Don't know Specks and Blazers but she gave HORRIBLE vibes. - her saying you cant do what i can do - her saying if you didn't start by calling people out, dont start now - pointing out her lawyers are jewish - admitting that her lawyers will get her out of "whatever" It comes across as entitled and essentially saying she can do bad/illegal things and get away with it. Bad vibes!
She said all the quiet parts out loud and none of that looks good even behind the curtain. She's got Capitalism Brain fr fr. It makes you money...but that means you've sold your soul to the money gods.
Why did Specks and Blazers have to point that her lawyers are Jewish that’s irrelevant and by pointing it out she’s continuing stereotypes that are antisemitic overall?
It was so icky to me!!! And there were so many other weird comments in there. It felt like using being othered to make money, but also telling other people to do that as well. It just REALLY gave me a bad feeling. I didn’t like it :(
This tarte drama is funny because it’s just a bunch of people complaining that their free trip wasn’t as extravagant as they wanted it to be. This is legit the definition of first world problem
Also compleatly forgetting that brands don't care about them, its capitalism. All that matters is what you give them, more followers means you give them more so they give you more.
Exactly. Like poor you, you didn't get exactly what you wanted from a company when everything you got was free. Meanwhile in the real world there are people struggling to put food on the table.
Right! Complaining about getting a "small" room like Tarte had any control of the rooms being the same size. Someone was going to a get a smaller room. Tarte explained their reasoning to giving certain members larger rooms and it was probably because those members have been working with Tarte for much longer. Then Shawtysin gets upset for not being able to stay longer, when why would they let you stay if you barely posted videos for your first free trip. Some of these people take shit too personal. Remember, this is a business trip. The goal for Tarte to make money through the products your advertise to your viewers.
@@AnimeProduction101 she not only barely posted videos but she posted a video complaining about having a small room and another video that she wasn’t being asked to extend her trip WHILE ON THE TRIP😂 why would they go above & beyond after already spending that much money on a smaller influencer who’s posting negatively about them?
Specks and blazer openly admitting she knows these brands are racist and basically saying other girlies need to shut up about it so she can profit from it behind the scenes and make those racist brands look good online....YUCK.
Of course. It makes sense that she does. This is her only marketing / advertising they do so she needs to be " obsessed " with her brand. It would be odd for her not to be MLM obsessed level. 🤣
I’ve never even heard of specks and blazers, but I really feel like she should have just gone on the trip and shut up. Between her saying she uses racism to her advantage, to mentioning that her lawyers are Jewish (like that matters), to calling neurodivergent people crazy… like girl, please stop. She sounded racist, ableist, antisemitic, pick me/POC creators should be happy to get anything, and extraordinarily arrogant all in a few minutes. It would be impressive if it wasn’t so cringe.
@@skyefirenails I just got back from tiktok, and girl!! Apparently she’s lying about being a huge influencer and claimed to be a UN Ambassador for Nigeria since 2018. No one can seem to verify this. She had a little bit of a following on RUclips back in 2020 but a scandal happened so she deleted most of her video, then moved to TikTok to start fresh, which is why everyone keeps asking who she is. She posted another TikTok spewing anti-blackness and how we can learn from white people/it’s our own fault we struggle…just…wow. She’s a whole mess.
I've been trying to attend an F1 race for a decade now. This right here is why tickets are SO expensive in America and why I'll probably never get to go unless I leave the country. The corporatization of this sport is insane. I cannot believe that they're spending this much money for influencers who very clearly don't know anything about F1 to have PADDOCK passes. I wish I could have the money to even consider a paddock pass. The fact that Maureen said "I didn't know people wanted to go to the race" is literally INSANE to me. You're getting passes for people to go to free practice sessions, quali, and the race...... and think everyone's just going to hang out and not care about the sporting event you're literally there for? This is the equivalent of going to the Super Bowl for a brand trip and being surprised that anyone wants to watch the Super Bowl. Edit: also....... how do they think it would be easy to just get more tickets for the race itself? it's SO expensive and SO incredibly difficult to obtain tickets even months in advance.
It bothers me to invite all these people to a sport event they clearly don’t care about. Then for the people that don’t care about that event to complain about only going to a practice or qualifier is wild to me. I don’t watch F1 unless with someone else who cares, so I would just be happy and honoured to be there because I know people who would have loved to be there. I also dislike when things are made to be all about race. Just cause your friends are staying until Monday, does not mean she is the only one not staying. Also on the Turks trip, there were other minorities who got better room and other girls who got worse. So whether it was random or not, it didn’t have to do with that. It also makes more sense to have more famous influencers stay longer, if they bring in more money. Someone else getting asked to stay longer is not the same as you getting kicked out early. It is honestly entitled. And they did get more tickets pretty easily so money is clearly not an issue for them. Tarte could have been transparent about different groups staying 3 days or that she would be there only 3 days from the beginning. But if she didn’t realize that everyone was staying 3 days when she checked dates with friends (she came early and left early and vice versa for her friends) she just cared about not being able to stay and not about figuring out why there was a difference.
One of my friends went to the United States Grand Prix in Austin, TX in 2021 and can confirm that the passes for all three days were insanely expensive. And you're correct, the corporatization of Formula 1 here in the U.S. is beginning to make the sport unappealing for the average F1 fan.
honestly everyone involved in the F1 drama gives the worst vibe, Specks and Blazers seems so self centred but covers it up with being a "girl boss". Maybe Bria shouldn't have posted so quickly about the situation (although she has the right to) but to immediately start saying she's ungrateful and start to say how you would sleep on trains just to get to front row, its not about the front row, its about the respect that Bria felt she wasn't getting. not everyone wants to get the front row or the Sunday race, some just want to be treated equally. Again there are many things Bria could have done differently and I feel like all of them could have done differently, but can we put the focus on the giant brand that consistently organises trips where things go wrong?
