In Europe we have a separate switch in the door panel for the mirrors. "Up" = not folding (e.g. when it will be freezing overnight & you don't want to burn the mirror motors); "middle" = default setting, auto folding upon leaving the car; "down" = immediatly folding.
I'm going to disable mine I've had my CX-9 for 3 months and already the driver side mirrors half broken. It doesn't pull all the way in when turning the car off. So I'm just going to disable it. It's gimmicky anyways
I have the 2023 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition and the auto folding isn’t enabled. I did the ignition part, push the lock button for 3-5 seconds, but have not push the button outside the door, so I will try that. Will update.
My mazda 3, 2015 won't close side mirrors automactly. When I close them manualy (by my hands) thay opening. I don't have button for side mirrors inside my car. Any suggestion?
Doesn’t work on my wife’s CX-9. But I’m not surprised, nothing works on that car. It’s literally the worst car I’ve had the displeasure of driving in 40 years. 👎🏻😅
Thanks Dave. I like the power mirrors, but I hate the auto folding ones. It also wears out the gears in there for no reason.

If you're where is going to be freezing wet weather, good idea to disable mirrors in the out position in winter.
On my Mazda 3, 2020 model bought in Europe - I do this procedure easily from the settings menue in the display

What do I do if one of the mirrors only folds in half way? The passenger mirror folds all the way in and the driver only goes halfway.

Hello, I have the 2022 cx 9 turbo touring plus do I have folding mirrors? I thought I did but I could be wrong.
In the USA. Carbons are the 1st trim that get the auto folding mirrors. The touring and touring plus don’t have them.

Picking one up soon, the 2018 one we're getting has a simple button to fold out, auto or fold in (so three way switch)

I’m not sure. I don’t think the Mazda6s that we sold here, in the US, had power folding mirrors.

Thanks for the comment. The GT doesn’t have power folding mirrors. The GT with premium package would have them.
