Brilliant video Steve, if you go to La Azohia again, its well worth taking the access path up to the old look out tower overlooking the harbour, there are access stairs up to the roof, the views from up there are breathtaking. My favourite evening walk is from the car park in Isla Plana, along the beach, up the wooden stairs, along the footpath then along the paseo all the way to the harbour in La Azohia and back. Its about an hour and a halve yomp or a two hour walk, if I go with my son its always turns it into a yomp, he is a very keen walker.
Yes I definitely want to go up to the tower, unfortunately Yogi had a rental bike and we only had a hour to get back to Bolnuevo. I will return 😎👍. Thanks for watching.
I really enjoyed this video Steve. It was lovely to see familiar places, since I have walked from Playa de Nares to the Jesus statue and back. It would have been much better if I'd had a bike though. You and Yogi did really well on the bike. That hill up to the statue near El Faro is pretty steep, even with pedal-assist on! Great views up there.
Just as you leave Isla Plana, if you take a right turn following the Campsite sign it will lead you to a well surfaced coastal path that eventually leads to the Paseo along the seafront taking you into La Azohia, it is very scenic with lovely sea views , much better than following the main road.
Glad your ribs have recovered. Thank you for that video. Andy and I were thinking of hiring some e-bikes and doing that route. Maybe we will do it in chunks like Bolnuevo to Mazarron and another day Isla Plana to La Azohia. Another cycle route we were considering is the Road through the Rambla del Canar which starts from a car park at the recycling centre between Isla Plana and La Azohia just past the Campsite just outside Isla Plana on the La Azohia side. You go on a road through a tomato farm and then you come to this Rambla / valley which is spectacular. Shaun has been there in his car! Andy and I have been there on foot. I think it would be an easier ride on an e-bike than Bolnuevo to Perchelles.
Glad you liked the video Fiona. It’s a nice route to cycle. The route the ramble you was talking about I’ve been up there with Shaun in his car the views are fabulous and now you have reminded me it’s one I must also do on the bike. Thank for watching.
one hell of a long ride steve, poor yogi wont be able to sit down for a week. how do people go on when they hire a bike & get a puncture when they are miles away & cannot repair it themselves.? do the hire bikes have solid tyres or something ? great vid again steve.
The bike have normal tyres all you have to do Steve is call the bike shop and they’ll send someone out to fix the puncture, the shop in Bolnuevo is very help-full. I still don’t think Yogi can sit down properly 😂. Thanks for watching Steve.
Top Man for the mention's and my "Ring the Bell" Steve, well you and Yogi did a long bike ride to La Azohia, I'll stick with the car :)
Enjoyed watching this as I used to live in Puerto de Mazarron back in 2004,5 and 6
Thanks for watching… I’ve just uploaded part 2 exploring the Mazarrón mine’s 😎👍
Another great video Steve, keep it up.
Awesome ride Steve really enjoyed the day and thanks for organising the session 👍😎
No problem Yogi… we will have to go out again on your next visit. 😎👍
@@Exploring_Murcia_and_Beyond yes definitely, I look forward to seeing what you may have planned for me 😎👍

Are you coming to Camposol?
@@Exploring_Murcia_and_Beyond We are Steve. Would be great to say Hello and buy you a coffee.
That would be great … just let me know when you arrive so we can arrange something.
Gave me a sore bottom just watching that long ride!

Love this video. I hope the next bike I hire doesn’t have those squeaky brakes 😂
I hope so too! Yogi
Didn't know that about the med.
Those brakes were so squeaky lol 😂
I thought it was your knees 😂.
