Have you ever seen the "SoloPill"? I was just looking up pill dispensors(which is how I found yours) I think something like that could be 3D printed as well!
Such an useful 3D print work which deserve so much more attention. Please let us know what is the model of vibration sensor and servo motor used. Thank you again for the inspiring work.
This is an excellent idea @Mellow_Labs & I know I am making this project into a monster in my head, with needing to add color-detection, size/shape sensing capabilities (see my responses to other commenters) & other things that are bouncing through my gray matter. But, I hope you see the need for an open source solution for the masses (excellent comment by Labor Creates All Wealth), and others, with the skills to help you make it happen, will join you in this (POSSIBLE) endeavor to make this this shine!! Just sayin'. :)
Let's all reverse engineer and open-source the Pyxis® eco-system. Open-sourcing these industrial pill dispensers would save millions of dollars and increase the safety, reliability, and modularity of healthcare. For-profit healthcare executives systematically short staff nurses and other healthcare workers to increase profits. We all but especially nurses would benefit from better, cheaper, open-sourced pill dispensers.
It’s one of those amzn.to/46FMMOB It’s kind of a pain to put up so have multiple people. You can always get paint but I haven’t tried it so I can’t vouch for it.
Biggest problem this is for a very small number of pills. My wife takes 15 pills in the morning alone. This is the type of person that could use this type of unit. If you are having problems taking 3 pills. You have bigger problems then taking pills.
Sounds like my wife. Plus, a handful at night!! This comment goes very well with the comment from Labor Creates All Wealth. Sure, I 3D printed her a 7-Day Pillbox, which helps to keep things less confusing at med times (Sunday mornings are stressful when it's time to fill the box). But, poor, old people like us NEED an opensource, reasonable-cost solution for the "pill for everything" PROBLEM that Big Pharma has gotten everyone hooked on. I won't derail this vid/comment section with full-on rant. But, I think you get my point. BTW, I've dabbled in Arduino & ESP8266 & LOVE building circuits/hardware but never really learned to code. Now, I 3D print.
Awesome innovation- saw the piece on this on Hackaday
Nice final design! Much cleaner. Makes sense that micropy should have an option for servo frequency.
So, I’m planning to use this for a life and death situation. That cool?
Now I'm thinking how I can make it a pill dispenser for my dog… he only needs a single daily pill (that is flavored, so he loves it)

Nice project. Is it possible to enlarge the holes for the pills. I know some pills my wife and mother-in-law take are quite large.
Yeah that’s doable, I uploaded the editable files on printable if you want to give it a go.

Thank you for the kind words, i'm using the "SW420 Vibration Sensor"
@@Mellow_labs Sorry- which model servo? Great work, btw!
@@ChristopherHoovler thanks 🙏 I’m using these ones: amzn.eu/d/0O3Q07h but the plastic ones work just fine though.
@@Mellow_labs Thank you so much!!😊😊
Amazing work 😍
Please where is the link for the 3d parts
The link you shared isn’t work

IRL I am a doctor and strongly support this sentiment, which i did not at all imagine i would encounter in my non-work pursuits.
I agree whole-heartedly!!!
Nice work
Thanks
what is that whiteboard on your wall? I want one. :)

Where do I get D1 mini?
You can find them pretty cheap on Amazon and eBay amzn.to/44dBPCT
nice one bro, would you ever consider selling these as a kit or something?
I wouldn’t mind making them as a kit, I don’t think there’s enough interest, I could do a couple requests but they would probably cost around £60.
@@Mellow_labs to be honest mate, i would be willing to pay that no problem at all
If you could DM me on insta or Reddit I’m sure we can work something out.
@@Mellow_labs i will do asap bro thanks a lot
hello , wont two pills fall with this design at same time if the box is full of pills?
It happens rarely, but it does happen. This is why I put so much emphasis on not using it things that are crucial.
Can i get the schematics?
Do i need to program the raspberry Pi pico
here's all the info you need. www.hackster.io/Mellow_labs/automated-pill-dispenser-d00bf6
What cost for doing this project?
if you have a 3d printer, maybe £20.
Model files are in which format ?
Stl and step