My hot take on this. It's a free trip. F1 practice and qualifiers is equal much fun as the race day. Tarte is a makeup brand, and the influencers got to attend a tarte trip. NOT a F1 raceday trip. In my opinion they did get treated equally, because it was a tarte, a makeup trip, and the F1 stuff was just extra. And like Angelika said, it's all about status, about "look at me I'm at the Miami F1 race!!" I understand that in the influencer world it's all about status. But some of these people just give off major "this isn't enough for me, I want more" vibes. And that specks and blazers girl pointining out that she has jewish lawyers, weird. And the CEO of Tarte would be a great MLM boss babe
That’s kind of what I assumed their intention was! I don’t think Tarte thought makeup influencers would care about F1, more just hanging out with fellow influencers but idk
This was my exact thought! I'm so annoyed that these influencers are expected the best of best even though the F1 races were an EXTRA event. From what I read, the practices are actually a better day to go because there's less of a crowd so people have more space and have more fun comfortably. They need to understand that maybe you should be more grateful for have a rather luxurious free trip than complain that they can't stay for the duration of the whole event. I'm mainly side-seeing Bria because I just don't get how she's gunna complain that she's leaving a day early. She could've asked for more details instead of how she reacted in her tiktok
This is flawed thinking. POC are always expected to be fine with crumbs and it's not okay for them to *only* treat the non-white influencers like this but no others? It's obvious what happened
Tarte doesn't look half as bad as Specks and Blazers... That video was so callous and narcissistic. Downright saying she weaponizes her race by knowing when to call out a brand to get what she wants and saying that the brands even know she's not genuine. The black creator who she is shading wasn't trying to get something from Tarte, she was genuinely hurt by her (perceived or not) different treatment from others. Really S&B came across like "F you, get mine, only I can play that card" and oof
I’m assuming she meant her lawyers are good? Like doesn’t the scripture talk a lot about justice so maybe Jewish lawyers are extra passionate about their job…just theories really
@@ew4645thats a very generous view of that comment. Usually its because stereotypically lawyers are seen as slimy and that is also the negative stereotype about jewish people as well so its a stereotype for jewish people to be lawyers
Yessss; idk if it’s bc I grew up on RUclips and as a community we’ve learned so much but I find the tiktok influencers are so see through. It’s so easy to tell they’re dishonest most of the time
@@chrischris7003 to be fair, I think some people do jump to conclusions as a result of being overly sensitive. And there’s not much you can do about it since it’s a personality trait and is common in neurodiverse populations (not to mention the fact that women of colour have been mistreated for years by the beauty industry so it makes sense that they’d be hyper vigilant). Hate to say it, but it is the brand’s responsibility to be upfront with creators and ensure that people don’t feel left out.
@Wynniethepooh she's a grown adult and can ask a question to get clarity. Or if she doesn't know how to, she can learn how to. The brand should have been more clear in their communications, but that doesn't excuse how she decided to respond
@@chrischris7003what I’m curious about is if everyone’s just doing 1 dinner, 1 club 1 track day then why didn’t they fly in on different days? You wouldn’t get everyone together as such a big group but it would show the influencers that nobody was being treated differently, everyone was getting similar experiences (minus some people getting to go to the big race day)
As someone who works in marketing & PR in motorsports, a lot of us are scratching our heads and wondering if Tarte did ANY market research at all for the Miami GP. I think it's great to try to attract new audiences, but based on the actual content that was put out, it seems like they didn't give any thought as to how to actually connect makeup and F1. We have a major issue with people trying to gatekeep the sport and make new fans prove themselves with prior knowledge and history, so I personally don't mind if influencers don't know much about F1 or if they're new to it, everyone should be welcomed no matter how long they've been watching or their level of interest. But I think the responsibility falls on the brand to actually make sure this partnership will be well received and properly planned out, especially when promoting something so exclusive that most F1 fans will never be able to experience for themselves (which is a whole other issue). I truly don't see how Tarte or F1 would have benefitted from this. Sorry for the rant, but motorsports is my expertise and this is all anyone in the F1 community has been talking about this past week😅
@Rosa but there's still a problem there cause the fact that people think it was a partnership is another fail in communication 🤔 its key to making any event any office run smoothly. Coming from an administrative assistant if I'm not kept in the know how then things quickly fall apart cause people rely on me to take care of things
I think it was a bad time to do F1? I think doing F1 pre-covid made more sense when movies and stuff made it seem more… glamorous? It’s just a weird time to do it…
To conclude, Tarte do these brand trips because they want to, they buy all these huge white influencers as they always do, throw in a couple POCS to not look bad, and promote their makeup
@Rosa IIII literally didn't say I thought it was a partnership kid. I said "THAT PEOPLE" think it was a partnership. You know, people like the OP who DID think it was a partnership. Like....where's the reading comprehensive skills?
People keep saying she’s ungrateful, but it’s less about the situation and more about the principle. Either way, as a WOC, surely if you live long enough you know that 9/10 times you’ll be treated as less and left out in white spaces. It’s something you grow up with. Bria’s just pointing that principle out in this situation. On one hand, it happens all the time and she should’ve expected it. On the other hand, speaking up about it means trying to make a change. Unfortunately, she’ll be seen as ungrateful by people who’ve not experienced that situation or people like specks who’ve accepted it happens and uses it to their advantage.
@SourCandy I know this is late but tarte has always been problamatic and she still chose to work with them and allowed herself to be used in their clean up campaign, she was probably fine being the token and only had a problem with them once she realized she was just a marketing gimmick.
