with her thighs strapped I knew she couldn’t play as well as she did the past days. She’s been playing so many matches the past few months that she gets injured. Hopefully she recovers soon and gets back to her 100%
This is what expectations and pressure does to your game. We sit back in our couch and mock Federer and others.... imagine if Wang could.get so tight with a few wins how it is to be a tennis superstar? Tennis is more mental than physical. That explains why some people just dont deliver on a given day. And coupled with an opponent who has nothing to lose... then its sure defeat.. Case in point
Wang was probably drained by the marathon match against Mugu yesterday; she looks very slow today. It showed again stamina remains a big challenge for her.
Wang needs to work on her recovery. That over 2 hrs semi-final match took too much out of her. In addition, would like to see Wang do more all court play. On one point, she hit two great deep shots and did not come in. I like to see Wang move her game up to the net more.
Wang did not turn up. She did not serve, did not mix it, too many short balls. Yastremska was great and did not put a foot wrong, punishing all the balls around service line, for winners.
Yastremska looks like one of the two girls from the video clip where a girl has to play the same matchpoint over and over again because of challenges :D
This match is great but I just cannot like this young girl aftering seeing her match against Puig. She withdrew when facing match point. Lack of sportsmanship.
She will NOT be 140 any longer potential to win a grand slam if keeps fit n NO overeating. Job well done n feel sorry 4 Chinese player, but tennis is power sports n has an advantage for those big girls.
Another flavor of the week on the Ford model T assembly line. Baseline basher, no plan B, looks good when plan A working, but nothing to fall back on to when it's not working. Consistency and the ability to win when your A game is not working is the mark of a true champion. We've seen plenty like her. Her game is no different from Sabalenka, Vekic or even past bashers like Aravene Rezai. The WTA is full of these players. Can beat anyone when their incessant bashing is working but will lose in straights to weaponless players because they self-destruct and can't problem-solve.
wow so many young newcomers this year that could play juniors
Congratulations to Yastramenska, you played outstanding and is definitely one for the future.
For Wang though, this was a match that was just too much for her.

Never heard of her until now. She is the future! I’m now a fan of her.
First i was amazed by naomi osaka then later i was awestruck by wang qiang now my jaws are wide open in disbelief seeing dayana yastremska ..these girls are tougher than most boys !
Well now, I wouldn't go that far...

Americans Anismova (17 Yr old) and Kenin (19 yr old) are the only other teenagers besides Yastremska in top 100
Many more will come if she can stay consistent. She’s a huge talent.
Wasn't even thinking about this possibility
Wang looks very tired... she played a very tough matches against muguriza the day before the final.
Yes and she had to finish her match with svitolina just an hour before muguruza's match
@@naveed8022 Yes, I think that's what so many people forget. She's only human
Dimension Exo the show goes on, they can rematch in the next tournament
Naveed Hussain terrible scheduling. but i believe it was due to all the rain, no?
Another player adds herself into the mix for 2019 tennis. I keep saying, WTA has maybe the best pool of talent of any sport right now.
I've had my eye on her since wimbledon junior final. So happy to see her snag her first wta title. First of many im sure
she is just 18
Wow, I can imagine watching the entire match I could have really enjoyed it. However, from just these 5 + minutes I can tell that Wang couldn't do anything with Yastremska! It'd great to see new faces breaking through. Congrats to her!
a new star !!

Yes!
One more thing-her strokes was almost completely unpredictable.
She is great!

Yastremska is going to threaten everyone from now on. A huge talent, and good powerful striker of the ball.
Молодчина Даяна.Гарний подарунок зробила Українцям!
She was on fire 🔥
She is like Sharapova. The aggressiveness, the return of serves, the come ons, the grit and the beauty
Today in Ukraine are the holidays "Pokrova", "Day of the Defender" ... + Даяна молодчина! Воистину, шмаляет, что глухонемая!!!
The gorgeous woman in Yastremska's team camp is her mother btw.
Tnxs and glad to know looks like a sister to me
Wow! Thought it was her sister!
Congratulations Dayana! Great tournament dear Wang... :-)

