I like the way George handled that interview. He handled it with care.
I see what you did there... or should I say I see what yer did thurr.
He did indeed. He clearly wasn't wanting any attention but I think the charm of the young lady won him over, for a few seconds at least.
@@cockshield I love it! thurr and curr...
I love the sound of his sweet voice
Nice!
It's hard to believe that George would die just a little over a year after this interview. George was a kind soul who was polite, hilarious, talented, and he was simply a great man.
some cancers move "very" fast
He was all those things. I hope Dhani is the same - he seems to be
I miss him. I will always love him 🙏
George was always a gentleman it really shows here how he accepted the uninvited interview.
I wonder how John would’ve handled it
@@raymondnguyen5813 sometimes depending on his mood he would accept an uninvited interview
@@raymondnguyen5813 John used to love interviews. Never a bad face when people aproached him
For a guy dealing with cancer and had almost been stabbed to death the year before, he had a great attitude. He was a very intelligent person as well. Lets not forget GREAT guitarist.
Exactly, you are totally right!!! No one in this material world would have stopped for an interview in the middle of a Formula One Racing party in Canada like the humble, the very nice and spiritual guy like George and he was passing through a terrible disease with no cure and heavy treatments like George Harrison!!!👏👏👏👏💖
Ah bless George, he was going to be ascerbic and blunt, but her innocence and good intentions won him over, question by question. You could see him settling more each second, as he could sense she meant no harm, and therefore he ended up being very gracious.
WilburyVision i like your comment
Yes ,very true. Maybe sometimes they could just decide not to do that though, just let him be No pun intended.
I imagine that he was suffering from ptsd after the horrific attack in his home. I can't imagine that mixing in public after that was easy. (But, got to pay your dues if you want to sing the blues...)
totally agree...she's so nice and George can't resist a woman...if it was a guy it would have been a different story
I'm glad he was able to walk around that room without everyone staring at him.
You can see it go over his face...as soon as he figured out the line of questions would be the music he liked and his hobby - he's into it. Yeah he probably wanted to be left alone but this just proves what a great guy he was. All class.
I miss George so much it hurts
George's pronunciation of "croissants" cracks me up!
Brackets is another classic aha
Febrewarry...😂🤣
He was in poor health, and he obviously wasn't looking to be interviewed. Yet, he accommodated them with grace and aplomb, and despite the semi-inanity of the questions, gave thoughtful and honest answers. He was a gentleman, and he is missed.
I think it was the inanity that made him stay.
yeah, he is looking a bit thin in this clip. Also it'd have been six months since that psycho tried to murder him at Friar Park.
@@piggyroo100 I think he appreciated not having to answer more questions about the Beatles (he was open to doing so if he was in the mood for it)
Only George could be this nice given the fact that he was not up to an interview, even more been as ill as he was. We miss you Georgie!
George once said that the Beatles gave their (his) nervous system. Once he realizes this short interview has nothing to do with THE BEATLES or his illness he warms up real fast.. I LOVE IT!
George was very ill in that last interview in Montreal but he was gracious and kind answering silly questions a very special man wish I could have known him in this life.
If the questions were that silly he wouldn't have bothered replying to her. She was polite, and he respected that.
"I drive a wheelchair", I had to laugh. Classic George humour. God bless him now. :-)
How adorable he is here
Sure, a beatle with creative soul!
Yes, give her credit: she handled it well too. She had enough sense not to ask the same, tiresome questions that were sure to bore and annoy him. Although no one knew it at the time, this interview would be George's last ever.
I miss him so much
I knew a musician that met George on a plane either going to or coming from Great Britian probably about this time, around 2000. My friend told me..... Although George was being bothered by endless people who wanted autographs or what ever.....he was very kind and gracious about the whole thing
He had his guard up with the first answer he gave but he genuinely gave in. Kudos to the reporter for not asking “are the Beatles getting back together?” , I’m not a Beatle and i would’ve asked her to shut her trap. Wished i could’ve met him and thank him for the music, that killer solo on “All my loving” and for being a major influence on massive charitable gigs. Guess it’s better late than never, thank you George for your contribution to music and to the world. In 8 short years you managed to bring the kind of joy that’ll last forever. You were more than just a Beatle, you were a kind and humble human being. Thank you George, wherever you are.
