Always nice to see family blended into the videos. Neat to see items from fellow U Tubers worn on both farms. George has a lot of good common-sense cow smarts. I learned a lot about handling cattle from a stock-hauler we used to hire. He took his time and kept things low-key...made the job a lot easier. Appreciated it when we had gates set up and if possible animals to be sold, sorted out.
It was awesome to finally see ur mom in a video so hopefully we will see her more in upcoming episodes. Trinity dairy are AWESOME folks with an awesome family
Thanks for sharing the video. I do really enjoy them. Really enjoy the information on your cattle program. Good seeing and hearing from your Mom on the video. Yes the logo for Trinity is nice. Y'all take care.
I'm WI transplant from over near you now down in Indiana and I heard the kids over at Trinity Dairy cheering from here! 😂 Another great video and really awesome to see your mom join on camera!
My AVG sized cows ( Hol) were always my most trouble free cows, The taller, bigger cows would get stuck in the free stalls at times and would be kind of cramped in the milking parlor stalls, some i had to leave the back gate open aka surge side open parlor. GREAT GREAT VIDEO. Kevin.
If you guys just heard a bunch of shouting in Wisconsin, it was just the kids and the loudest "whoa, they're wearing our shirt" ever. It was almost as loud as when they cheered opening the box of your hats!
@@macbaker72In other videos they have said that they buy a registered Holstein bull. They use Artificial Insemination to incorporate other breeds into their herd, Brown Swiss, Jersey, Milking Short Horn for example. Registered Bulls are expensive too and probably doesn't make sense for them to buy several different breeds of bulls to have on their farm and then there would be concerns of housing and safety with multiple bulls, I think AI is a good option for their farm. Thankful for another great video from Gierok Farms.
Another awesome video family. I know how busy dairy farms get. I wonder how you juggle all the editing that goes into your channel and stay on top of chores too.
I always enjoy your videos, but seldom coment. It was interesting to have the Boss ( Mom ) on the video . I am sure she plays a very important place in your opperation. I also enjoyed Poppa's lesson on breed selection and selection for temperment. I t shows a lot of years of wisdom. You have a GREAT farming opperation.
I watch Trinity dairy and your channel especially since I was born and raised on a Wisconsin dairy (retired to Southern Mississippi now). The channel I miss the most that I've only seen an occasional video from is the Fink family, Organ Echos farm, from over by Ft. Atkinson. Jersey herd, wonderful Christian family, still making it together on a small "land poor" dairy farm. Lydia has taken the lead in the last video I saw but I'm wondering what happened to Hank that used to be the main you tuber. The old man had a band saw mill similar to yours and had a great sense of humor. I hope they see this post and are encouraged by it. I'd love to see them again.❤
i do like the smaller milking cows too here in UK the Shorthorn has made a big come back , i was at market the other day looking to buy some yearling steers for beef and the amount of Shorthorn that were there being sold was impressive , i would have some at the right price , but really like the British Blue with double muscle and Aberdeen Angus of Hereford
Back in the 90s I was attending MSU dairy program and often had time to tag along with the dairy judging team. We were at a 60 cow tie stall barn where they milked registered Holsteins. I remember talking to the own and he said about 40% of the farm income was from breeding stock sales and it was the only reason they were able to keep milking.
Back in the day, we would have as many as 20 hiefers to sell for replacements to others, some went several hundred miles away. My Dad watched the pedigrees and bred accordingly to avoid inbreeding. He was a stickler for outcrossing.
@@MorganOtt-ne1qj yeah it's neat to think that some of your cows are building another herd somewhere far away. We sold some heifers that ended up in Japan. That was from the registered dairy I worked on before going to State.
My family had sent cattle to Hungary and Cuba, before they were Communist. On a better note, my sister had a bull go to Select Sires in the '70's. He did pretty good. 7H401 Mars.
@@MorganOtt-ne1qj used a lot of Select bulls one of our Mark daughters was in the 1996 calendar. We had a few cows make pictures used to promote some bulls. Its pretty cool to be a small part of that history.
The fact that you have females to sell speaks well of your care you apply to your animals. My feeling on dairy or beef is it the longer there there The More cows they produce the more money they tend to generate. You don't get that though if you don't take good care of them
Saw the tag line about selling. I was afraid you all might be selling out. When I was kid there was a dairy ever 1/4 to half mile. Now there’s 1 for every 20 there was. You know they told us to get big and I don’t think we’re any better off. Just more debt.
Was that heifer Montebellairde X, or just has a lot of "Chief" in her pedigree that marked her like that, and gave her the reluctance to load?🤣 My Dad wasn't a fan of "Chief", but used his son's.
Question: Why are so many dairy buildings so dark? They make an acrylic panel with the same configuration as the steel roofing and siding so why not get more light into the buildings? Would it not cut down on ring worm?
Percentage wise how many dairy farms remain in Wisconsin compared to say 20 years ago?.....30%?..40?. Here in Pa it was a state that was one the 4th largest dairy state is now the 8th and falling fast. And here in Pa and your grade A if 75-80% of your milk is going into Class 1 you need to find something else to do for a living. .
You guys do these bailing all the time the small bills that’s a lot of work I know the round bales I watch them takeoff running on the hills. Why don’t you guys try to get them to let you try out a one of those great big Baylor is the ones that make the big bales that are white 3 x 4 x 6. They would stack better in your barn and the bills won’t roll down the hill
Milked cows for 45 years. So why would you spend time and energy raising heifers to sell ???? Raise only what you need and put all your work to the dairy ( milking ) profits ??? Thats always where the money was for me ! As I always said..... calving in the spring time...green pasture ( rotational grazing ). Money......from the tank to the bank. I always had all the bills taken care of by July 1st. The remaining of the year......was gravy ! So... not the same here in your operation ?
Obvious........this is not a family farm !!!!! (((( Its a families farm)))) ! Shouldnt yous guy be considering doing your own farming ?? Yous guys are old enough !