There was a dark skin black girl with less followers with a “better” room. I don’t think it’s race here it’s just straight entitlement. And it was a villa, a house, and not a hotel. No room is the same. And at the end of the day this is marketing you put your money where you get your results. She let her insecurities show and needs to bffr. If she had been engaging, posting more, and not comparing room sizes then she probably could have stayed.
This is exactly what I said in my comment and I also think Specs and Blazers made a total A$$ out of herself by saying she’s the only one who can call out Brands on Racism and Discrimination! Idk wtf she thinks she is but wow just wow . S$B came across as the one who looks awful in this her vibe is nasty nor have I ever heard of her , all her “ fellow” Creator just toss Brie right under that big ole Bus and continue to just drive over her .
I feel sorry for Bria because it feels like it was more of a personal trigger than anything else. This idea of “treating everyone the same” doesn’t make any sense if you don’t have the numbers that match the top creators. I don’t know these influencers, so idk if she got really way less numbers or not. Idk, feels naive??? to expect “equal treatment” if it’s an investment that the brand is making. Also it didn’t sound like Bria is super into f1 or anything like that, I am and I would’ve been sad to miss race day bc it’s my fave, i hate practice lmao But the worst is I feel like Bria didn’t reach out to the brand before speaking up? Idk if I lost something, but if it was that important, she could’ve tried reaching out. I mean it is a “free” trip so… yeah. I don’t think the creators need to be super grateful, they are working and using the products, but it’s important to be realistic and understand the business side of these trips.
From what Bria said, it sounded like everyone was getting front row tickets to the final race and it seemed like she was getting sent home before that so I think its fair that she was a bit upset about it. Yes she could have gone and been grateful but if everyone got to stay for the final race except for her then yeah maybe you want to point it out. Yes I think she should have contacted them to figure out why she seemed to not be invited to something that everyone was invited to.
@@phoebejones9261yeah that’s what Bria said, but how do we know everybody but her was invited to race day? how would she even know that? what I understood was that, from her group of friends, she was the one who was going for friday practice and the other girls would be going on other days, not that she was the only one not going to race day, that doesn’t even make sense
@@BabyGirlTiny yeah cause broken toilet and small rooms are catering to everyone. while others get bigger rooms plus upgraded into a villa afterwards???? urm okay catering i guess
I mean at least one of them ADMITTED that it is SUCH a first world problem to be like "my room is too small" like shoot I'd be SO excited to be on a BRAND paid for trip like give me a god damn CLOSET I'll be happy lol
I was like 🙄 waiting them to give an example for a single mistreatment, i expected different food? or fewer gifts? or not allowed to do a luxurious activity? you know A Discrimination where its clear cut you were treated inferior? But the examples mentioned literally happen in family trips between siblings. And to Only say its because of your color not the actual size of your followers (which is why you get invited anyway and thats clear idk what transparency one of them is asking for isn't mind blowing) is making any valid arguments for actual discrimination because of color very muddy.
Brands mistreating poc creators and not receiving the same opportunities as opposed to their white counterparts is a real problem but it’s kinda weird how the main grievances in these videos is that “my room wasn’t big enough” and “I wasn’t able to go to the same event as my friends”, like imagine having a brand change their whole itinerary just to accommodate you bc you cried about not being able to sit with your friends, granted tarte shouldve been more transparent about some thing but also like pls be serious
Idk if the other influencers where bigger but sadly thats what it is all about. If they have more followers etc they will get better stuff, asked to stay etc
If they purposely saved the big event tickets specifically for the white creators though, that's something to point out. If I was excluded from something all of my friends had access to and all of my friends were white, I'd have some questions as well.
That’s what I was thinking too. I believe 100% that WOC especially black women have it hard in this content creator industry but in this instance, it seemed like things were actually fair. For the F1 girl especially. I think a lot of people are scared to admit that this wasn’t racist because it will invalidate other experiences. Which I think it a bad idea. Validating stuff like this belittles actual instances of racism. These girls are being ungrateful. It’s okay to want more but it’s not okay to go around calling people racist for misunderstanding or for not being given something you haven’t earned yet. Cause I’m pretty sure if there is a hierarchy, it’s based on views and followers and stuff
Yes this was I was trying to say cause we are not going to say its the unfair treatment problem to black creators cause these trips ideal the blonde skinny white girls majority of the time but they really sound like children when they say this and if its rlly was her friends they would all come together to change the date so they can all go together. its not that hard to change a plane ticket to Miami. Also I did find it weird and unfair that some girl left early on the trip than other yes I validate that cause everyone came the same time should leave the same time. I am not complaining bout to season 1 and 2 but season 1 should be a completely different girls than season 2
To say that if someone didn't start their brand by calling other people, they can never start is so dumb. I think it's good if people gain experience, try products, etc because then they have the knowledge to call people out which is backed by evidence.
He spiel was not about it being dumb generally, but about it being a dumb move that can ruin your career, she literally gave real life examples supporting her argument. That was advice, take it or leave it.
Yeah and at the beginning she said oh no I'm grateful you clearly not or you wouldn't be making a video about it. Yeah that butt hurt you think they gave you a small room because you're black f*** off
This is such a first world problem. Holy hell, I'm sorry but these people definitely sound entitled. Cynthia said she got the smallest room but there was a white influencer who got a smaller room than her. Bria making that video is so ridiculous. She's crying because she wanted to go on Sunday because her friends got that day and not her? Like what?!?!? This is such an entiled behavior. Jesus, I can't believe people are defending this immature behavior. I'd expect this from my 5 yrs niece not a grown ass adult.
