It's funny (more tragic than funny) because even their best and brightest waste all of their time, resources and political capital on defending the absolute worst of their people. I actually remember the smoky mountain fire. I don’t live there, but I live in a nearby town. The smoke here was really bad and you could see the smoke for miles.

Dude i was on vacation to pidgeon forge when the fire was started, i didn't know that it was that horrifying. Smoke was covering the roads and the city the entire time we stayed there, most of the places we wanted to visit were closed including ofc the national park area we came for. I never thought i would be that close to a terrible disaster like that.

The problem is that you can't expect to be spared by doing what they say, obv from a viewer perspective we can speculate on what she could have done, however if you find yourself in a situation of "do this and I won't kill you" you're best bet is to assume they're going to kill you anyways and try and do anything possible to escape.

Scariest one I saw was from Russia I think. A normal, winding road through the woods and in broad daylight. Some guys step out from their parked car and try to stop the dash cam car, pretending to be in trouble. Car carries on and avoids them because they know what the risk of it was.
