- My Harbor Freight Cement Mixer arrived yesterday and I got it all put together. I ran one batch with no problems and thought I would video the second batch. I am very happy and now have 7.5 shot all ready to load.
Man that looks like factory shot there buddy! Good job !
Looks like you are all set. I still want to get a cement mixer, However, funding-wise it isn't high on the company priority list. My thumblers Tumbler seems to do a pretty good job for right now, the Main thing is to polish off the coating of oxidation left over from the drying process. I would engineer and small fin for the inside that will lift the shot and allow it to have more freefall, that may cut down your tumbling time. I have also seen where people do this outside so that the oxidized lead dust is carried away with the wind. that stuff is hazardous to breathe and gets all over everything in an enclosed area. So, anyway, Good video and no more expensive buying of shot. I have made 280 pounds of the stuff so far. Bought brand new would be over $500. Dave.
That is perfect! You are nuts!
That's outstanding! Now you'll have to figure out how to wet tumble you brass in the cement mixer 😁
Barn Dweller is going to need another barn soon!!!
I have another one up north at our cabin but we built it 15 years ago so we would have a place of our stuff when we retired. We are moving up there in 4 years and now I have two barns full of stuff. The one upnorth is smaller. Hmmmm
I put the baffles in mine and it worked better.
Very good job, but what material did you put in the beginning? Is it milled charcoal? Um what, thank you
Need some grease on those gears.
You can do HighTec coating in bulk now with that mixer.
I have never use the HighTec coatings I watched a video showing how and it looked a lot more complicated than simply powder coating. If its not broke dont fix it haha.
How to communicate with you and is there a delivery to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Now make that into split shot for fly fishing.
Holy lord!
With shot at $48 to $50 per bag this makes sense, maybe? I would like to know how much the shot maker, tumbler and lead cost. Labor cost varies according to region. Only then can you figure out the fixed and variable cost of making your own shot.
Where are you getting it that cheap right now? I'm watching these videos because I've only seen it for around $80 and up lately. Even reclaimed is up there.
Hi
Dear, please tell me
Is this blender very good and ideal
I have a fracture that is not completely round and there are some small holes
Is this a perfect blender to address this problem in breakage and make it perfectly rounded
I want to buy it but may not give an excellent result and lose money
Please inform me through your experience
Wait your reply
Are you using pure lead or is there a certain bridal hardness to shot
No not pure lead, I make ingots for the shot maker out of 1 part pure lead and one part lynotype. I purchased a pallet of lynotype a few years ago (than God) I put in a couple wheel weight ingots per pot of ingots I am making for the shot maker I find the wheel weights help with fill out. I am buying my wheel weights on ebay so they are kind of expensive for me.
Hi thank you for posting your video, your shot looks great. Quick question do you thing the cement mixer was worth buying? did it make your shot rounder. I ask because I tumble my shot in a container on my lathe and am thinking of buying a cheap cement mixer like you have. Thanks in advance.
I think its almost perfect round now to begin with, I use the mixer primary for coating it. I think the mixer is a good thing to have but many people coat it by just putting in small amounts in jars and mixing it by hand. I am just to lazy to do that.
I also want to try the mixer as a brass cleaner next summer.

What is the purpose of the grafite?
To my understanding it stops the lead shot from getting stuck in the press and helps it seperate evenly when shot. I am not sure that is correct but every piece of info I have seen about it had that as the last step so I do it. Its cheap so not a expence really. I think the time in the cement mixer helps with making sure the shot is smooth.
450 more pounds to go! Chop Chop
Wish there was a way to make that into split shot for fly fishing.
Hi there, I need help how to manufacture Lead Shots size 6mm.
When you buy one of these units you get your choice of shot size drippers (the things that determine the size of shot you will get) I think everything else would be the same as far as how to do it. I did a few videos on this please watch them all. I finally got it all working just fine with no sifting at all later. Its do much fu to do now that I just gave away a 16 gauge press I had that I did not need anymore and I gave the guy a jug of shot to get him started.
@@barndweller4573 Thank you...
Have you patterned any of your shot? Would like to see the results.
Nothing fancy but I did get some cardboart that comes on our pallets of feed and put them out and shot two of them from the same distance. One with some Walmart ammo and some with mine and mine were a little smaller of a pattern but it could be just that mine were just better loads. I was just interested in it working as well as the cheap walmart stuff. All we do with it is to shoot clays for fun. It was not a great test of any sort and I did not even think to film it. We have found we can miss as good with mine as we do with factory!
So do you sell lead shot?
care for any company any time? maybe train and loan out your setup? my lord is shot getting expensive.