For me it’s the fact that Cynthia complained about not being invited to season 2 of the trip, but only made 2 tiktoks. You know - not really promoting the brand. So why would they keep her around when she’s not promoting? It’s common sense 😂🙄
@@bjh107 it could be about soup and I'd still get it, it’s about equality. If everyone else got soup with gold leaf served in crystal bowls and I got a regular bowl of good soup, I'd still ask why I'm treated differently.
@@JasminMiettunen youre chatting absolute shit. A villa has different sized rooms and theyre going to have to accept that. If you're scared that you may get a different sized room, dont go. The space and size of a room has literally nothing at all to do with how much it affects you. As long as you've been treated equally otherwise, ie amount of products and gifts, then I don't see how room size is a bother. Would you genuinely complain if you were given that room, that you could do 3 back flips in, FOR FREE, because someone else could do 10 back flips in theirs?
why. do. they. keep. doing. trips.... wtf?! did they think the first one went well?! this is crazy, not brands putting more money into trips for influencers instead of literally anything else. crazyyyyy
The miscommunication that happened wasn't between the or team and the influencers, it was between the team who planned the trip and the pr team. I used to be a tour guide and so often people would turn up and their version of the itinerary didn't correspond to mine because the travel agent they had talked to hadn't communicated properly with the larger tour operator who did the bookings and was in contact with me.
What I find very sad is that Bria was very impulsive yes and that was wrong but Tarte has been been called out on racism for YEARS. So it’s not crazy that the lack of transparency on Tarte’s end as racism. It’s not far fetch. Black women SHOULD complain about not being treated equally. That girl “I slept on trains” like that’s a flex I be Meredith wouldn’t dare be told to sleep on a train. Black women and people of color PERIOD should NOT have to be grateful for scraps!
Yeah, treat everyone the same, invite less people if you can't afford to, or just don't have these ridiculous trips that only alienate consumers. Maybe it's slightly less bougie, but use a resort that has identical rooms. Book everyone for the same length of time. It's really not that hard.
This! These comments on here are awful, all acting like Bria is just attention seeking and crying racism. Tarte has a bad history of racism and ppl are acting like one nice trip makes them forget that. Should she have done things differently? Yeah probably but she wasn’t wrong to make the assumption she did given tarte’s past. Also the woman complaining about the smaller room wasn’t wrong either because again it’s tarte and a brown woman receiving the smallest room can easily read badly. Also I can’t stand the people calling them entitled or spoiled/complaining about first world problems. They’re influencers, they’re all entitled acting to a degree and wanting equal treatment isn’t entitled no matter how privileged the space you’re in is.
Very unprofessional of Bria to just come out publicly about that instead of speaking to Tarte themselves … or even just denying the brand trip and leaving it at that
Agreed. I don’t think there was a need to cry on social media about it. I still follow her and enjoy her content but I just don’t think this whole thing was handled well
That last statement felt VERY scripted. I wouldn't be surprised if she was threatened with a lawsuit because of an NDA or even slander if she did lie about something.
In my opinion, they're spoiled and entitled influencers who wanna play victim. Nothing is ever going to be fair. Before you accuse people of discriminating make sure it's valid. The last influencers calling her out had valid points.
these influencers are so entitled just be thankful for the free tickets and free gifts and free accommodation. And the audacity to ask for more when you haven’t even done your job of advertising the brand. Influencers are narcissists not everything is about you.
All of this was strange to say the least and the worst case of virtue signalling I've ever seen. 1) Maureen not doing any research at all on what F1 is all about is strange to me. I am also confused as to what on earth is a makeup brand doing in an F1 event. Even if she doesn't understand the sport, at least understand what perceived levels of prestige each day presents, to which is a no brainer tbh. And if there is a perceived level of prestige for each day, she should have steered clear of this one. Or organised it better at least and make sure everyone understands. I have a feeling all the past and present grievances of Tarte is just a lack of thought in these brand trips other than just "having fun", like she mentions in her video rather than being intentional aka, running a business. 2) People sending hate to the black creators going in place of Bria is strange to me. Whether they choose to attend or not is their own prerogative. 3) That specs and blazer girl, she's cunning, I'll give her that but a lot of very strange things coming out of her mouth like having Jewish lawyers. What an oddly specific thing to say. Perhaps people calling her out is not unfounded after all. 4) I'm not sure what to make of the last part other than being a hail Mary to save whatever reputation all parties involved has left. I just know this could have all been avoided had Tarte thought through things better.
Just wanna say that I l o v e the new editing style and the intro, it just flows perfectly with you bringing your points across and your speaking in general
tarte knows eyes are on them for these trips so I doubt they’re dumb enough to intentionally treat bipoc creators differently… both situations seem absolutely coincidental and honestly if we’re gonna raise awareness for the way brands are racist, grievances like “my room isn’t big enough” “Im leaving sooner than my friends” don’t seem like the best way to do it
for me as an f1 fan it's just been hard to watch because according to a statistic, 99% of f1 fans will never be able to go to a race and the makeup influencers just get to go not knowing anything, not willing to learn anything and on top of everything creating drama😶
as an f1 fan for my entire life, this is sooo annoying 😭😭 last year i went to the belgian gp and i’m still not financially recovered… i was on the cheapest stand….
Oh no I was just gonna go to bed but now I need to watch this video. I know there’s no way these brand influencers trips are worth it, especially with TikTok influencers rn.
If you’re going to do a F1 trip with people who don’t watch F1, you need to do tickets for the Sunday. They won’t see the value to the rest of the days.
