On the first Day 1 of Journey's Concert ---there were 19 songs all together on their List-- therefore 16 of them were sung by Arnel Pineda with those high notes difficult Journey songs! As usual, some bashers out there are waiting for AP to fail- and dissecting every song of AP all the time !! -- Unfortunately, there are millions of people around the world who want to see Journey with AP and fill the venues of massive crowds each time of Concerts !!! - So, with that handful of bitter bashers out there-- common, !! LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE BITTER! . It's NOT good for your health to be always hateful of others all the time! Look at the brighter side-- and the world will be kind to you! Don't spread hate! Love this and really appreciate your support of Arnel. Journey has only had two real front men. The incredibly amazing Steve Perry and Arnel. There were a couple of replacements that didn't last long and well, that's just how it goes, but Arnel is great and fantastic front man. I feel sad for him sometimes because he's had to follow in the footsteps and shadow of the greatness that was Steve Perry. All these hits that he's singing were made by SP, so that's a difficult road to run. Still he handles it with such class. The one thing that's interesting here is that Steve Perry can't sing like that anymore. Arnel does Steve Perry better than Steve Perry. Who wouldn't love to see SP out there singing his hits? If he were with the band now he wouldn't sound quite so good. Those times are on record. Now is Arnel and I'm so excited to hear their new work.

I lived through SP years--BUT SP left the band for 30years now--so I move on,-- I watched Journey with AP on LIVE Concert and that's it--I got hooked! N Schon knew right away that AP is the right replacement for the legendary SP -(- AP is with the band for 15 years ( 2007---2022 and counting ) I** just felt bad about AP ever since the beginning that there are lots of bashers out there!-- but AP understands that., he claimed it was expected! and he does not answer back! He may not be the same Arnel Pineda we used to admire in awe,15 years ago,but,def'nitely the best vocalist,Journey ever had.The iconic voice may seem to fade,but,the enthusiasm drives him to stay and lives with the legacy this band established for years.He still can sing,even with the highest note,but,could be better enough to just sing it with a heart and full of passion
Isn’t it crazy how they found Arnel who sounds just as good as Steve perry, but they also have Dean on drums who is ALSO a dead match for Steve perry on vocals? What luck haha
Voice is definitely weakening the last few years. Probably normal wear the guy has been singing Journey songs for quite a long time and Steve Perry is pretty tough to keep up with. Possibly the new keyboardist Jason Derlatka being groomed to take over lead duties.
It’s sad I like the guy. But singers have it the worst in these bands. You can’t sing like that into your 60s. Next is the physical abuse drummers put on their bodies. Guitar players have their tendon problems. We bass players just quietly fade away. Or end up dead at the hard rock hotel 😬
I just saw him in Hershey and he sounded amazing. So it is possible he was just a little tired from doing a lot of shows. I know when he came to Hershey he had a few days off to rest his voice
only the greatest band in the world plays their #1 song third! Their list of hits just keeps going. They are excellent in each of their instruments AND, when they found AP, they found the billion dollar man shopping at the dollar star. He is the best entertainer EVER!
@chris his energy, enthusiam, passion and above all his looks never seems to wane. He's still able to run around the stage, jumps atop risers and platforms with zeal. He never seem to get tired and he never seem to get old. I just love this guy, Arnel.
Journey probably has the toughest songs to sing night after night. Not all of their songs are super tough but all of the big hits that are their live staples really are. It's insane that Arnel has been singing these songs for so long now, but he should really tone down those improvisations where he's singing along with the guitar where there are not lyrics on the albums. That surely hasn't helped the strain, but it just seems to be his style.
I'm a Journey fan!! No one can be better than Steve Perry!! If you have any singing background; you can hear Arnel straining his voice; and the band tries to cover up his errors. I would pay to hear Deen sing!! All the respect to Arnel!!😉