Yes, she was very intelligent as to not ask about Paul....or next album stuff....
Amen to that. RIP George.
You can see he switched his attitude in a thoughtful moment. Changed her world in the process. She then brought her joy back into those she was to meet. George knew this law of being human & humane. He was a blessing on this world, imperfectly so.
In the beginning he said "No, no..." but then he talked very gently with that girl... a true gentleman.
he was also weak and dying at the same time
@@Mr.Derogatory316 that's true! He was very sick, sad , bored with his terrible cancer problem, pains, surgeries, heavy treatments at the hospitals and he knew by the doctors that he would die the sooner!
"Now I only drive a wheelchair." Hilarious.
Probably was George's last interview....he was so ill but so very polite to this young woman.....what a gentleman he was.....thank you George for all the wonderful music you made...Rest In Peace sweet man :(
What a sweetheart he was.
he's such a nice person
George had the innate ability to figure out peoples motives very quickly. Very pleasant!
I think he liked the lady, she seemed sweet and didn't mention the "B" word! ;)
I agree, she is super cute and George loved women
Awe you could tell he didn't want to be interviewed in the beginning but he did anyway, was kind, and I'm glad the woman was gentle with the questions. Very gracious man, I'm glad he seemed happy towards the end of his life.
george clearly did not want to do any interviews that day but he was such a gentleman he did it anyway
George was lovely. What a nice smile when he asks, "Is he with you?".
George was a true English gentleman. He knew we are really spirits just having a temporary human experience. We all come from the same source, the same essence. All we are really...is energy. Energy can't be destroyed, only transformed..so George had absolute faith that there was another chapter beyond the veil of physical death. If this universe was created, there had to be a designer...god, Jesus & the holy spirit truly does exist. 😊💝💗💓👍👍
Amen ☮➕
wow ....I really wish George would come back....
I love GH in this quick interview, he is so gracious and I love the interviewer she is so cute.
Yes, that she was cute was part of it.....Had it been this bully guy....you know the rest...
George Harrison is the first musician that I have LOVED. I know it seems ridiculous, because I never knew him personally, but I still seem to love him as though I did know him. But his warmth and kindness always seems to move me - emotionally. You can also feel it through his music. True beauty.
I love how he’s dressed in just a plain poncho and bucket hat🥺very cute and helps keeps the attention away a little bit
I cant believe that there is a Beatle in the room and most people dont even look at him !
i agree! screw the formula one racing, theres a BEATLE Here!!
I think George liked the idea that no one was crowding or falling all over. He once said that he wanted to be successful as a musician, not famous.
Because all are Homer Simpson
Just like his best friend Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra)
that's because those are private events high class sort of stuff with many celebrities so nobody cares....and even there I'm sure he got noticed quite a bit
George is my favorite Beatle. Such a sincere and humble guy. I wish he was still alive...
Oh George, you were just too gentle for this world... :)
She had him right there and didn’t ask the important questions like when will the Beatles get back together, what’s your favorite Beatles song, and can you sing for us?
Miss him so much. Such a gentle, gracious soul
Awesome and rare footage of one of the greatest artist of the 20th century not to long before he passed away. R.I.P. George!
What a Beautiful Spirit!!!!!
Lovely George.
I wish I could have met him...
George was sick here but still had that great sense of humor.
I always feel like George understood what life is, better than anyone else. I would love to have met him
Top man. Loved George's sense of humour..... She was respectful and polite - he liked that.
the world misses George Harrison. the inner light.
This was George's last on camera interview with public. He did some video at home to promote the remastering of All Things Must Pass but this was the last one with an outside company. He had been brutally stabbed only 6 months before and his cancer would return in 2001
Hey fellas,
You have to keep in mind that it was an unprepared interview made in the spur of the moment. The lady had to come with a few questions in a flash. Of course, she seems to be unexperienced. But she was not at the event to meet Mr. Harrison. He just happened to be there.
Her charming lack of guile (and interesting questions) brought his guard down
He makes me smile. What a kind man. He’s trying to be incognito, but was gracious. Oh My Heart! 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽
It’s quite simple actually:
We all love George.
