You can cut a short piece of the thin white pvc pipe ( the long way) and place it behind the hoof and ankle and wrap it with tape.usually takes just a few days for them not walking on their ankles for them to strengthen up.
I think you’re on the right track. Easier than raising bottle calves, and more profitable. Heifer calves may be a valuable commodity in today’s cattle market!
You’re right. Definitely easier than bottle calves! Hopefully in the near future I’ll be able to upgrade to some younger nicer cows that I keep long term.
Absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage documentary adventure countryside and a very interesting video to watch .. thanks again ..
Try giving that new calf the twin a magnesium shot that is generally what happens when the ankles bend over like that I've had that happen in the past and the magnesium works great
Might be…? It hasn’t ever been a recurring problem but we might have 1 out of 400 or so that has the problem. I used to get a few Holstein bottle calves like that and a splint always corrected it pretty quick.

Hello hope they do good for you. Enjoyed your video. Have a good day.
Business aside, I like the thought of the older, rough looking cows, spending their last months on your beautiful pasture being well cared for.
I kind of like the thought of it as well. Not that it’s a charity, but I like giving them a good happy final year before they go.

Can you give that calf a shot of BoSe?
Heifers are usually shorter gestation.
Awesome video love the title its funny and fitting..
Very cool
Love the title 😂👍

Might have to give that a try! That would sure be easier than splints that I’ve used in the past.
It will be interesting to see how those old cull cows fare. Do you risk bringing in a new disease though?
That one with the white on her face that was by the cow with the twins had a really nice udder. Is that a Holstein cross.
Yes, she is a Holstein gelbvieh cross. Raises a heck of a calf every year. That extra milk sure makes em grow!
Love the title 😂
so wonderful beautiful video my best friend Isaac is love it see so nice
Those old girls will definitely turn a profit.
In sheep that frequently is sign of selenium and or vitamin e deficiency don't have any idea if it's the same in cattle

My wife made a splint for the lambs and they did recover
Will u be buying any bottle calfs this year?
I’ve got something in the works…not sure that will be bottle calves though.
More good investment s in today's markets
Hope so!
Nice calves, been my experience that bull calves gestated longer then heifer calves. So your second half should be more bulls then heifers.
I’ve heard that but we’ve never been this heifer heavy early on! Hopefully you’re right and we get some more bulls here soon.
How many Holstein crosses you got left?
People will be looking for replacement hiefers
audio very low.....?
Seemed fine on my end, but I’ll look into it! I was hoping my new mic fixed all the problems.
Can I buy some heifer calf’s from u