Can't relate to being so entitled that I get an all expenses paid trip, but because I'm not happy with certain aspects of it, I decide not to go. I get the impression that things will never be enough for these influencers, it's always a whole lot of complaining and not an ounce of gratitude for what they have and privileges they have that the rest of the world will never be able to.
@@Fengsuave_she said “ranked” not “rape”. I misheard the same thing, I had to rewatch that part several times and look at the captions she had on-screen to realize she was saying “ranked” because I knew there was no way she was comparing it to being“raped”
Maureen’s whole tone kinda made me feel weird icl. like i don’t have much of an opinion on the other stuff but Maureen just seemed super manipulative when she was talking about it. Like the whole thing of going on about how she “just wanted as many people there as possible” felt super guilt trippy, and not the kind of behaviour i expect from a brand that is as old as tarte. it’s not like they’re a new brand that’s trying out brand trips for the first time. she should have been able to respond in a way that wasn’t trying to play off of people’s emotions. like she’s trying to have this ‘special connection’ with the influencers & potential customers but tarte is a HUGE brand- that kind of relationship(in my opinion) isn’t possible at that level. it’s a multi-million dollar brand. i’m not going to be made to feel sad because the CEO (or whatever important role she has, i didn’t quite catch it lol) was a bit sad because she couldn’t have as many people as she wanted and she messed up her planning. this whole thing is way too messy for an established brand like tarte.
I didn't know who Specks and Blazers was until this video but she honestly seems like someone I would enjoy watching just for the "If I want the contract, I will get it." attitude
she kinda weirded me out but a tiny voice in the back of my head knows that shes right and she is just working the system to her advantage. Attitude is INSANE on her but shes a liiiittttle right
Me PERSONALLY, if I got a free trip to anywhere, especially places like the tarte trips- I’d just be grateful. The season 1&2 drama I get that’s not a good feeling like the cool kids said there was no party tonight but there was you just weren’t invited. Weird way to do it altogether.
I think it's good that if there is clear favouritism/preferences due to ethnicity is called out, no matter the situation. I dont believe that racism (if genuine instances of same) should be invalidates by the situation because it gives off a blame the victim vibe. Or at least it minimises the issue by insinuating "well racism is okay if you're already rich or getting something in return".
A darker girl than Cynthia got a big room. It might be more of a situation where you’re satisfied with what you have until you see what someone else has. I think Cynthia’s first post was fine because she was just honest about her comparing tendencies. But she didn’t have to share the second one with her audience. Her audience has nothing to do with room size on a brand trip. The room thing was something she could have solved privately with tarte or she could decide she doesn’t want to work with the brand anymore. If she wanted to push for more diversity, she could have criticized tartes makeup, or something that will actually benefit her audience. People cant expect equal treatment in every situation. It’s really about picking your battles. If cynthia was the only person sent home before season 2, that would be weird, but she wasn’t. I do think the way tarte divides their trip isn’t well planned but it is trivial
Idk about them but if the other girls have more followers it def isn't about their race. All brands care about is what you give back, so more followers means better treatment
Am I the only one who thinks it’s perfectly reasonable to receive more from brands based on follower count or net worth? Like as an influencer your value is found in your influence. It sounds rough, I know, but bigger creators are quite literally worth more than smaller time creators and that’s not the brand’s fault. The racism of the algorithm and the reluctance of consumers to follow influencers of colour is important to call out, and brands should promote more, truer representation in their marketing, but smaller creators not getting the same amount of merch and royalties makes sense to me.
Specks and Blazers had a lot of weird vibes in what she was saying. And while I agree Bria has a right to express her frustrations, esp if she personally felt like she was being treated differently, it does come off as super privileged to be that upset about having a different day assigned to you or a smaller room while on a free vacation. Like people can barely afford their groceries and rent rn, and while that doesn’t mean other things can’t be called out, it just seems very privileged to me. Especially because she wasn’t calling out that it seemed racially motivated (if it was all white girls who got special treatment while POCs got sent home early or whatever) I think it’d be fine to mention that. But she seemed more upset that she only got to see a practice, or that a room was smaller than other influencers in general. Using tartes previous racism as a justification to complain about your free tropical vacation not being as nice as someone else’s is very tone deaf when the average person can barely afford their groceries rn. Call out racism only when there is racism, bc if you don’t nobody will actually acknowledge those concerns.
Specks & Blazers giving snake in the grass vibes over there. 👀 🐍 I mean, def use racism to your advantage, but to try to tear down a fellow black girl like that? SMH. Bria said she did ask other people she knew going before deciding to not go on this trip, so it would have been interesting to know if originally Tarte had more than 90% white people going to the actual race, but I guess we’ll never know now! And considering S&B is so “calculating” and such and considers Tarte’s brand owner to be a good friend, I’m guessing they’re two peas in a pod. SMH.
I can’t with the ceo “doing her hair” in the TikToks 😅. It’s so planned out. Every time a new TikTok comes on screen with her “casually” doing her hair it gets funnier
I’ve gotta put this all on the brand. The creators have every right to be upset that their treatment is different-regardless of how much they are getting out of the trip. The “take what you can get” attitude honestly reminds me of segregation, and Tarte needs to be more transparent.
I’m sorry but idgaf, I can’t stand listening to these people complain that the FREE trip they’re being offered isn’t enough. Some of us can’t afford to go anywhere let alone to Turks and Caicos or F1 races. I understand if you don’t want to go since they aren’t all treated equally but complaining to your audience that it isn’t enough for you seems very entitled and tone deaf imo
I unironically really like both the tartelette in bloom and juicy palettes and have had them for a few years now. Id really recommend Juicy especially if you want pink/berry/brown shades. At the same time Maureen gives me weird vibes.
