If BSG is saying that ingame time changes are effecting performance a lot, they should remove it for now. (by freezing game time as it was when raid started) I mean, it only really has a big effect on gameplay like 2 hours at sunrise and sunset.
That's because the day and night cycle forces them to make lighting dynamic, having a set time means they can just prebake the lighting thus improving performance, but honestly I don't see this netting much of a perf gain, the problem is the game is running only a single core and thread, they need to multithread it.

Light switches are actually a huge change because now instead of entering a building and making noise taking all the lights out so you can keep night vision on you can flip the switch and be basically stealthier
Imagine a large scale version of this concept. Place a couple intractable generators around the Lighthouse rogue compound, hit them all and it results in a blackout for the whole compound, inside and outside. Would be nutz

It doesn't need to be split. It needs to be optimized. They just added a small handful of buildings to Customs and now it doesn't run much better than Streets. Doesn't mean Customs now should be split in half now too.

Delete useless assets, render what’s in your view distance instead of everything, everywhere, all at once. Move resources away from just background shit and random bushes to the actual players and dynamic pieces of the map. Those are just a few possible ideas. Also, as a side note, ABI runs amazingly. They’ve got all the same stuff Tarkov has just worse graphics. So it’s not like it can’t be done 😂
Thanks, pal! Informative as usual. In this wipe, I encountered a few bugs-for instance, my audio randomly disappeared in the middle of a fight. I noticed it happened specifically with the Comtac V headset. Also, big thanks for highlighting the keybindings bug! I couldn’t figure out why screenshots weren’t working.
At this point they should stop developing new features nobody asks for and start to optimize the game from the foundation. I mean the concept of the game is sooo good but all these bugs, bad performance and other things hurt the game a lot. So I would prefer if they rebuild stuff, fix things and make everything we have so far the best experience possible. I don’t care if this takes 2-3 years.
Yeah, that’s why I’ve given up on tarkov for now. Performance gets worse and worse over time, I’m not spending $3000 every other year just to keep up and still play with decent fps.
There is a common bug on PvE with landmines still, it causes ear ringing whenever an AI steps on a landmine. This bug also occasionally causes your audio to bug out; making gunshots and other sounds completely silent. If this happens, dropping your bag and picking it up again will fix your audio.
They have been talking about a huge open world for so long, and now they have to start splitting their maps in half because of performance, instead of combining them 😂
@@GuardienTTV Bad engineers, but there is a actual problem in how what kind of game Tarkov it is. Since its more of a simulation (AI/Loot) than FPS, its more CPU/RAM heavy instead of GPU heavy. Most gamers heavily invest in GPU and not so much the other so thats also a problem. But mostly bad engineers

Unity doesn't have real culling out of the box, at least the old version they're using, so all the items in a building are still there when you leave, being rendered, which is terrible for performance. It would require them to code their own culling solution, which is ... well think about it this way, if you're looking inside another building from across the street, you need to see inside it to see people and stuff through all the broken windows and doors. So you can't just turn stuff off in the building if you're not in it. You need a solution that literally checks if you can see something or not. If you just coded that willy nilly into unity, performance would tank even more because that's so many checks. Unity 6 solves this by introducing GPU culling, which uses your GPU hardware to do that check, so it's more or less free. However using this would require the devs to upgrade to Unity 6, which introduces its own set of problems
They are treating symptoms instead the cause. Get rid of problems with optimalization. This game CAN run smoothly for most players even on streets if they actually focus on optimalization and engine problems. In my case for example with ryzen 5700x and rtx 4060ti i have problems, but this game is focused on 1 core and use only around 35% cpu and gpu. That’s the problem, not size of sot

It won't happen unless they update the game to DX12. It's still running DX11 which is ancient at this point and new hardware is not designed to run on it
The way I understood the time zone freeze on streets is that it wouldn’t be like Factory and labs but rather they would just “freeze” the time of day it is when you load into raid and it wouldn’t change, and they’d just have a few different lighting profiles depending on what time it said it was when you matched

Well yea the game was set for a loke 5 year old unity engine. There’s bound to be weird things that break that they weren’t expecting. Even with testing it before hand.