Ok - let me start by saying I was a teenager when Steve Perry joined the band. i have loved Journey (and Van Halen, etc..) for that many years. I sang for years, (NOT like Steve) and I know singers, singing, and what the song is supposed to sound like. Where the highs and lows are placed. Sustained notes etc.. Arnel is 54 and still trying to sing Steve Perry songs. He took off quite a while to let his voice chill from the constant wear and tear on his vocal chords. He came back after the pandemic (which hasn't gone anywhere) and his voice is "almost" shot. I've heard several versions of this concert alone. The band is tight! The band will be able to go one when Arnel leaves (which I imagine is soon). I'm sure a throat doctor has told him at some point he will lose his (singing) voice. In the beginning of his Journey career he could mimic Steve Perry. That's what he did as a karaoke singer. He tried to sound like the person who's song he was singing. And he was good at it - that's why Neal Schon offered him the job. Trying to sound like Steve Perry for 15 years has "toasted" his voice. He can hit the occasional high note, but he can" hold them. The sustain is gone. He breaks up long notes into three or four parts instead of one. He has a rasp that sounds like it hurts. He's definitely almost done. I'm not a "basher" (terminology that is often used here) or a troll or hater. It's been 15 years. He was a very good Perry replacement in 2007. If they don''t start lowering his keys - they will look for a replacement. Neal will play himself into the grave.
It's all about money for Botox Schon lol he has mental health problems that came from his drug issues - Pineda is there because Neal is hard to deal with and Pineda is a timid little guy

Is it me or has Arnels voice better now. For awhile in past videos over the past year it sounded stressed tbh. For me it sounds much better!!!! I'm sure it's coaching etc....
Arnel's voice is shot. He can still sing high, yes....but no longer hearing that Steve Perry timbre we all love. I could barely recognize the opening songs if not for the music of the band. They tried to cover it up with louder guitar/bass mix, longer solos every song (which got tiring fast believe it or not even with the great Schon), and Arnel tried to make it up with his athletisism running around the stage with his hoarse voice on the high notes. Jon you're a brilliant pianist, but we didn't fork over a ton a cash to attend a piano recital either....spare us with the extended piano solos. I'd rather hear Deen beat up the drums if Arnel needs a rest between songs. Add to that the bare bones stage, and with that a lack of chemistry amongst the band, it looked like a shameless cash grab. May as well call it "the Neil Schon needs more bon bons for his trophy wife tour."
Perry caused the rise in the 80's and fall of Journey in 1989 and 1998. The last time he performed in a 25 song-concerts was in 1989. When he recalled the group in 1998 he went on leave again just before they were scheduled to go on tour. The founders decided to look for a replacement but Perry sent his lawyer instead. We don't know what really transpired then, but as the events unfolded, the founders got Augeri, Soto, then Arnel. And Perry has been receiving royalties for his songs. It took another decade to recover their spot in the music industry. Today Journey has become a Multigenerational and global band thru hard work and patience. So how is Perry's voice? All we know is he never did 25-song concert tours since 1989. He went solo, but sporadically appearing in small gigs, guestings and recordings. Today, Perry sounds like a regular 70 year old guy. All singers age and their voices inevitably change.
It appears that low quality videos are being posted, so the haters can start criticizing AP, like losing his voice, struggling or should resign as he is not worthy of being part of Journey or a poor imitation of Perry. Yea, Jrny has had 2 singers b4, but Rolie didn't sing the songs S.P. song on the LP's... Today's Jrny limps the vocals around between 3 lead singers... Imo, sucks. I dunno... They don’t have three singers. They have one lead singer and two backup singers. One backup sings one song a night, the other one sings one song a night… the song he has been singing every night since 2003. His signature song. None of those backup singers sing on the albums. Deen sang two songs on Generations, but he is a group member. Just like Gregg did in the past. You saying that Journey “limps around” between three singers proves you don’t know anything about the current concerts. You’re like any Perry loyalist who is going to bring up “who’s the singer?” and “why the two drummers?” Etc. without doing any of the homework. If you don’t want to do any homework, fine. But don’t come on here thinking you know the details.
I think AP even wanted to resign, but Journey mgmt did not accept his resignation (Journey even fired Ross Valory/Steve Smith), just so sad to think that there was a drama issue behind the Journey curtain.