29:30 this is so sad. Her whole video breaks my heart. Like you’re accepting the bare minimum and wearing it like a badge of honor. That’s very sad… and I disagree they aren’t JUST upset that she didn’t stand with Bria. They’re upset with how she’s attacking them that black women don’t complain about not getting equality. That’s absolutely HORRIBLE.
@@alh5782 so heartbreaking like being grateful for scraps. Her video was so gross. I hope she took it down. Young black girls don’t need to hear stuff like that
I’m honestly so tired of all of this. I think it boils down to a miscommunication and it’s being blown so far out of proportion at this point it’s wild. Not to mention every single girl involved has effectively pretty much destroyed any other opportunity for trips like this in the future, why would any brand want to fly them anywhere now after all of this drama? As a consumer, this rubs me the wrong way. It’s not like these girls were treated like peasants FFS, they had an opportunity most of us would NEVER get handed to them and they turned up their nose at it. Do I think tarte had a shady history? Yes. Do I think they listen to consumers and creators and implement those changes? Also yes. I’m sorry but I just don’t see any racism here. I think pulling the racism card and crying wolf in a Situation like this is more damaging than helpful and I’m ready for the internet to move on already. None of these girls deserve a platform at this point.
i agree that staying relevant is how brands stay afloat. even though i tried not to get influenced too much, I'm much more likely to buy something from a brand that a lot of people are talking about vs something no one is mentioning unless I already know the product is not for me.
Ty for sharing Shawtysin ‘s pov. She seems to grounded, which I would have NEVER guessed from any of these “influencers” who go on these crazy trips. To hear her talk about the trip as a once in a life time type of thing (like the majority of us here would view that level of extreme luxury as) was honestly really good. These trips make these influencers feel like that’s the standard they deserve. It’s so unrealistic and sickening considering what is actually going on in this world!
i feel like it’s ok for the brand to treat people in relation to their number of followers or engagement, isn’t that how every brand deal works? i’m not an influencer so idk
@@byejesper I think it would be too but given that tarte specifically said they treat all creators the same despite follower count, I think what Cynthia is saying makes sense
As a survivor of sexual assault, it's really gross to compare the horrific, life-altering of rape to not getting invited to the third day of the F1 race weekend in Miami. (Edit: Other kind viewers/commenters pointed out that I misheard raped for ranked, and I apologize for accusing her of such.)
I completely understand because I had the same visceral reaction at first as a survivor, but I’m pretty sure she said “ranked”, that’s what the caption said. But yeah it made my jaw HANG open at first
she said ranked and you should delete this because it’s spreading a very dangerous scenario that didn’t happen. People are still liking the post and not even reading your apology at the very bottom
Cynthia made two videos while she was was on the trip complaining about her room and that she wasn’t getting to stay??? Imagine if you were the brand😭 I wouldn’t have asked her to extend the trip either. You can’t make negative content while on the trip and be surprised they didn’t go above & beyond for you, you didn’t go above & beyond for them??? And then to come home and complain more and have your entire audience commenting saying they will never buy from Tarte again……. Every single room was incredibly nice, there were no “crappy rooms” Brianna who has 2m followers (1.5m more than this creator) also got put in the “smallest room” ofc they save the master bedrooms for the huge creators, it’s a brand trip for MARKETING. It’s not for funsies. It’s still Prince’s Estate and they were all flown first class and all did the exact same activities etc. Plus a few of the girls that stayed longer even said THEY paid to extend themselves
specks and blazers take sounded so fking brainwashed- my takeaway from it is "I'm a conformist who does whatever the higherups tell me to do as long as money's involved and have no problem perpetuating and feeding racial inequalities to keep 'them' happy :D I'm such a great corporate puppet :D how DARE you not eat the table scraps the higherups continue to leave for us?! anyways, watch me disrespect other groups rq." ts was so grimy.
Ngl i got emotional. She had to ask and beg to be treated the same as others. To be respected. It’s like it’s never going to end… Wow people did not agree in these comments…. Am i in the right community?
I’m irritated, “you should be so grateful to go on a tarte trip” tarte sitting here with their millions. Ridiculous, I don’t trust tarte. They only want inclusive creators to block criticism. Don’t believe me? Why didn’t they start inclusive…
It just rubs me the wrong way. It’s not like they’re all friends and they’re having a werid house spat over plans. As a company who’s been doing these trips for years, you should be more careful about them. Maybe ask what event they’d like to go to or send a list of expectations for the trip. (Other than fun and good bags) To be clear, I feel like everyone is wrong in this situation.
Really didn't expect Angelika talking about F1 😅. I think that it was just a big misunderstanding/miscommunication between Maureen and Bria. Bria was frustrated because she seem to understand the importance of the Formula 1 days, and knew she missed the most important day whilst others didn't. And Maureen thought 'fun event out' without the realization that there's only ONE "Race" day, and the others are building up to that day. And Bria saw that (and I assume more things) as singling her out as a BIPOC creator and giving her less oppurtinities.
Maureen is so unserious. You’re being accused of discrimination and you decide let me grab the palest shade of concealer I can find and my curling wand to make a grwm, rather than sitting down and taking it seriously.
31:09 idk i’m not black so it’s genuinely not my place but as a POC. just because you had to sleep on trains nd change in alleyways to be part of a big event, doesn’t make it okay. she had to do that while her white counterparts were getting things handed to them and personally i don’t see how mentioning that helps tartes case at all. “jus be happy with what you got” essentially. when bria’s entire thing was she didn’t want to accept treatment that was different to her peers. like yeah there may have been a misunderstanding, however, i really don’t think fannita or specksandblazers responses helps tartes case at all. i LOVE fannita i’ve been watching her for a while now but idk this feels like they were the PR push that tarte couldn’t do themselves.
