That was a fascinating exercise, and your commentary, as you first began to compare temperatures in that very limited palette, drew me in. Later when you said the temperature and value combination was easier to see, I suddenly saw it too.
    Thank you for doing this.

I'm thrilled that you've begun doing these videos. I've been working as a painter for over 40 yrs but am always looking for new inspiration and new ideas, and over the last 2 or 3 years you have been one of those inspirations. It's so nice to see how you actually begin a painting, how you use a brush, etc. And the color temperature experiment is very helpful for me. Thank you and I'm looking forward to more videos!

Thanks! I’m missing my usual face-to-face teaching. Someone suggested I try this. I’m glad it’s inspiring someone!

Exactly.seeing paint applied teaches me so much. Also to have the thought process narrated like this really helps. Perfect tutorial vid.

From essentially 2 shades of one colour, you can produce the basis (or even all of) a portrait. I loved watching this process and I need now to try it myself!

It works a lot better if the colours are more spaced out, like burnt umber and viridian, e.g.

Hey - are you still playing? All the 90s bands are coming back... A pity we never played a song in public.

@@jamesbland680 ha, yes, I`m still trying to play. I must be getting the hang of it by now! And we did almost play a song in public, we just stopped when anyone approached haha

I know you are painfully modest - but why not put your credentials on your page. One of the best artists in the country who has exhibited in some really impressive places. Deserves to be seen.