I am a fan of Arnel and I am really happy with what he accomplished when he joined Journey but I think it's time for him to rest. I am not a good singer but I can really hear him struggling singing these very hard and demanding Journey songs; flat notes, cracks, and he can't even hold a note anymore. I've watched the whole concert and I noticed that Jonathan keeps looking at Arnel whenever he sings out of tune and it's not a good look. Jonathan even seems to be happier when Deen sang versus when Arnel sings. Maybe the band doesn't want to let him go? I don't know. Maybe for publicity? I don't know either. But if I was him, I'd save myself for further "humiliation" because I'm sure that the people who were watching them live can also hear that his voice is really not for this band anymore.
@Master Pepz-- As you may notice that most rock singers that were popular on Tour are starting to age too..--after prolonged NONstop Concerts. I have seen LIVE Concerts of Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, and Steve Tyler-- all I noticed were struggling and don't sound like they used to be on their LIVE Concerts that I attended !! . I guess when they do travel constantly on TOUR Live Concert with a brutal tight schedule and sudden change of weather and exhaustion does this to their vocals-- I guess, no one complains about anything to those singers because those popular singers I mentioned are the original singer..just like SP! They are also humans---- considering the number of songs in one night ( song listings as 18- up to 26 songs 1) To get a rapid replacement for frontman-- could you imagine the time and effort that Journey has to do rebuilding a frontman?.... maybe they just have to do a strategy in order to keep resting time---by NOT doing too hectic and too close Concert Schedule dates! And the idea of putting lead help to sing( as Deen sang 1 song and Jason did 2--was a good idea--- instead of the frontman singing the entire song for the night. Could you imagine that? Journey songs are difficult songs ! . BUT it's entirely in the hands of N Schon and J Cain --they are all in the music industry since the '70s!! Another incredible Concert of Journey---- As always, Arnel does it sings high notes songs after songs so amazingly well-- If ever in one Concert that there is either Deen or Jason singing as an extra lead to help out, why not? Why? see below..
On the first Day 1 of Journey's Concert ---there were 19 songs all together on their List-- therefore 16 of them were sung by Arnel Pineda with those high notes difficult Journey songs!
As usual, some bashers out there are waiting for AP to fail- and dissecting every song of AP all the time !! -- Unfortunately, there are millions of people around the world who want to see Journey with AP and fill the venues of massive crowds each time of Concerts !!! - So, with that handful of bitter bashers out there-- common, !! LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE BITTER! . It's NOT good for your health to be always hateful of others all the time! Look at the brighter side-- and the world will be kind to you! Don't spread hate!
BTW---thanks to AP for keeping the legacy of Journey alive for many years ( From 2007--2022 ~ 15 years and counting !! Amazing, isn't it? ! What dedication to the band!
So, for bashers out there-it is just foolish to even hope for changing a frontman like AP who is doing wonderfully well with Journey... To get another Journey frontman may mean a very bad move-- to train what AP is doing now-??? My goodness !! N Schon and J Cain are NOT stupid to gamble to replace AP at this stage! Maybe they will end up retiring first before getting a steady frontman like AP !!! they are in the music industry for decades-- they know what they are doing !!
AP has nothing to fear-- the guy is so humble enough and publicly claimed to STEP Back--- if SP wishes to rejoin-- BUT SP does NOT like to rejoin Journey!
Changing the style of adding help for AP to sing the entire night is a great move-instead of singing NON-STOP with only a minute interval the entire Concert !! ( The first night AP sings 16, Deen sings (1), and Jason ( 2 ) Still, that's a tough job- and bashers are lingering around Arnel's every move.>> Common bashers, move on ----, why waste your time watching? NO ONE is forcing you to watch Journey Concert-!!
BTW-- I have watched Journey on LIVE Concerts with AP as frontman many times---- AP always does an incredible performance each time! !!

Love this and really appreciate your support of Arnel. Journey has only had two real front men. The incredibly amazing Steve Perry and Arnel. There were a couple of replacements that didn't last long and well, that's just how it goes, but Arnel is great and fantastic front man. I feel sad for him sometimes because he's had to follow in the footsteps and shadow of the greatness that was Steve Perry. All these hits that he's singing were made by SP, so that's a difficult road to run. Still he handles it with such class. The one thing that's interesting here is that Steve Perry can't sing like that anymore. Arnel does Steve Perry better than Steve Perry. Who wouldn't love to see SP out there singing his hits? If he were with the band now he wouldn't sound quite so good. Those times are on record. Now is Arnel and I'm so excited to hear their new work.