It brings tears in my eyes realizing that in this interview he was already suffering from cancer, and just after over a year he succumbed to death...
Sweet George we miss you and love you so much ❤️
Rest in peace....
If there was ever a reluctant rock star it was George Harrison. ...
oh... i love him!!!!! he's so nice!!
Fab post - could see George's brain deciding whether to ignore or come back - his civility got the better of him here - I think because it was a great first question, with no mention of Beatles! Miss him, like a favourite uncle.
He was always soooo charming. Had a great sense of humor and humanity. So George!
My beautiful angel i miss him 🥺😭💗💗
A charming gentleman,
We all know it, but what a lovely fella. He was soooo the best.
Very charming George
Such a kind and humble bloke.
We miss you George😢 We love you. Rock them in heaven🎸 Peace and Love✌💗
He also really did listen to that music.
The charm of the man!
It’s so wholesome 😭
Nice interview and think he appreciated that she never referred to the Beatles and that’s why he probably gave her more time that he would have and probably liked her questions
Happy 80th birthday today, My Sweet George.
yeah, george is such a gentleman that he gave in to the quick interview even though it was so obvious he did not want to do it.
We all miss you, George...
This is a true gem of a clip.... he was such a decent bloke, she's lovely also... uplifting stuff...
Quite down to earth and i get the impression he was very introverted, probably good to talk with kind of thing :)
I know this is ganna sound really weird, but I actually had a dream about him once when he was the age his is in this vid and once when he was younger about in his Beatle years. After his death I was really heart broken, but those dreams actually gave me a little closure, because I knew then that he was alright and in a better place. I still miss him greatly though.
I wish I cold have had the pleasure and privilage of knowin him personally.
He will always be in our hearts. We love you George
what a gentleman
Beautiful spirit in the face of potentially banal questions. Handled with natural charm, wit and grace.
Love George ❤️
George must of been in a good mood he took interview well bless George
Very elegant man, dealing with cancer and yet so happy and calming
George Harrison would be great to have met. Something in the way he wrote and sang songs.
He really didn't want to speak at all, but he was very sweet about it! :-)
What a nice person! So sweet and humble! Miss him but can still feel his loving spirit!❤️
I like the croissants....those were some of his last words heard on public....
All my life as a George Harrison fan....It is so Zen-like....It does not have to be "serious" words....just , " I like the croissants"
love you george, forever in my heart !!!!
That was awesome! I knew he'd love our croissants! I like his hat.
Thanks for posting this one! Quite a gentleman.
Class with a six foot Capital C. Bless.
He was one of The Beatles. He was a superb musician. He had a good woman, a big intelligence, a big house, a pretty spirit, and he was loved by all the people.God bless you.
A class act
God bless you George. We all really miss you
Dear Daniel, It's such a joy to see this clip! Thank you so much for posting it. I love George and his music.Merci!! Isa
I’m a huge Beatles and F1 fan so George being a fan of F1 is amazing! 😊
Still miss George, even after all these years. What a treasure he was.
Well done George
Thank you for posting. It must be one of George Harrison's last television appearances. Even though the questions are rushed, I am pleased that the interviewer managed to pick some questions that were not the usual Beatles-break-up type questions, and as a result she managed to engage his attention. Very nice.
I'm sure in his head he was singing don't bother me!
rest in peace George!
We will miss him endlessly. The good news is now he's happy and peaceful with his God across the universe!
At first, he's annoyed and gives that answer about those singers, because they're so obscure and he knows the reporter won't know them. Then he warms up, and is friendly and polite.
Oh I think he was serious about Hoagie Carmichael! He said many times how much he liked and listened to Hoagie Carmichael.
that was cool...George was cool
Such a sweet soul; against all of his principals, while very-likely not feeling physically at-all well , the gentle genius still paused & spent several from his great life's remaining minutes to accommodate the intruding interviewers. Bless him he was not well here but mostly was not over the traumatic home invasion & attack from just a year or less earlier.
I truly doubt that the "barnacle bill" response to the ,"..what are you listening to.." question was a fabrication; he probably really was listening to Hogie Carmichael whilst being driven to this engagement.
Thanks for the Pepperoni. There's never gonna be another Scouser like Georgie again.