Wow! Stunning victory from Ukrainian girl! ❤️
Incredible upset. Incredible win/tournament for Dayana.
What a brilliant shotmaker she is! Just wow
Yeeaaaaah well done Dayana !!
Wang what happened? You were present, but your mind wasn’t there!
Agree, she must have been tired. She didn't try on some shots.
You could see she was physically and mentally exhausted. She was just not up to it.
Wang looks tired she is not as quick like before in this match, but she’s one tennis female player I look forward to see again like Naomi.
Her chi was put in check
415City she played a doubleheader the previous day? why?
The moment I saw Wang with her thighs strapped I knew she couldn’t play as well as she did the past days.

we mock federer? what are you talking about?
in this case wang's loss was physical
she beat svitolina and mugurza in the same day. i wanna see you do that and then turn around to play a final. chill.
Awesome hitting!
Where are these girls coming from?
Everyone is too good... Ostapenko, kasatkina, Osaka, Sabalenka,Kiki, Qiang ....
3:22 that's probably something her coach taught her to do... she taps the ground to distract. The umpire should've ended the point right there
Wang was probably drained by the marathon match against Mugu yesterday; she looks very slow today. It showed again stamina remains a big challenge for her.
Yastremska doing some nice tricep extensions after winning points
Congrats
4:30 What a shot! Omg⊙ω⊙
beautiful Diana and Odessa

3:00 nice point deserves a nice celebration... That one was good :)
Bad luck to Wang Qiang! Dayana Yastremska may have won, but Wang Qiang is the prettiest girl out of the two.
What a match, her opponent was feeling the pressure and playing safe, didn't work out for her as she's a more aggressive player.
Cool and Strong!!
I love Yastrmskas dramatic cmons
damn...what power and precision
Wang did not turn up. She did not serve, did not mix it, too many short balls. Yastremska was great and did not put a foot wrong, punishing all the balls around service line, for winners.
Long live the Y-A-Z
Wow. What a spoiler to the wang party. Wonder if shes tired of this new girl is really that good
She was in the Zone and Qiang looked burned
Yastremska looks like one of the two girls from the video clip where a girl has to play the same matchpoint over and over again because of challenges :D

Ary Mayn really?
I will look for the video..

Yeah but the yelling is worse than sharapovas scream
Really? Sharapova's screams are wayyyyy louder than her grunts
Most spectators cheered for Dayana!
Damn, Wang was outplayed big time..... Jesus fucking Christ.
Couldn't that fool in the white cap have stood up at the end? Was that her coach? Jesus.
Wang played too defensively. Yastremska showed pretty immature and wild behavior on court with her reactions.
She's 18. Her first proper title final. Relax
Your highlights is wrong... kept going back to the future
This wan't Fair, 2 games in a row? In same day? Svitolina And D. Yastremska? Wasn't Fair...

So glad that the Ukrainian won.🎾🎾🎾
This match is great but I just cannot like this young girl aftering seeing her match against Puig. She withdrew when facing match point. Lack of sportsmanship.
How to pronounce Yastremska ????
林阿浩 just like it is spelled. Ya-strem-ska.
Yastremskaya
Kusmarhonok , no “y” at the end.
Dubble D sorry, on Russian it’s Yastremskaya, I Thought that on Ukrainian too
That should humble that Wang for a while...
mrosss74 S she's pretty humble... And down to earth.
Wang played so badly. Unbelievable badly. She faced to many returned ball, she just did standstill, without any intention to hit back ball.
She will NOT be 140 any longer potential to win a grand slam if keeps fit n NO overeating. Job well done n feel sorry 4 Chinese player, but tennis is power sports n has an advantage for those big girls.
What about Henin?
Wang just standing without moving many times. Thats not good

Looks like something wrong with Wang quiang
She's tired, played a long match the day before.
Wang, what went wrong? This match was worse than a practice match.
Wang is not human of the finals!
What?
@@DeeDee-lm1cl I said that Wang is not player for finals. She usally loses in the all finals
I thought Wang was 2 for 2 in finals this year... Not sure what you were talking about.