Okay, this might be me being sensitive, but the fact that Specks and Blazers went to "acting crazy" as opposed to being neurotypical is um... A choice. Also the Jewish lawyer thing? Idk, that whole video seemed off to me. I understand being upset because of catching unnecessary flack, but that... Idk, it just didn't sit right with me.
Getting such weird vibes from the specksandblazers video. Her comments about lawyers being jewish, calling neurodivergent people crazy and saying that people are less critical of them??? 😒 Also saying "peoole like me or kanye? 😬💀 Also everything she said was basically "I use racism ro my advantage. I dont care to change anything. Everything I do is calculated and I will walk over other black women to get something good for myself. People who are treated worse for being black should be happy they even got invited and know their place. I was sleeping on the floor so you should too" Giving me the biggest ick
I obviously agree that companies should not discriminate base on race or gender or whatever. But life isn’t fair. People with bigger followings might earn a bigger room! And? These companies don’t owe everyone the same experience. These influencers are so entitled and sensitive and looking for a problem no matter what.
Yeah I dont love Specs and Blazers rant but Maureen gives performative middle aged white women vibes. Responding to Bria calling them out for being racist and Maureen calls it "making someone sad." White women will dance around the word racism indefinitely. The black creators didnt respond the best but they do have a point about having to play into capitalism to an extent to make it if youre not white. It sounds like they just play into that dynamic more.
Don't know Specks and Blazers but she gave HORRIBLE vibes.
- her saying you cant do what i can do
- her saying if you didn't start by calling people out, dont start now
- pointing out her lawyers are jewish
- admitting that her lawyers will get her out of "whatever"
It comes across as entitled and essentially saying she can do bad/illegal things and get away with it. Bad vibes!
Ya did not like her vibes
Her also saying neurodivergent people are insane. Like, um thanks?...
She said all the quiet parts out loud and none of that looks good even behind the curtain. She's got Capitalism Brain fr fr. It makes you money...but that means you've sold your soul to the money gods.
Omg when she said she knows how to use racism to her advantage my jaw dropped
@@isabelladiaz5759 OMG same! Like that's straight up disgusting.
Why did Specks and Blazers have to point that her lawyers are Jewish that’s irrelevant and by pointing it out she’s continuing stereotypes that are antisemitic overall?
SUCH a weird thing to specify 💀
There were a lot of comments she made that gave off a weird vibe tbh
Her whole video was about weaponizing racism. Doesn’t surprise me that she’s racist herself. It’s giving Klandice Owens.
It was so icky to me!!! And there were so many other weird comments in there. It felt like using being othered to make money, but also telling other people to do that as well. It just REALLY gave me a bad feeling. I didn’t like it :(
She also insinuated that neurodivergent people are insane.
True!
Absolutely yuck
Is it just me or does Maureen, the founder, have major MLM energy?
For sure “MLM boss babe” vibes 😭
Of course. It makes sense that she does. This is her only marketing / advertising they do so she needs to be " obsessed " with her brand. It would be odd for her not to be MLM obsessed level. 🤣
I'm SO glad that I'm not the only one who feels that!
What does MLM means? English is not my first language sorry

She really should’ve shut up and ate her food. That whole vid was unnecessary.

She gave awful vibes and I agree - should have just gone on the trip and not shaded Bria!

@@littlesin21 oh my god???
The American Grand Prix’s are just media circuses and aren’t about the actual racing, it’s beyond a joke.
Go to Austin and get a grass spot! Prices aren’t that bad.
It was SUCH a weird video with some awful takes and bad vibes 😭
Is no one going to mention how Specs and Blazers just equated being neurodivergent with being crazy?
No I don’t think she did. It was an example with a hypothetical neurodivergent person and hypothetical crazy person and compared their treatment
Actually she compared neurotypical people and “crazy people” and associated outcomes which implies that people who aren’t neurotypical are crazy
@dotcom3015 No, she literally said imagine you're neurotypical and then called the opposite "a crazy person" in comparison
Also why the hell did she say her lawyers were all Jewish? That's so weird and unnecessary. What was she trying to imply?
Wouldnt be makeup culture without the dramaaaaa
True!!
I totally agree! I’m always so curious as to why it’s so bitchy and dramatic!!
Did that girl say her lawyer’s were JEWISH? HUH?!?! What did that matter to literally ANYTHING? That was WEIRD.
Very odd statement
I’m assuming she meant her lawyers are good? Like doesn’t the scripture talk a lot about justice so maybe Jewish lawyers are extra passionate about their job…just theories really
@@ew4645I’d hope so bc girl wtf 😭😭
@@ew4645thats a very generous view of that comment. Usually its because stereotypically lawyers are seen as slimy and that is also the negative stereotype about jewish people as well so its a stereotype for jewish people to be lawyers

Miscommunication? NO. It's a lack of transparency. This mess could've been avoided.👏🏼👏🏼🤦🏼♂️

I mean she could have asked for more information. You don't need to jump to conclusions because you looked at your friend's plane tickets
You wouldn’t get everyone together as such a big group but it would show the influencers that nobody was being treated differently, everyone was getting similar experiences (minus some people getting to go to the big race day)
why do brands think we want to see creators who are already rich get a free trip in the first place? If anything it just makes me mad lmao
I completely agree! It was a weird choice
S$B came across as the one who looks awful in this her vibe is nasty nor have I ever heard of her , all her “ fellow” Creator just toss Brie right under that big ole Bus and continue to just drive over her .
specks and blazers gives the strangest vibes that whole tiktok sounded like a villain monologue like what was she on about
Villain monologue is the best way to describe this
I feel sorry for Bria because it feels like it was more of a personal trigger than anything else.
