Just found you on youtube and I like the way you explain things by pointing out some additionnal details that are very relevant to me as a beginner with Klipper. And thumbs UP for sharing your PC screen while you are explaining steps, I like that!! You have now a new subscriber! 🙂
Hey! That's great to hear, glad to help! I'm in the process of a construction project in the BiB studio area, but with some effort and a bit of time VIDEOS should be coming back shortly. Stick around and let me know if you need anything or have any video ideas. Thank you for subbing.
Thank you very much for your video production. The tutorials are extremely beginner-friendly, and I hope you can make another episode in the future, specifically focusing on configuring the screen, such as screen viewing options for the camera, and so on.
It's been a while since I have made videos so I'm working on getting geared back up - I wasn't overly happy with this video - but I'm happy to help others. I will be doing a few more videos covering the CNC Tap C2 install and such and I'm working on a series of simple how-to for basic and slightly more in-depth printer calibration. And, I'll be throwing in a live stream here and there.
I would - just for the geekness-cool factor! I'm actually going to be making and releasing a custom start-up animation for Voron printers.. Going to put a small BIB water mark on it - but still it should be fun!
Thanks again! - It's a nice tool/add-in. It gives the printer a more polished feel. Stay tuned, I'll be making a Voron-related startup video and modifying the start-up so we can skip the displayed boot processes. I'll make the video for the start-up available to everyone!
I have a CnC tap incoming due to curiosity and I was curious about how it would compare to my current tap. This helps a lot. For your printed tap, are you using the rc8 variant?
This was NOT the RC8. This was prior to the release - having the two long screws in the body should help a lot I would suggest using titanium if you can, if you build the RC8. The biggest issue with tap is - flex and weight. It's an awesome product. It would be hard to deal with anything less now that I have used it for a while. Being able to move from one build plate to another without re-adjusting Z is huge.
@@BuildItBasement Thanks! The weight I'm not so concerned about since I'm aiming for quality prints. It's the flex that is my concern since I'm going nuts over salmon skin VFA and I don't know if it's my A-B motors, the extruder, the belt tightness, belts rubbing against idlers, or the tap wiggling.
im having problems getting klipperscreen to use all 5.5 inch looks like its only using 5 inch and leave a band all around - have you seen this before? Great video btw!
I don't know what screen you have - however, I would attempt to adjust the config.txt file in the boot folder. I would bet you need to adjust the resolution. framebuffer_width=1024 framebuffer_height=600 hdmi_cvt=1024 600 60 3 0 0 0 Possibly? Check to see what the resolution of your screen is and adjust.
I would open a terminal window via putty and do a manual install of Klipper Screen. Written instructions can be found here: klipperscreen.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Installation/ Let me know if you get this sorted and what the final outcome is. If you are still having troubles please let me know -
@@BuildItBasement Thanks for the reply. In the end I discovered it was a permissions error and need this to be executed: sudo bash -c "echo needs_root_rights=yes>>/etc/X11/Xwrapper.config"
@lolthekidison Thanks I do my videos live, meaning I don't do any editing. I try to see where the problems are and not hide them. I use three cameras, I'm just a small channel. My main camera is actually above my monitor tree, that's the second reason for the angle. Hey, always up for suggestions. Don't be shy - my content is viewer driven and nearly always positive!
23 minutes is a fail? This is why people don't do more software configuration videos. There just isn't a lot to see. Hey, sorry it wasn't your cup of tea - if you didn't like the video and you watched it for 23 minutes, who really failed here? If you didn't watch the whole thing, thanks for being judgmental! Have a great day friend! 🤣

Nice video Kermit. I wasn't thinking of adding this screen to my 2.4, but the geek in me is saying yes!!!! 😂

klipper screen is pretty nice loving the build bud

Installed via kiauh, it says installed and I don't even see the klipperscreen.conf file. something is strange

@@BuildItBasement Ultimately I had a Virtual console issue that is featured in the troubleshooters' docs. Works!
Awesome - Thank you for writing back, could help others in the future.@@MoAvW
What screen is that and what size?
...amzn.to/3qNSv5u 5.5" Waveshare
You are making it too hard to resist the urge with the link. 😅. Click away, click away.....
Hmm...thanks for the vid...installed but couldnt see it after reboot?
What di you see on your Klipper screen? Aything? Are you sure you have it powered and properly connected to HDMI?
@@BuildItBasement Thanks for the reply. In the end I discovered it was a permissions error and need this to be executed:

Thanks for reporting back
I've never seen your videos before so don't take this bad. The video was great, just the intro's angle was a bit strange.
No worries, small space!
@@BuildItBasement It works great for the rest of the video.

Thanks for the response, completely understand. Keep up the great work!
Your video is says "Quick easy install" But is 23 minutes long of mostly you talking..... Fail...

I don't know what I did wrong, but I cannot get the touch screen to work.

Your win! Lol.