FYI converting Christmas balls in cultist circle doesn't give you another different colour ball all the time. Sometimes it will give you other objects.
One thing I will point out, Tarkov audio doesn’t get messed up by all 3rd party audio programs, just most of them. The one I use to reverse my audio channels works fine (TL:DR, 20 years ago when I started gaming I always wore headsets backwards because I wanted the mic on the right side of my face and so I got so used to playing with the audio backwards that it just became normal for me)… and it feels like I am able to pinpoint where sounds are coming from in the game extremely accurately since the patch, something that was always an issue for me in Tarkov. Did a raid after installing the patch and I was surprised at how easily I could tell exactly where a scav or PMC was and has definitely enhanced the experience.

Yesterday playing PVE with the boys we did the transition to reserve. Only to spawn with a whole squad of PMCs and they wiped us because they could shoot before we could fully load in

Another addition with the map updates that many might not realize is that lights on the older maps don't give off thermal signatures. I run a ton of thermals and having lights show up as hot does make a difference as sometimes they do seem like it could be a person if you're looking through a bush or something. They have been adding thermal sigs for lights with the updates too. Shoreline for example. Before it was just LH, Streets and GZ that had this.
Yeah like streets I actually have a problem running customs now since the Christmas $hit was added I’m sure the expansion has a lot to do with it as well but hopefully when they get rid of all the Christmas stuff it runs a little better
Yh I'm pretty sure it's all the snow. It's bugging out the whole game,no wonder v memory is running out,same maps but now coverd in clumps of snow everywhere just because of that it's like the map memory had doubled in size I'll be glad when it's gone was fun but caused more problems that it was worth.
What about the "bug" that when you try to play customs you get a server connection lost and have to reload in like 3 times? Are there any comments on that from BSG?
There’s also a progression bug where when you extract from the map or even just die you don’t loose or gain anything . Its like as if you never even went into raid
First raid of the wipe it happened to me after killing a duo on the grenade launcher and grabbing the hard drive. Group of 3 scabs head jaw me with buckshot
If freezing times saves performance as BSG say then they should just freeze all times and have one day and one night. The day/night cycle is nice but it adds nothing if it creates a worse experience performance wise.
Tarkov is fun and unique but it has become obvious that the devs have wasted months and years working on completely irrelevant and stupid shit that most players don't use like BTR, lightkeeper, unheard edition exclusive benefits and so much more. I still love to play during wipes but holy f. Their focus is completely off, game runs like shit on top end PCs they need to worry about base game

Hey! I’m just trying to bring some awareness to two bugs that haven’t been being talked about and I’m hoping more people test it confirm it and report it. 1. Gym bug: first raid after using the gym will not give you any gains in endurance or strength 2. Using any stims that effect your stamina or increase your strength or endurance will no longer gain any skill points after using the stim (regardless if it’s below level 51 after stim expires too)

FYI searching for spatial sound on Windows 11 doesn't find anything because it has to be changed for every different device that's plugged in. settings -> system -> sound -> click on whatever headphones/speakers you use for tarkov -> spatial sound
They always say that stuff about "optimization" but with every update it gets WORSE. I'm on shoreline with like 30-40 fps, when I previously, just about a year ago, had like 80-100 fps
For those of us that remeber, when they added reserve, it was much like streets. Even on the best PCs it ran stun 60 fps, and many People couldn't play the map. It runs just fine now.

For the sound bug, it happens to me a lot but I found an easier fix for myself than alt f4. I turn my headphones on and off and reconnect them and it fixes the audio
If they can't get Streets to run properly, we're literally *NEVER* getting the full, open-world version of this game they promised years ago. And believe the whole "transit" system is basically them admitting they can't do it. Also, I don't know if the coding for PVE is different from PVP, but I've noticed on PVE the sound bug is practically every time you either reload a magazine or interact with an object in raid, like looting.

