I played this game like crazy as a kid. This day there’s still nothing like it’s traditional ninja combat. The up coming assassins creed won’t fill the void. They should really remaster this!

Sekiro was supposed to be the next entry until they scrapped that idea, kinda glad they did bc of all the dark souls elements. But Yeah Tenchu needs a nexgen version ASAP

You never forget your first time playing tenchu it's just feels right.
A demo disc when I was like 12. I'll always remember that experience.
I was really young but somehow remember Tenchu on the PSone.
Wrath of Heaven really was the perfect sequel. I started playing Sekiro recently, after finishing Elden Ring, and was amused by how many people were saying “Bad idea. You’re going to have to have a bad time. It’s different”. It’s Tenchu. I fell right into rhythm because it felt like I came home. And then I read Tenchu was a huge influence on the Sekiro team, and it all made sense.
Sekiro was originally going to be a new Tenchu title. But they decided to make a new game instead, taking inspiration from it. I hope now it's time for a new Tenchu focused entirely on infiltration !
Well, they are both From Software games! It would be great to play Tenchu again. It's one of the games I remember fondly growing up.
I fell in love with tenchu 3 ayame, she has the best design here imo. The black kunoichi outfit never gets old. Elegant, protective, agile and sexy. Not to mention the baby face of ayame, I miss this model.

Agreed. I loved her design in the original game and was super-bummed by the change in style for Tenchu 2. They got Ayame back on track in 3 and even improved the original look.
Honestly, EVERYTHING about Tenchu 2 was a letdown...they got rid of almost all the stuff that made the first game so good. Spooky night missions? Sorry, now they're set in the daytime. Grappling hook that attaches to anything like Spider-Man's webs? Nope, now you can aim at ledges only. Beautiful, atmospheric music? Completely gone, now you just get birds chirping. Awesome, grungy ninja outfits? Forget that, pastel mini-kimonos all the way. It was such a relief when I played the demo for T3 (Ronin Village level) and discovered that everything I loved about Tenchu was not only restored, but improved.
My favorite is her Tenchu 4 look, outfit on point and the graphics make her beauty shine even more! But in the end she's stunning in every game
@@ZZZGGGLLLAAAHHH Yeah, to this day I didn't get why they got rid of the music on missions, since any other entry had awesome tracks. The game did have the best story in the series in my opinion, but what stops stops me from replaying it (even though I want to) beside the music issue is that you don't get special items for getting grandmaster, which seemingly has the toughest requirements in the series. I also kinda hate that the supernatural element of the story was removed, though I think that fatal shadows and shadow assassins suffered from that way more.
Oh, and Ayame is definitely my favorite character in the series. Fell in love with her ever since 1, and her story also seemed sad AF.
Totally agree! Tenchu 3 Ayame was the sexiest design of her she looks so badass yet so stunning at the same time, i fell inlove with a fictional character when i was junior high

When I see Ayame mission heading to cemetery and can't kill the undead, now I know why my elder sister sibling hate that mission. Feels like when you're picked Ayame, like you're always meet with difficult enemies 😅 even clue for additional character, Tesshu.

My god.... I remeber this like yesterday my whole childhood based on tenchu
Absolutely love this franchise... Wish it still thrived. Gave up waiting, so I am currently working to try and make my own. Will not be tenchu and will have its own aesthetic to some degree, but gameplay wise and vibe I hope to keep fairly similar if possible. Particularly like the control scheme direction Tenchu Z has with the sheathing of weapon or not. Still very early though, so it will likely be a good amount of time, but I will get it out there eventually.
Hopefully it will be something everyone into tenchu will like.
Probably dumb to post so early, but just wanted to let anyone interested know that their is hope of at least something similar coming. Will probably start a new channel to match the game company I will eventually need to make to get onto steam and get everyone wish listed and informed when I get to that point.

This was such a blast of nostalgia! I loved all the Tenchu games so much. Ayame was my favourite character because her stealth kills were always so stylish; especially the one at 3:47, I always went for that when I could.

I remembered EXACTLY how I wasted almost an hour per stage.
But you, sir, maintaining stealth yet so fast to clear a stage, I mean the 1st and 2nd stage u manage to finished them both in just 10 minutes is so awesome....

There's so much I love about Tenchu, but the soundtrack has always been in my Top Three.

Not only do I love the graphical enhancement, but I enjoy watching you play the game. 💯
It seems so many RUclipsrs will upload footage of graphically-enhanced classics, but their play style will be so robotic, dry, and boring that it defeats the purpose of the video in the first place-which is to glorify a forgotten gem. 💯
Case in point:
There's a RUclipsr with the handle *D'Flayer* who uploaded " _Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (Ayame) HD ReShade FULL GAME - Playthrough Gameplay_ " and my god is it painful to watch. He does the same thing over and over again: baits the NPC with a dumpling item and then neutralizes them using the same kill animation. It's monotonous as hell. I hate to sound like some unappreciative nitpicker, but videos like that do a disservice to the legacy of these games. I just want the new generation of gamer to see what we saw in them. So thanks for at least trying to be creative with the gameplay instead of just uploading another "graphical enhancement"-video. It shows you understand why Tenchu is considered such a classic in the first place. 🤷🏿♂️💯

Ahhhh YES! The ancient ninjitsu art of "Kyūsoku ni tībaggu suru", or "Rapid Teabagging" in english. More accurately in this case, it would technically be "Supīdina kuramusuramu", or "Speedy Clam Slam", since the technique is being performed by a woman.
So nice to see REAL ninjitsu arts being properly represented in media, instead of all this "Shadow clone jutsu" this, or "Razengan " that nonsense.

Tbh this is my first time I saw someone playing tenchu other than my sister and my brother. Just when I thought I'm very good at it with my personal speedrun record, heck, now I know I'm just nobody 😂 and dude, in my 28 years of life, I never tea bagged anybody and anyone in Tenchu. Sorta my ninja way to respect the dead in game. But now I see it it's actually hilarious 🤣