.I just wish that with the NEW Journey Album to be released later this year, 2022----(FREEDOM ) with 15 tracklistings songs-- I hope any of those songs would be a hit song--that would be Arnel singing it--instead of SP ..
BTW--SP and AP are on good terms.. SP even thank AP and said good things about AP... BTW--AP was so proud of SP as he idolizes SP ever since his younger years, even now !. ( This year of 2022-- SP is 73 years old and AP is 54 ) . AP in one interview claimed he is ready for anything that could happen to him in Journey, he was just grateful for the opportunity as Journey's frontman for all those years. AP understands that nothing is permanent in this world!

I was at that show. His voice seemed shot that night. Please tell me he’s not losing it. He was great a few years back.
Voice is definitely weakening the last few years. Probably normal wear the guy has been singing Journey songs for quite a long time and Steve Perry is pretty tough to keep up with. Possibly the new keyboardist Jason Derlatka being groomed to take over lead duties.
The show a few months ago we were cringing to his voice.
It’s sad I like the guy. But singers have it the worst in these bands. You can’t sing like that into your 60s. Next is the physical abuse drummers put on their bodies. Guitar players have their tendon problems. We bass players just quietly fade away. Or end up dead at the hard rock hotel 😬

@chris his energy, enthusiam, passion and above all his looks never seems to wane. He's still able to run around the stage, jumps atop risers and platforms with zeal. He never seem to get tired and he never seem to get old. I just love this guy, Arnel.
Journey probably has the toughest songs to sing night after night. Not all of their songs are super tough but all of the big hits that are their live staples really are. It's insane that Arnel has been singing these songs for so long now, but he should really tone down those improvisations where he's singing along with the guitar where there are not lyrics on the albums. That surely hasn't helped the strain, but it just seems to be his style.

Ok - let me start by saying I was a teenager when Steve Perry joined the band. i have loved Journey (and Van Halen, etc..) for that many years. I sang for years, (NOT like Steve) and I know singers, singing, and what the song is supposed to sound like. Where the highs and lows are placed. Sustained notes etc.. Arnel is 54 and still trying to sing Steve Perry songs. He took off quite a while to let his voice chill from the constant wear and tear on his vocal chords. He came back after the pandemic (which hasn't gone anywhere) and his voice is "almost" shot. I've heard several versions of this concert alone. The band is tight! The band will be able to go one when Arnel leaves (which I imagine is soon). I'm sure a throat doctor has told him at some point he will lose his (singing) voice. In the beginning of his Journey career he could mimic Steve Perry. That's what he did as a karaoke singer. He tried to sound like the person who's song he was singing. And he was good at it - that's why Neal Schon offered him the job. Trying to sound like Steve Perry for 15 years has "toasted" his voice. He can hit the occasional high note, but he can" hold them. The sustain is gone. He breaks up long notes into three or four parts instead of one. He has a rasp that sounds like it hurts. He's definitely almost done.
I'm not a "basher" (terminology that is often used here) or a troll or hater. It's been 15 years. He was a very good Perry replacement in 2007. If they don''t start lowering his keys - they will look for a replacement. Neal will play himself into the grave.
The same thing basically happened to Steve Augeri. It’s no wonder Steve Perry himself is reluctant to even tour anymore.
It's all about money for Botox Schon lol he has mental health problems that came from his drug issues - Pineda is there because Neal is hard to deal with and Pineda is a timid little guy

Is it me or has Arnels voice better now. For awhile in past videos over the past year it sounded stressed tbh. For me it sounds much better!!!! I'm sure it's coaching etc....
Arnel's voice is shot. He can still sing high, yes....but no longer hearing that Steve Perry timbre we all love. I could barely recognize the opening songs if not for the music of the band. They tried to cover it up with louder guitar/bass mix, longer solos every song (which got tiring fast believe it or not even with the great Schon), and Arnel tried to make it up with his athletisism running around the stage with his hoarse voice on the high notes. Jon you're a brilliant pianist, but we didn't fork over a ton a cash to attend a piano recital either....spare us with the extended piano solos. I'd rather hear Deen beat up the drums if Arnel needs a rest between songs.
Add to that the bare bones stage, and with that a lack of chemistry amongst the band, it looked like a shameless cash grab. May as well call it "the Neil Schon needs more bon bons for his trophy wife tour."
Perry caused the rise in the 80's and fall of Journey in 1989 and 1998. The last time he performed in a 25 song-concerts was in 1989. When he recalled the group in 1998 he went on leave again just before they were scheduled to go on tour. The founders decided to look for a replacement but Perry sent his lawyer instead. We don't know what really transpired then, but as the events unfolded, the founders got Augeri, Soto, then Arnel. And Perry has been receiving royalties for his songs. It took another decade to recover their spot in the music industry. Today Journey has become a Multigenerational and global band thru hard work and patience.
So how is Perry's voice? All we know is he never did 25-song concert tours since 1989. He went solo, but sporadically appearing in small gigs, guestings and recordings. Today, Perry sounds like a regular 70 year old guy. All singers age and their voices inevitably change.
Arnel is actually the third best singer in this band behind Deen and the keyboard player