The only reason we currently have the segmented maps was because when they initially released the game into beta they didn't have the resources or tech to make it one single map. It is not only that. Even some streamers have problems on it. A friend of mine with a 9800x3d and a 4090 even has drops to 50fps on it sometimes. And nikita even said that the servers got problems on it aswell
I have a bug that is linked to tab when i go to inventory or come out of looting a body that it black screens i spam tab and it goes back to normal. Not sure if this is a hardware issue or in game 10:44
As far as streets goes, I can't speak for others but me and my friends actually liked it back when it was first released more than how it is now so I wouldn't mind them splitting it.
We had the BTR bug last night on woods. The sound bug only gets fixed by reconnecting. i had it while the winter event and transitioned to the next map and had still no sound.
I'm having an issue with where I load in with a headset and have to reload my weapon to get the effects of the headset. If I don't it's almost like I don't have a headset on and I can hear heavy wind and everything.
Maybe if they split streets they can make the second half of it be on transition only. You could transit to the deeper streets where maybe some of the tougher ai is and better loot
I havent had really any issues this wipe like others have, not realy experiencing the jitters or rubber bands, my audio hasnt cut out yet. None of my raids reset early wipe.
Glad they fixed lightkeeper w/ zyriachy spawning at the first building and isnta aggro. However, the crafts for virtex and cofdm havent been added to intel centers after completion of the associated quests. But thats better than getting killed by the cultist guards after leaving lightkeepers room with rewards lol
They fixed the transition bug, but now you can spawn directly next to scavs. Happened to me a few times now, nearly died on the last one. He was shooting me before I was even in raid, only survived because I had class 5 armor and he had a pistol.
Low key having fixed times would be enjoyable for those who only want to play day or night, if it helps performance having pre baked lightings and shadows, it’s a win win.
the cultist circle xmas ball thing doesn't work for me. i put 5 red balls first time and ofc it didn't work and after that 1 ball trades just give random stuff and not other xmas balls like you said.
Have you heard anything about hideout mannequins not working. I have my mannequins at level 3 but none of them pop up. They're all invisible and I can't access any of them. It's been in the game forever and they've never fixed it.
A week ago lightkeeper (getting acquainted) was still bugged as I was immediately attacked when I opened the door to access lighthouse and when I killed the cultists the mission failed.
I've had boss's like tagilla and gluhar fall through the map when I kill them, their gun stays in the air but their body disappears and I can't loot them, pretty annoying when you fight them and PMC's off and you can't even loot the boss after all the work
I have fixed the audio cut out bug in raid. I swapped my windows audio to my monitor speakers. Powered of my Bluetooth headphones. Powered them back on and swapped the windows audio back to my headphones. Solved the issue
Glad I finally grabbed the last few things I needed to get the Christmas ornaments I needed to get a 2nd armor plate case. I've got it finishing now before work, and I might try and just throw a few other things in there if I can before the stuff vanishes.
As far as the ornament in the cultist circle, by "one at a time" does that mean one color at a time or one ornament? Could you put in 5 red and get back 5 white?
Can confirm the BTR bug is not fixed, and was never a squad only bug. I play primarily solo and have had it happen before and after the fix went live. Something fun happened AFTER the fix though where when I got back in the game, instead of being teleported back to where I was before the BTR moved, I was still stuck in it but able to climb inside again, so I did - then I climbed out. Then I encountered a PMC (i was a scav) and his bullets did no damage to me. By the time I realized what was happening and stopped shooting he was hurt too badly and bled out.
id really like to see more experimenting with flea market, it spices up the game. An interesting spin would be making it barter-only for another 2 week period

I have had this happen to me a few raids now as well. Only way to fix it is to alt f4 and reload.
They also claimed that they fixed the no item 14 hour cultist circle. They haven’t.

new unity version has more multithreading options and tools for them to use... but it takes time to implement. its not a switch to flip

None of the major game breaking issues will ever be fixed. It’s been like 7 years now and they still exist.
It won't happen unless they update the game to DX12. It's still running DX11 which is ancient at this point and new hardware is not designed to run on it

The way I understood the time zone freeze on streets is that it wouldn’t be like Factory and labs but rather they would just “freeze” the time of day it is when you load into raid and it wouldn’t change, and they’d just have a few different lighting profiles depending on what time it said it was when you matched
only had a mate get the Sound Cutting Bug. First raid after watching this vid, I got it too out of nowhere in one of the new customs buildings (next to hole in a whole at ruaf)

Please don't split up Streets. I like the other idea about freezing the time. It's a shame it's come to this even with the engine update. It's like they really can't take the game further to the point where they are actually going backwards instead of progressing.
Well yea the game was set for a loke 5 year old unity engine. There’s bound to be weird things that break that they weren’t expecting. Even with testing it before hand.

FYI converting Christmas balls in cultist circle doesn't give you another different colour ball all the time. Sometimes it will give you other objects.

