I remember I did this when I was ten and I was only a hunchy thingy. The person who played the Cat in the Hat had a nose bleed and went off stage half way through and it was only ametur theatre so we didn't have an understudy. I remember so clearly when it came to the Cat's solo in having a hunch I took over her part. I learnt all the lines in the musical for a reason. From that moment I will never forget this song. Well as they say, the show must go on!
This is the exact recording my theatre group uses for our practice. Everyone in the comments is a who and a hunch, but I'm a jungle citizen and a hunch AND a circus animal and this is my favorite song. We're actually doing a white glove black costume thing as well, it's gonna be amazing!
I can't believe I found this -- I'm the exact same things!! (the only difference is that I'm a human, not an animal, in the circus XD) We're performing in about six weeks! How did yours go? :)
We're doing this with the black lights and gloves as well, but the hunches are out there from practically the very beginning of the song. There are twelve (by accident) so we ended up making the times of the clock. We also did this thing where all the hunches made a large face, and chased Jojo around. When he yelled out "WAIT!" our face would frown, and when Cat would start singing again, it we would make the face do this insanely creepy smile. It was creepy even without the black lights and gloves. I absolutely adored our choreographer and ideas.

You know....my school is putting this show on this year so i have been through a bunch of different videos on youtube....this is the best by far. you guys have done a fantastic job!!!
hahaha i love how in every Seussical ive seen they always use blacklights for the hunch costumes and fosse for the dance style. this is pretty awesome though! in ours the hunches look like strings with googly eyes and they have question marks on their backs. but this is pretty awesome! haha this is my favorite number in the show!
Was in this musical, played a wickersham brother AND the grinch AND yertle the turtle. Director said i had the lowest vocal range and just gave me the lowest parts, lol
