  • Karnataka's labour department issued a new circular allowing businesses with more than 10 employees to open 24x7. Welcoming the move, young Bengalurians called it a step towards progress. Meanwhile, citing reasons of crime and nuisance, Residents Welfare Associations have opposed the state government's proposal to make Bengaluru's nightlife thriving.

There is no such thing as junk food, because people in Europe and middle East eat these same food and do have long lifespans . The problem is adulteration or quality control and awareness about what quantity can you have! The ingredients for these food are not cheap but people are not willing to pay more than a certain price, so the restaurants adulterate and go with cheaper ingredients, that's the fundamental problem, unless people identify the exact problem and then think of solution, this problem will never change! For example if you need to have original cheese in pizza , minimum cost will be around 500 rupees (minimum that is ) and you cannot sell anything lower , but unfortunately Indians have fixed 250 to 350 as the cost of a single pizza, I'm talking about majority not the rich , so these pizza shops use fake cheese which is highly unhealthy , and pizzas start from as low as 100rupees which technically doesn't make sense at all !! If there is more demand for good quality pizza and better government standards for food , only then we will get healthier ingredients, So demand for these food should increase rather than decrease to make it more healthier and affordable!

I am supposed to return to Bangalore in September after like 2 years of WFH and I am scared of getting back to the hustle and bustle of that city. Got to know the metro construction has reached Marathali area is really making me think twice to return. Old Bangalore is so peaceful at night. I used to go for night rides to find some restaurants serving biryani and kebabs on cold rainy nights. For sure this change will take away the charm of peaceful nights

Its ridiculous to bring 24*7 commercial establishment rule when the rest of the futuristic world is experimenting to shift to a 4 day work week to balance the official and personal life. Lets respect the human and nature which works in scientific clock. The country is already bearing the burnt by removing mandatory sunday holiday for commercial establishments which puts pressure on the civic administration at the peak on all 7 days a week. Prosperity comes in Value and not Volume.

This is the best decision by the Karnataka govt. I have been staying in Bangalore for almost 4 years now. The 24x7 law is such a huge step for people like students, bachelors, night shift workers, travelers. The opinion of the elders doesn’t matter. They are retired and they get food on time at home so my suggestion to them is just sleep tight and enjoy the retirement. We have to change our ways of living according to the demand of the new world.

Pastries is equal to chips , it's just carbs. But rolls or burgers is equivalent to a balanced meal including carbs, proteins, fats and vegetables in the right proportion. Only thing is the ingredients should be healthy and not fake or adulterated . You cannot get a proper burger or pizza for less than 500 rupees , this will be how much it costs if you make it at home , restaurants want profits on top of costs for building rent , salary for staff and other expenses, so obviously it will cost more money. Whether you want it or not, the option to have establishments open for the people who need it should be considered important . A true metropolitan city in any part of the world runs 24/7 . Because for international buisness and employees who travel around the world, there is no day and night . And allowing establishments to be open at night catering to such people is like setting up the infrastructure and foundation required for the economy to thrive ! At one point we did not require 12 lane roads, but they still made it because of demand and thinking about future. Now 12 lane roads are also insufficient because the level of traffic is even higher and growing everyday. So you need more options and flexibility and this should not be an obstacle for a buisness entity choosing some other location instead of namma Bengaluru!

Its a welcoming move as its been decades that some of us are working in night shifts and face lot of difficulties like lack of transportation, limited food joints, last month i was talking with one of my friend that all the metrocities like delhi ncr banglore mumbai etc should move towards going towards 24*7 as it will be convenient for the people who is working in night shift and morever as it is said that more crime happen in night as its because there is very limited public in night in case night becomes like morning and we go into 24*7 model it will reduce the crime rate as well! Atleast make transportation 24*7 like public buses metro etc.

@@GhostRealm8 we cannot force the government and make the rules and regulations better so that the food a common man eats in India becomes better. But we have the power to stop eating food there and reduce their buisness, so they have to improve and make things better or they have to close their buisness because of loss ! Same thing goes for biriyani also . If you want to make a chicken biriyani , it will cost you minimum 80 to 100 rupees at home per person, but in India in roadside you can get chicken biriyani for 60 - 80 rupees, if at home it will cost 80 rupees to make then a buisness person needs to make profits on top, so the same 80 rupees biriyani he cannot sell less than 100 rupees. So if roadside they are selling to a common Indian for 80 rupees means he made that biriyani for 60 rupees. That means he got very cheap chicken ! How do you get cheap chicken? While transporting in trucks a lot of chicken will die , the driver will sell this chicken for 50 rupees per kg and a biriyani has 2 or 3 pieces of chicken as standard, that's why roadside biriyani can be made for 60rupees and sold to customer for 80rupees . And majority of Indians have such kind of food from outside. Adulteration is there in every type of Indian food whether it is vegetarian or non vegetarian or north Indian or south indian, but unfortunately people think only American food is junk food but they are eating poisonous Indian food in small restaurants at cheap price and don't know anything about it!

@@GhostRealm8 Most problematic is the oil . For example sunflower seeds 1kg is quite expensive 300 to 350 rupees per kg. You need 1.5kg of sunflower seeds to make 1 litres of oil . So if you make sunflower oil at home it will cost you around 500 rupees minimum, but if you see gold winner sunflower oil 1litres is 200 rupees, and even cheaper oil is used in hotels , so i am sorry to say this but in majority of Indian food restaurants very cheap adulterated dangerous oil is used to cook any type of food whether Indian or foreign ! And then people are scared why lot of Indians are getting cancer and heart attacks ! Reality is very horrible brother! India is the worst country in the world for cancer , diabetes , lung diseases and heart diseases!

I usually have more energy after entire day of work where I would prefer to swim or walk post dinner at 9 / 10 pm and but all facilities shut down and are only friendly to people having 9 to 5 or no jobs like children!! Working people for private companies are left with only option to hit pubs and restaurants and occasionally some gaming arenas which stay open only till 10 pm for any recreational activities…. Let’s open our gardens also for late night strolls with ample cctvs. The place from where I belong, Vadodara… you can’t see people strolling till 11 pm in most public gardens.

The simple explanation is if you get these foods at very cheap rates then they are doing something shady in the background !