FR, No more shooting lights to darken rooms is a plus.
One thing I will point out, Tarkov audio doesn’t get messed up by all 3rd party audio programs, just most of them.
The one I use to reverse my audio channels works fine (TL:DR, 20 years ago when I started gaming I always wore headsets backwards because I wanted the mic on the right side of my face and so I got so used to playing with the audio backwards that it just became normal for me)… and it feels like I am able to pinpoint where sounds are coming from in the game extremely accurately since the patch, something that was always an issue for me in Tarkov.
Did a raid after installing the patch and I was surprised at how easily I could tell exactly where a scav or PMC was and has definitely enhanced the experience.
Freeze the times. Who even cares about that stuff? Splitting the map is kinda killing the whole appeal of the map

With mutlithrading, that wouldn't even be remotely close to an issue.. They'll have to implement multithreading if they want to make one big open world map, like they've been promising for 5+ years lol

Yesterday playing PVE with the boys we did the transition to reserve. Only to spawn with a whole squad of PMCs and they wiped us because they could shoot before we could fully load in
Getting spawn camped in pve would make me uninstall faster than i can say the fear of long words
I have the same shorts on my channel. Loaded on Reserv and instantly killed by PMC.

Another addition with the map updates that many might not realize is that lights on the older maps don't give off thermal signatures. I run a ton of thermals and having lights show up as hot does make a difference as sometimes they do seem like it could be a person if you're looking through a bush or something. They have been adding thermal sigs for lights with the updates too. Shoreline for example. Before it was just LH, Streets and GZ that had this.
Yeah like streets I actually have a problem running customs now since the Christmas $hit was added I’m sure the expansion has a lot to do with it as well but hopefully when they get rid of all the Christmas stuff it runs a little better

It's bugging out the whole game,no wonder v memory is running out,same maps but now coverd in clumps of snow everywhere just because of that it's like the map memory had doubled in size I'll be glad when it's gone was fun but caused more problems that it was worth.
What about the "bug" that when you try to play customs you get a server connection lost and have to reload in like 3 times? Are there any comments on that from BSG?

First raid of the wipe it happened to me after killing a duo on the grenade launcher and grabbing the hard drive. Group of 3 scabs head jaw me with buckshot

If freezing times saves performance as BSG say then they should just freeze all times and have one day and one night. The day/night cycle is nice but it adds nothing if it creates a worse experience performance wise.

Tarkov is fun and unique but it has become obvious that the devs have wasted months and years working on completely irrelevant and stupid shit that most players don't use like BTR, lightkeeper, unheard edition exclusive benefits and so much more. I still love to play during wipes but holy f. Their focus is completely off, game runs like shit on top end PCs they need to worry about base game

Hey! I’m just trying to bring some awareness to two bugs that haven’t been being talked about and I’m hoping more people test it confirm it and report it.
1. Gym bug: first raid after using the gym will not give you any gains in endurance or strength
2. Using any stims that effect your stamina or increase your strength or endurance will no longer gain any skill points after using the stim (regardless if it’s below level 51 after stim expires too)

Not to mention the many many things they’ve claimed they’d add or do and haven’t followed through with. I wouldn’t get to worked up about the streets split because the devs have been making claims for years and not following through with them.
FYI searching for spatial sound on Windows 11 doesn't find anything because it has to be changed for every different device that's plugged in.
settings -> system -> sound -> click on whatever headphones/speakers you use for tarkov -> spatial sound
Searching for it works for me...

Terminal being a different kind of experience sounds cool. What Nikita said makes it sound like old-school hardcore MMO raids.
They always say that stuff about "optimization" but with every update it gets WORSE. I'm on shoreline with like 30-40 fps, when I previously, just about a year ago, had like 80-100 fps
The sound bug has happened to me twice. Both times was when I went into the bunker on woods. I haven’t gone down there since😂
They can't fix 2 lines of code of bugs, do you really think they'll be able to make street run on non high-end pcs?
For those of us that remeber, when they added reserve, it was much like streets. Even on the best PCs it ran stun 60 fps, and many People couldn't play the map.
It runs just fine now.

When you cookie cutter buildings and they are completely empty inside it's easy to crank up the performance.

I hate the splitting. Streets for me is the most awesome map every created in an online shooter. I dont want that shit split.
For the sound bug, it happens to me a lot but I found an easier fix for myself than alt f4. I turn my headphones on and off and reconnect them and it fixes the audio
If they can't get Streets to run properly, we're literally *NEVER* getting the full, open-world version of this game they promised years ago. And believe the whole "transit" system is basically them admitting they can't do it.
Also, I don't know if the coding for PVE is different from PVP, but I've noticed on PVE the sound bug is practically every time you either reload a magazine or interact with an object in raid, like looting.
Why would anyone want an open world Tarkov? Even if they could do it, it’s one of those just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should.

