Thanks for your help Stephen, it's extremely appreciated from all of us. I didn't pass the SJT for unknown reasons, but I feel I was personally underprepared as I didn't realise SJT is something that can be practiced. I will be applying next time much more prepared.
I spoke to a friend who has been flying for BA for 20 years. He did a dummy applicaton and failed! Don't feel bad if you didn't pass guys, it's very difficult! I learned that I need to be much faster in the maths test... And I teach maths and physics 🙄😂
@@stephenav8 teaching is all about using a calculator these days so I've gotten lazy over the years. The kids I teach are always amazed when I do a quick calculation in my head but I'm thinking, I'm sooooo slow compared to when I was young 😂
40 seconds per question was wild. I guess I need to get quicker. Also sj tests on other websites have a speed mark so even though it said it was untimed they might have also marked you on your speed as well as accuracy
Hi Stephen, really nice work and my sincere thanks. Really appreciated. However noticed that a 1 week time frame for application and completing a series of tests is too short. Made it to the Sjt but on the invitation mail, they didn't mention that all tests must be completed by the 25th September 23:59. They only say to take it asap and find a quiet room. I instantaneously get a rejection mail (completing on 26th 21:38) though being pretty sure that i correctly replied as a good future pilot and having done researchs. After reflection, got rejected because of the "invisible" deadline. They said that application is to be completed by the 25th but not tests etc. Anyway will keep it up. Cheers
So glad I found this channel, thank you for what you’re doing. I’m in the missing information group, I completed the checking test and didn’t get an immediate rejection but got one the next day. Definitely think it was my CV and/or essay that was the problem. I think my CV was good from a transferable skills/competencies perspective but think it might’ve been the structure that let me down, too wordy, not clear enough, etc. I’ve watched your livestream on CVs but anything else you can share on CVs and essays would be much appreciated for future schemes. Best of luck to those that are through to the next round.
Hi Stephen. Just want to say thank you for your informative videos. Its not nice seeing people not being able to make it through but on a positive note i got throught the situational judgement, the maths test, the english, and have sent in my video assesments (not interview, but an assessment). Now waitikg to hear back to see of ive made the next stage. Be happy to help you with any information of my progress
Pretty sure I messed my video assessment up, time will tell, but need to learn from it, practice what I did wrong, and don’t make the same mistakes next time
@@adamlloyd3367completed all assessments on Tuesday, received an email on Friday, you can log in to your BA careers page and see if there is any update there also, but I had reminder emails almost every day about the video assessment
I have been sent the invite for the video interview, but there isn’t much information given such as the deadline etc. I don’t want to click the link and start it! Once you click the link do you have to record the videos straight away?
Hi Stephen, thank you for the video. I applied in the weekend but still haven't heard anything after completing the checking test. Is this a rejection?
If you heard nothing probably means you passed and they are assessing your CV & Essay. Also did my checking test on Sunday and got the invite for the video recording Monday night. But heard others took a few days.
Their page froze on the mathematical assessment. I emailed them and surly was given a second go. But the technical challenges persisted. I understand that there may had been a high volume of traffic on their system.
@@stephenav8 well to say the least it’s good to see someone out there looking out for the little guy, especially an African 🫡 to you & I hope the RUclips channel inspires more young & older people to know it’s never to late to persue your dreams. I matter what they may be. Have a blessed day
@@stephenav8 Thank you so much j really appreciate for your hard work for all of us thank Mr. PILOT. ANOTHER QUESTION IS HIGHER OR FOUNDATION OR COMBINED?
To be honest, most of the maths test is just doing basic speed distance time questions, I would say they’re a mix of foundation and higher questions, but nothing above a grade 6 will catch you out, its all very doable. I achieved a grade 5 in GCSE Maths and I had no issues whatsoever.
Have all the 70 places been taken up or are they still offering the places? i did all 3 tests on the first day it opened but immediately got rejected after completing the 3rd test. BA then emailed me to redo the checking test but i havent heard anything back after redoing the test? not even a rejection email?
I will say you should hear back eventually. That is my guess anyway. There are many other stages left in the whole process so the 70 spots are still unfilled for now.
Hope you learned from this debrief. Don't forget to drop a like, thank you!