It appears that low quality videos are being posted, so the haters can start criticizing AP, like losing his voice, struggling or should resign as he is not worthy of being part of Journey or a poor imitation of Perry. Firstly, and this is way personal, but A.P.'s pronunciation of a few words vs. S.P.'s ... is a deal breaker. Secondly, A.P. has some terribly pitchy offerings - on EVERY audience member recording done with their phone's, YT is swamped with evidence.
Yea, Jrny has had 2 singers b4, but Rolie didn't sing the songs S.P. song on the LP's... Today's Jrny limps the vocals around between 3 lead singers... Imo, sucks.

Anyway, I was agreeing about not adding a bunch of runs, etc. That’s why I asked for clarification. They don’t have three singers. They have one lead singer and two backup singers. One backup sings one song a night, the other one sings one song a night… the song he has been singing every night since 2003. His signature song. None of those backup singers sing on the albums. Deen sang two songs on Generations, but he is a group member. Just like Gregg did in the past. You saying that Journey “limps around” between three singers proves you don’t know anything about the current concerts. You’re like any Perry loyalist who is going to bring up “who’s the singer?” and “why the two drummers?” Etc. without doing any of the homework. If you don’t want to do any homework, fine. But don’t come on here thinking you know the details.

I think AP even wanted to resign, but Journey mgmt did not accept his resignation (Journey even fired Ross Valory/Steve Smith), just so sad to think that there was a drama issue behind the Journey curtain.

I am a fan of Arnel and I am really happy with what he accomplished when he joined Journey but I think it's time for him to rest. I am not a good singer but I can really hear him struggling singing these very hard and demanding Journey songs; flat notes, cracks, and he can't even hold a note anymore. I've watched the whole concert and I noticed that Jonathan keeps looking at Arnel whenever he sings out of tune and it's not a good look. Jonathan even seems to be happier when Deen sang versus when Arnel sings. Maybe the band doesn't want to let him go? I don't know. Maybe for publicity? I don't know either. But if I was him, I'd save myself for further "humiliation" because I'm sure that the people who were watching them live can also hear that his voice is really not for this band anymore.
@Master Pepz-- As you may notice that most rock singers that were popular on Tour are starting to age too..--after prolonged NONstop Concerts. I have seen LIVE Concerts of Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, and Steve Tyler-- all I noticed were struggling and don't sound like they used to be on their LIVE Concerts that I attended !! . I guess when they do travel constantly on TOUR Live Concert with a brutal tight schedule and sudden change of weather and exhaustion does this to their vocals-- I guess, no one complains about anything to those singers because those popular singers I mentioned are the original singer..just like SP!
They are also humans---- considering the number of songs in one night ( song listings as 18- up to 26 songs 1) To get a rapid replacement for frontman-- could you imagine the time and effort that Journey has to do rebuilding a frontman?....
maybe they just have to do a strategy in order to keep resting time---by NOT doing too hectic and too close Concert Schedule dates! And the idea of putting lead help to sing( as Deen sang 1 song and Jason did 2--was a good idea--- instead of the frontman singing the entire song for the night. Could you imagine that? Journey songs are difficult songs ! . BUT it's entirely in the hands of N Schon and J Cain --they are all in the music industry since the '70s!! They decide what is good for Journey.!

Ang alam ko,aalis din iyan si AP, ang sabi niya kay Neal Schon, na pag hindi na siya makakanta, that's the time he will quit)