The only reason we currently have the segmented maps was because when they initially released the game into beta they didn't have the resources or tech to make it one single map. There are still plenty of people who want to see the original vision of the game
Light keeper works now however the cultists on the island spawn and stay infront of the main door at the front entrance to the island where the turnstile is

Still having the rubberbanding bug mentioned at 6:52 for me it happened twice when playing with a group on Interchange and again on woods…
If they split streets I simply won't play it again, why ruin something because some players can't run it on their shit PC's
It is not only that. Even some streamers have problems on it. A friend of mine with a 9800x3d and a 4090 even has drops to 50fps on it sometimes. And nikita even said that the servers got problems on it aswell

I have a bug that is linked to tab when i go to inventory or come out of looting a body that it black screens i spam tab and it goes back to normal. Not sure if this is a hardware issue or in game 10:44

As far as streets goes, I can't speak for others but me and my friends actually liked it back when it was first released more than how it is now so I wouldn't mind them splitting it.
We had the BTR bug last night on woods.
The sound bug only gets fixed by reconnecting. i had it while the winter event and transitioned to the next map and had still no sound.
I'm having an issue with where I load in with a headset and have to reload my weapon to get the effects of the headset. If I don't it's almost like I don't have a headset on and I can hear heavy wind and everything.
Maybe if they split streets they can make the second half of it be on transition only. You could transit to the deeper streets where maybe some of the tougher ai is and better loot
I havent had really any issues this wipe like others have, not realy experiencing the jitters or rubber bands, my audio hasnt cut out yet. None of my raids reset early wipe.
Glad they fixed lightkeeper w/ zyriachy spawning at the first building and isnta aggro. However, the crafts for virtex and cofdm havent been added to intel centers after completion of the associated quests. But thats better than getting killed by the cultist guards after leaving lightkeepers room with rewards lol
They fixed the transition bug, but now you can spawn directly next to scavs. Happened to me a few times now, nearly died on the last one. He was shooting me before I was even in raid, only survived because I had class 5 armor and he had a pistol.

the cultist circle xmas ball thing doesn't work for me. i put 5 red balls first time and ofc it didn't work and after that 1 ball trades just give random stuff and not other xmas balls like you said.

Have you heard anything about hideout mannequins not working. I have my mannequins at level 3 but none of them pop up. They're all invisible and I can't access any of them. It's been in the game forever and they've never fixed it.

So since the patch about 1/4 of the time I load into Customs I get a server error and can’t get into the match. Anyone else having this issue?
A week ago lightkeeper (getting acquainted) was still bugged as I was immediately attacked when I opened the door to access lighthouse and when I killed the cultists the mission failed.
I've had boss's like tagilla and gluhar fall through the map when I kill them, their gun stays in the air but their body disappears and I can't loot them, pretty annoying when you fight them and PMC's off and you can't even loot the boss after all the work
I have spacial audio off in steel series. Is it okay to still use the equalizer?
I have fixed the audio cut out bug in raid. I swapped my windows audio to my monitor speakers. Powered of my Bluetooth headphones. Powered them back on and swapped the windows audio back to my headphones. Solved the issue
Glad I finally grabbed the last few things I needed to get the Christmas ornaments I needed to get a 2nd armor plate case. I've got it finishing now before work, and I might try and just throw a few other things in there if I can before the stuff vanishes.
As far as the ornament in the cultist circle, by "one at a time" does that mean one color at a time or one ornament? Could you put in 5 red and get back 5 white?
Can confirm the BTR bug is not fixed, and was never a squad only bug. I play primarily solo and have had it happen before and after the fix went live. Something fun happened AFTER the fix though where when I got back in the game, instead of being teleported back to where I was before the BTR moved, I was still stuck in it but able to climb inside again, so I did - then I climbed out. Then I encountered a PMC (i was a scav) and his bullets did no damage to me. By the time I realized what was happening and stopped shooting he was hurt too badly and bled out.
for the audio problem, just unequip and equip your headset
id really like to see more experimenting with flea market, it spices up the game. An interesting spin would be making it barter-only for another 2 week period