This idea of “treating everyone the same” doesn’t make any sense if you don’t have the numbers that match the top creators. I don’t know these influencers, so idk if she got really way less numbers or not.
Idk, feels naive??? to expect “equal treatment” if it’s an investment that the brand is making.
Also it didn’t sound like Bria is super into f1 or anything like that, I am and I would’ve been sad to miss race day bc it’s my fave, i hate practice lmao
But the worst is I feel like Bria didn’t reach out to the brand before speaking up?
@@Balletified this is on them that they didn't cater to everyone and research before doing these crazy trips.

and the same creator said she didn’t make enough content about the trip bc she forgot?????? like wtf so confusing
I was like 🙄 waiting them to give an example for a single mistreatment, i expected different food? or fewer gifts? or not allowed to do a luxurious activity? you know A Discrimination where its clear cut you were treated inferior? But the examples mentioned literally happen in family trips between siblings. And to Only say its because of your color not the actual size of your followers (which is why you get invited anyway and thats clear idk what transparency one of them is asking for isn't mind blowing) is making any valid arguments for actual discrimination because of color very muddy.
it definitely sounds like it was a misunderstanding. each person being allocated 3 events across 2 of the 3 available days makes perfect sense.
Exactly. Pulling out the racism card because you’re mad that you got a smaller room is WILD.
To say that if someone didn't start their brand by calling other people, they can never start is so dumb. I think it's good if people gain experience, try products, etc because then they have the knowledge to call people out which is backed by evidence.
SO dumb

complaining about the size of your room when you're invited on an all expenses paid trip just feels so off to me
She literally repeatedly emphasized it's not about the size of the room

This is such a first world problem. Holy hell, I'm sorry but these people definitely sound entitled.

As long as you've been treated equally otherwise, ie amount of products and gifts, then I don't see how room size is a bother.
Would you genuinely complain if you were given that room, that you could do 3 back flips in, FOR FREE, because someone else could do 10 back flips in theirs?
Thats what im saying! Not only that but her room literally went right out to the beach. Its not like she in some dingy cardboard box.😂

why. do. they. keep. doing. trips.... wtf?! did they think the first one went well?! this is crazy, not brands putting more money into trips for influencers instead of literally anything else. crazyyyyy
accusing a brand of being treated unfairly BEFORE you even have anything to do with them is so funny to me she deserves an award
Look, I get racism is a thing but you can’t scream racism every time something doesn’t go your way.
@@BabyGirlTiny idk if you purposely didn’t read my comment or if understanding it was the problem
@@BabyGirlTiny “i get racism is a thing” oh lord you sound so beyond privileged it’s not even funny
Very unprofessional of Bria to just come out publicly about that instead of speaking to Tarte themselves … or even just denying the brand trip and leaving it at that
She did speak to them…she said it!
Agreed. I don’t think there was a need to cry on social media about it. I still follow her and enjoy her content but I just don’t think this whole thing was handled well

Just wanna say that I l o v e the new editing style and the intro, it just flows perfectly with you bringing your points across and your speaking in general
tarte knows eyes are on them for these trips so I doubt they’re dumb enough to intentionally treat bipoc creators differently… both situations seem absolutely coincidental and honestly if we’re gonna raise awareness for the way brands are racist, grievances like “my room isn’t big enough” “Im leaving sooner than my friends” don’t seem like the best way to do it
40 min videos we loooove

I knowww just noticed and got so damn excited lmao
for me as an f1 fan it's just been hard to watch because according to a statistic, 99% of f1 fans will never be able to go to a race and the makeup influencers just get to go not knowing anything, not willing to learn anything and on top of everything creating drama😶
as an f1 fan for my entire life, this is sooo annoying 😭😭 last year i went to the belgian gp and i’m still not financially recovered… i was on the cheapest stand….
It’s SO expensive 😭 Would love to go one day
Love this one so far! All the new intro is super cute, very sleek ❤

The influencer gasp! 😂😂😂
I didn't know who Specks and Blazers was until this video but she honestly seems like someone I would enjoy watching just for the "If I want the contract, I will get it." attitude
Definitely a weird attitude! Not personally my vibe
she kinda weirded me out but a tiny voice in the back of my head knows that shes right and she is just working the system to her advantage. Attitude is INSANE on her but shes a liiiittttle right
I when you were wrapping up about halfway in I thought I was missing something 😂 then the tea just kept on coming!
Same I’m so jealous 😭😭
I think it's good that if there is clear favouritism/preferences due to ethnicity is called out, no matter the situation. I dont believe that racism (if genuine instances of same) should be invalidates by the situation because it gives off a blame the victim vibe. Or at least it minimises the issue by insinuating "well racism is okay if you're already rich or getting something in return".
thank you!!! i think people are not understanding this
A darker girl than Cynthia got a big room.
All I’ve learned from this is that some influencers are remarkably insecure and sensitive over real dumb, petty stuff. :/
I LOVE the long video, I always love ur videos and I get sad when then end. im so happy u blessed us with the 40min 🥰
SMH.

Ngl, the commenters that are mad about the WOC creators calling out inequality are missing the point and giving off major white privilege vibes.
i agree that staying relevant is how brands stay afloat. even though i tried not to get influenced too much, I'm much more likely to buy something from a brand that a lot of people are talking about vs something no one is mentioning unless I already know the product is not for me.
As a disabled person though, I don’t think that this is very applicable. Disability does not see color. Makeup is color.
If you can't treat everyone the same, don't invite so many people, or don't have these trips AT ALL. IT'S NOT THAT HARD MAUREEN.
