This is incredible. Your channel is a goldmine! All these songs that I've been looking for for years, and here they are. Thank you so much for making all your efforts public and even teaching us how to play. This has made my day and will make many many more days for me. I hope you can tell that I'm excited!
It is so exhilarating that an American who grew into a love of music through the likes of Paul Simon should gain inspiration from you, an Austrian, whose language I can only surmise in context, should become one of my great instructors. With your tabs behind you, you have made music what it was intended to be... a universal, global language...thank you for your illimitable joy, Helmut.
This sounds awesome! One of my favorite songs... Even though I don't speak your language it's helpful how you walk through the different sections. Thank you for the tabs!
Thank you for this tutorial. When I recieved my uke for my birthday I found a lovely recording of Sounds of Silence. My mom had Simon and Garfunkel records when I was growing up. I’m so glad I can follow you to learn this song!
Hey Helmut so cool wie du deine Filme aufbaust. Alles an einen Ort und dann vorsichtig durcherkärt. Riesen freude von dir zu lernen wünsch dir einen schönen Tag
Just discovered your channel, beautiful playing and great arrangements - really inspiring. Are you still active and do you do any arrangements for the baritone ukulele. Going to follow your tutorials as they bring these songs to life. Thank you
Thanks for listening & commenting. Yes I'm still active . I'm making one tutorial every other day. These days for guitar - but soon for ukulele. I'm making arrangements only for sopran/concert ukulele. Bariton ukulele is more a guitar for me ... All the best from Austria ...
First song i've completed from your lessons. I'm going to keep playing more :) you're honestly the best ukulele teacher and you deserve more subs. I was wondering if you would be willing to teach 'take me home country roads' by john denver. Thank you!
Can you please really consider doing a ukulele fingerstyle and guitar lesson for Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale" including the beautiful introduction. Thank you!
Hallo Helmut, vielen Dank für all deine tollen Videos, wirklich sehr hilfreich.
Viel Erfolg!

Hi Helmut thanks for these tabs. Really great. I have just one question how can I finish this song. After playing the tabs three times I feel the need to end the song. So after the last C chord I tried to reach a good end but I failed so if you can help me it would be very cool many thanks again. All the best from France.
... slight strumming the C chord, than pluck the second string without fretting, than - while holding a Dm chord - pluck the second string at first fret, then pluck - at the same time - third string at second fret & fourth string at second fret. Hope this helps!
The slide is on the first string! It starts with the third fret/first string, that comes out from the F chord. The TAB is right. Try it! All the best from Austria.
The "1" means to press this string at the first fret, the vertikal line only means , that - for the F chord for example - the first, second & the fourth string are played at the same time.
Hello Helmut, thank you for all your tutorials! They are very clear and it is very gratifying for one to be able to create the sounds of a liked music so easily. I wonder if you would please be able to create a tutorial for a 1960s song called "So Much in Love" by The Tymes, that was later sang by Art Garfunkel (without Paul Simon) and the band All-4-One, among others. So far, I have been able to figure out the basic melody, but I have no luck trying to add the right chords in the right places to make it nicer. Here is the link for the version sung by Art Garfunkel ruclips.net/video/2EP30WohwHg/видео.html Thank you again for all your wonderful videos - the tutorials are great to learn, and the scenic videos are very poetic. Greetings from France.

Fantastic
Thanks for listening & commenting!
Excellent, as always, Helmut! I do have a question - on the 2nd measure, what is the line crossing the C and E strings between the 0 and 2 ?
... you can ignore this line. It should be a sign, that the "0" & the "2" are played at the same time. Have fun playing this tune ...
You are very very good Mr

Ever a chance, since you are such a fan of Simon and Garfunkel, to see picking patterns for "April, Come She Will"?
Thanks for listening & commenting. But there are some tutorials for this song on RUclips. All the best from Austria!

Helmut Bickel wow great. Thanks for quickly answer. You rock 👍👍 Danke schön.
You're welcome.Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
I asked this on another video as well, what does the caret (^) mean in the tablature? Great stuff, thanks for sharing!
... the sign in the middle of the third bar?? It means a little break. You can ignore this sign, just listen to the music ...
Thanks!
Thanks Helmut. Can you explain the slide? The tab shows it on the first string but you seem to be playing it differently. Am I wrong?
The slide is on the first string! It starts with the third fret/first string, that comes out from the F chord. The TAB is right. Try it! All the best from Austria.
🥰
Thanks for listening ...
@helmut bickel can you please, tell me which electric ukulele do you have?
I'm playing here an ORTEGA RLIZARD-CC. All the best from Austria.
What is the difference between the 1 and the | in the notation? Like in that F section?
The "1" means to press this string at the first fret, the vertikal line only means , that - for the F chord for example - the first, second & the fourth string are played at the same time.
Merci
