      In most editing software the pixels are deleted and replaced with different ones, unswirling would have just made a bigger mess of pixels, but luckily they managed to find the very same software the guy used and were able to reverse the swirl and find his face

A dude can commit 100 crimes and get punished for one as long as he has money to travel. Authorities should be able to identify a fkn pattern that indicates that he shouldn't be let out with the same sentence as a one time offender. They literally had picture evidence of the REPEATED crimes. Giving him the same sentence as a 1 time offender is beyond fucked. Especially when u consider him violating his conditions DOING IT AGAIN and getting 14 fkn months.ive seen weed charges 10x as long.

They already deal with an enormous amount of crime in their own borders so hunting down people who leave the country to commit crimes in poorer ones doesn't provide much benefit for the cost/labor needed to hunt that one person down.

    There's a good documentary on this case by BBC I think. Sad reality is it's a lot more common than one infamous case. It's wild how there isn't more coverage of the sort of thing. I guess because it's illegal to see the images so nobody can really look into it unless they are careful.

    xQc is correct at 5:55 You could do that for sure. Say for example you had a program that scrambles or swirls images based off certain parameters, like a swirl effect on PS but it swirls on each axis starting at different points. Even if someone had the exact program, trying to reverse it would be 1 in a billion if you didn't have the key or starting axes. People in chat saying ''It was 2004'' think pre iPhone were the dark ages and things like PS and AAE didn't exist. Dude goofed and used a preset effect.
    It's alot more complicated but this is just a very simplified explanation.

      That's a clear flaw within the justice system. "The crime wasn't committed on our soil" is the most braindead thing I've ever heard. What this basically means is if you commit 100s of crimes in different countries you'd be punished for the grand total of 1 crime. There's no reason why the justice system can't fix that.

    It's always the people who know the less about how these things work that figure this out while watching it lol. It's understandable why they didn't check to reverse it earlier. In 99.9% of cases, it's rearranged and makes it impossible to with them doing other things to it. Nobody would've figured it out or noticed that until later in the investigation.
