I bought it as a single in '78 having heard it on the radio. It has a special place in my heart. I loved this version of it which is respectful without being reverential. I think Dylan would appreciate it. He knows that just because a song is played one way doesn't mean it can't be played another way. His own career as a performance artist shows that!
I agree that this is a fantastic cover, I loved it, but I don’t get you suggesting that it is a different version to the original. It is exactly the same as in Budokan, which is only slightly different to the studio version. But considering this is Dylan we’re talking about, this is as reverential as they come.

Great performance; it shows the pain that Dylan had about his relation with women at that time and it is outstanding how he put it in words
