"We never really defeat our demons, do we? We just keep fighting them over and over. They may not get weaker, but we do get stronger." My favorite quote from this whole game.
Krieg has been my absolute favorite borderlands character, aside from handsome Jack no other character can manage to be so funny and also so real at the same time, he's such a well written character
I think that's the whole point of the DLC, accepting that she is gone but fighting tooth and nail to keep her with him and stopping himself from tearing himself apart even more. The sane and psycho sides both agree on just how important she was and still is to them. She is the bridge, the link between the two. Krieg fights tooth and nail against the pain, the rage and despair to keep her memory alive.
Sane Krieg is probably one of the best written media characters ever imo. As someone who suffers from severe depression for a decade now...every line in the end of the story made me sob cuz they hit me right in the heart
As a kreig main in borderlands 2, seeing maya die made my heart break for kreig, and then this cutscene came on at the end of his DLC, and I couldn't help but tear up a little.
Whoever voiced the intelligent and sane Krieg deserves an award. Those lines are more therapeutic than I could have found in the past. Thank you, Krieg. You indeed are one hell of a psycho🫡😁
While this was heartwarming. I am still very upset at how underused Krieg was in the main story. I so desperately wanted him to show up made as hell and looking to put fear of God into Troy.
There's an unfortunately unused and unfinished cutscene for Maya's funeral, and in the storyboard Krieg can be seen watching from a distance. The fact that they had an altogether great scene set up, and had all the dialogue recorded, and had moments like Zer0 silently mourning Maya, a close friend of his at her monument and never finished it is criminal.
@vahlok1426 even that would have been nice, but no. We got... whatever that's brat name was who received zero consequences for her actions and was GIVEN COMMANDO OF THE CRIMSON RAIDERS!?
The end of his DLC always makes me shed a tear. Desperately wants some sort of normalcy, he just clings onto what keeps him anchored even if they are already gone from his world. and thats probably some of the most relatable shit in a video game ever
True, but both literally, and metaphorically Maya will live on as a part of him. I wasn't expecting a Krieg centric DLC to be so emotional. Truly, the DLC is one of the only reasons to play BL3, it is awesome.
Broken soul, tormented by the death of one he loved, regains his humanity and finds harmony with both his personalities. He deserves to make a return for future games as a playable character.
I haven’t played BL3 or the pre-sequel yet, but I want to see another playable psycho character, except this one is actually able to mentally operate on their own. Like, maybe a psycho who has something happen to their brain so they are both crazy and sane at the same time, rather than both sides fighting over who gets to drive in the front seat. They would be able to speak coherently and would have morals and goals that they want to achieve by being a vault hunter or hero or whatever, but they’re still a psycho and have moments of psychotic, sadistic bloodlust. They just focus that bloodlust on killing bad guys.

3 is fun but the main story is meh, ava was annoying. The dlc for krieg showed alot of who he is. The main characters could understand krieg overtime they could decipher what his phrases meant like meat bicycle being body and poop train being the gear grind etc
