@@samm9945 If going off what was originally solicited in the now cancelled omnibus this is what would have been in it: Batman #608-619 and 685, Batman: Gotham Knights #50-55, 60-71 and 73-74, Detective Comics #846-850 and 852, Batman: Streets of Gotham #1-4, 14 and 16-21, plus stories from Batman Villains Secret Files #1 and Wizard #0.
An “Absolute” 😊 It’s my favourite Batman comic arc with how it show cases almost all the Bat family and villains. The Absolute edition is definitely worth it.
Same Just got the 15th last year and didnt expect this, absolutely will not justify another 50$ for 5 freakin pages This story begs for an absolute and we can only hope at 30th after the returns drop off in 25 we'll finally get it
Thanks for the spotlight. I've had this one on my scope for a while now, and I'm anxious to see what the 5 extra pages entail. From what I recall Leob's story was just ok, but Lee's art makes it a worthwhile purchase. I also have the unwrapped edition which is nice. BTW, I do think I liked the Hush animated film's ending better.
I think I'll stick with my 15th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. Might try to upgrade to the Absolute one day, but I'm definitely not downgrading to a standard sized edition, especially for just 5 extra pgs.
Ngl, I fell for the description using the word 'deluxe' and thought it was in deluxe format. And it saying deluxe in the solicit... Was very disappointed to find out it wasn't, though I guess that is on me, as I didn't know it had already existed. Bit weird the anniversary edition isn't deluxe-sized though. Still wish there was an omnibus though. Can't tell if I should bite the bullet and get the deluxe-edition as well, or just be fine with what I've got.
@@WhiskeyFables2 oooo, I forgot it even existed. 👀 I guess that's as close to an omni as we're going to get then. And Jim lee art at that size is always fun😄
2 years ago when i first got into comics my first read was hush then i saw black and white at the store thinking it was the next story i was clearly wrong this is still my favorite bat man story i might get this and give my friend my paper back
DC is real confusing when it comes to the sizing of their books. Marvel is simple, each hardcover is oversized. I'm still holding out for "Superman: Up in the Sky" deluxe edition.
I love this story and the art is off the chart good by Jim Lee, i own the Absolute and it's stunning. If this is out of print in absolute format, it deserves a reprint, i'm sure this is good and the new pages make me curious
Hey Omar, Hush was the first 2 books released in the Eaglemoss DC Graphic Novels Collection and was the first time I read it. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I guess it sent me down the Batman rabbit hole, though I've always liked Batman since childhood. The character represents the biggest section of my DC collected editions. The Eaglemoss series introduced me to other famous Batman-related stories including "The Long Halloween" and "JLA: Tower Of Babel". The animated version of "Hush" is worth watching BTW. I might consider and Absolute of Hush down the track though it does mean some double dipping. Cheers mate
I bought Hush as issues when they originally came out, still have them in pretty mint condition. I then bought the absolute edition and couldn't avoid buying the pencils only version and the inks version. Not really buying another version for a 5 page story...
Cannot work out why this is standard sized!! Been holding off buying it knowing this was coming out and now I’m going to end up buy the 15th anniversary anyway 🙄
Waviness on the pages is not that much about the humidity in storage, but rather about the paper stock quality and the way it absorbs the ink. By definition, it means one thing: cheap.
Guess I'm getting the 15th anniversary edition rather than this one, I love the dust jacket art, but not the cover inside, it looks like a dull collage and adding those pages of an animated movie that doesn't have anything of the original story arc other than the name just draws me back. Your review is awesome nevertheless, keep the good work. I edited the comment, because I got to the final part of the video before I write it and, okay, those five new pages sold this hardcover, I know, I know, it's just... you can't never get enough cool Jim Lee art. It's a shame that the store only ships to the USA.
OPB already have the flash by Mark Waid omnibus, when you’re going to upload your review from the book? 🤔🤔🤔 i need a deep take of that book from you Omar 😁
Doesn't it seen messed up that a standard hc collecting 12 issues has a cover price of $50? Thank you for this video though, cause i actually thought this was oversized.
Keep the absolute I guarantee all they're going to do is release a "new" book with a few more pages every 5 or 10 years at the next major anniversary in any format other than omnibus.
I have 15th deluxe, absolute, unwrapped, and vol 1-2 tpb. This is the story that got me into comics so it’s very special to me which is why I have a lot of copies. But I’m kinda sad this is only standard hc and not deluxe so I’m gonna pass.
I think you made a mistake, because there are the five pages of the Batman origin story in every version I think, I have the 2009 version and it's there
I really don't like it when they edit out the credits like on the Chapter 3 title page. Really emphasizes the dead space left for it in the artwork and makes the placement of the lettering thats left look off. (Same goes for covers that incorporate the comics logo into the artwork in some way and yet are reprinted without it)
I went to pick this up and saw coincidentally that Amazon has a 'Batman: The Hush Saga Omnibus' available for pre-order releasing next year - anyone know what that's about and would it have the fabled 5 extra pages also?
It was , but both Loeb and Lee phoned it in. It's nothing that wasn't already assumed/inferred, and Lee's renditions of Joker and Harley are actually from previous art that was on promo cards
I feel like while Marvel releases way more books, their design is kind of basic. DC releases fewer books but they put way more effort into them and they are way more unique. A lot of the DC books i get i am really impressed when i first see them. With marvel you pretty much know what you are getting before you open the package.
This one was from organic price books. One of Omar's sponsors is cheap graphic novels. CGN is a very good company from where to order these books. They pack them much better than Amazon would, and can often sell the books cheaper than Amazon.
@@paulmcgrew2932 I can't tell if you're being serious or not. The new Tim Drake book? That is the shittiest art I've seen in a very long time. The writing is ridiculously bad as well. I'll be surprised if that book lasts more than a few issues before being canceled.
One thing about this story that seemed dumb is the fact that his cape is used countless times to glide around in the comics. Also, he could shot off another grapple line...contrived story telling
I was so disappointed when I received this book. At $50 price point, it was just a regular sized hardcover. It's a beautiful book, don't get me wrong, but it's not worth that much money... And those 5 extra pages? Would've been fine not reading them
Personally, I consider the Hush run is overrated. I think Lee and Loeb made this story just to tease Jason's return, and all hell break loose. The Jason Todd tragedy, in the other hand, is more interesting. Wether the background or in the story itself. I wonder why they never release Under the Red Hood in hardcover edition.
Absolutely overpriced for an HC that isn't even oversized. The extra 5 pages also aren't very essential. The 15th year anniversary deluxe is much better bang for buck for fans IMHO. I'm not a fan of this story, but I like that DC is still trying to keep it alive until now.
I find Batman: Hush to be overrated. The story falls apart once the Joker issue ends. You know Hush can be only two people and the real "twist" is who masterminded it. But, Hush at the core is a very hollow villain until Paul Dini came around and did a far better story with the character (Heart of Hush). Add to that there are a few villains and a particular Bat-Family member is suspiciously absent in the entire story. It's a great "beginners" story. But not the best Batman story or anything to fully write home about save the art.
I'm sad I had to sell my Absolute: Batman Hush years ago. But a co-worker of mine found this for a great price and got me a copy! This is a great edition to a classic story :)
So the 15 year anniversary deluxe edition is oversized, but the 20th year anniversary deluxe isn’t?

22:42 for details on the five extra pages.
Batman: Hush - the Tuesday edition! Coming next Tuesday!!

And I appreciate you.

The fact DC has milked this story and released it in every format available except omnibus is a real shame.