Your father is so straightforward. Love that!
Good video, It's how it used to be on a small dairy farm. Also nice to see your mother again.
Good stuff every time Gieroks. Look at George supporting Trinity Dairy. Smaller time dairies supporting one another, gotta love that!
Great to see both your parents. Thanks for the video. All the best 🇬🇧.
Hats off to your mom Nice seeing her trinity dairy They have a great page too
When you guys delivered that sculpture to Trinity is when I started following them They are a great family.
Excellent video. Thank you for explaining what you do with your heifers
Nice hoodie George . I always check out Alan when he puts a video out . What a fantastic view .Great video fellas .

Hello very good. Cows look great. Have a great day.
I like the Trinity Dairy sweatshirt I watch there channel too
Glad to see your Dad wearing his Trinity Dairy Sweatshirt.
Rule number one in farming!! If what your doing is making you money, keep doing it!! Thanks 😊.
Great video Gierok Farms
It's fun listening to George talk about his knowledge and wisdom on anything. He knows a thing or two because he's done a thing or two.
Or 5 or 6!!
He's a cowman. Born that way. Not something you can teach if you don't have it in you.
Didn't expect to see Aaron disappear and then reappear in the beginning of the video -- cool affects. Enjoyed hearing about herd management practices.
I think this was the first time I've seen mom in a video. She should come hang out more. Haven't sen Darby at the barn lately either.
Notice the sweater also another great video you guys have a great set up for moving cows that makes everything go smooth love your beautiful farm 😊

That was nice. God is good and glorious ✝️
I heard them in Ohio!😂
Why don’t you AI ? Buying cheap bulls

Great video as usual. Way to rock the Trinity Dairy gear.

Hello from Ireland,,,
Thanks
What, then "quitting milking, moment " 😲 Thank you. (N.G Ind)
Well she was a little stubborn, thought she would load a little easier 😢😂. Thanks to everyone!!

You getting the sign finished for Trinity Dairy
How much cows do you guys milk and how much land do u farm?
Our hiefer fresh at 21 months so smaller ones at 24 months but I look at that as free milk
So your leaning away from Holstein and going more shorthorn?
I enjoyed watching that. Nicely done.
It’s never that easy cutting. That was a surprise.
This must be In southern wis or western wis see the rolling hills in the back
