Thanks for sharing. I prefer using DrumSynth:Kick, with the model:"Eighty", and "Chromatic" checked. There is far more bass loudness, and it sounds more 808 to me! Also, less CPU use.
I also use a cat hair roller on my MPC X pads in order to keep them clean and fresh! You're the only person I've seen that actually does this other than myself! I also have a hard plastic cover for my MPC X so it stays mint! I've had my X since they first came out and my X still looks brand new! I can't believe how nasty people allow their MPC's to get!
I'll check this as soon as I can. I have a "trap" loop i want to turn into a full beat an these effects will come in handy. Btw,i gave you props on my short,as promised eheh
As usual, excellent video! You nailed it. I’m gonna try to make the 808 this way and see how far I can go. At this moment I’m learning a bit of finger drumming which is quite challenging. Take care!
Thanks !! :) I actually started this channel as a finger drumming channel^^ i think my first 30 videos I made are only finger drumming...I also made 4 tutorial videos!
Yo! That first melody was hard af! Plus you opened up a whole new world to me when you used the plugin for the melody! I had no clue it could hit like that!!! Do you have a video just on different plugins?
3:46 Can you explain why even though you pressed only one note or pad there's currently 3 pads lighting up at the same time on your MPC? I've always wondered why that's happening and have never been able to figure it out or find an answer! It drives me mad not knowing why?
I know, but you probably also know that a certain kind of kick/bass sound of todays trap music was originally made of the 808 kick (of that drum machine).. That's what is called an 808 today.. so people are rarely talking about the 808 drum machine if they're talking about 808s..
@@sentokan I'm with you, this didn't show anything else other than a distorted kick drum sound which is mildly reminiscent of the TR-808 kick drum. The 808 IS a drum machine with 10+ drum sounds, of which this video showed absolutely nothing of the sort.
Happy 808 Day:) Check out the description for more MPC related content:)
Good sound design class, with some mastering tips too. Thanks!
You absolutely killed it with this one!

You should’ve kept the flute melody on the new beat you made - for a hook. That would go crazy 🔥
