- The brand from Saignelégier in the Jura mountains introduced some 20 years ago the Pontos collection with the aim of presenting an affordable elegant watch proposition. Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, and Thiébaut Bentz, Product Director, come back on this collection with some new models, its significance and how it fits in the brand's strategy.

It’s a very under appreciated brand that are trying to have their own voice in the industry which I respect very much. I have one ML watch and had it for 12 years now. Thank you for the video, it’s good to see the talented people behind the brand.
Great video. Love ML as I have two in my collection already👌🏻🤓
So awaiting for your video Marc.
Yes did enjoy , thank you
ML is a great way to enter the luxury Swiss market they are much better and more unique designs than equally priced Swatch Group watches
Thank You Marc André for another informative video
Hello from Calgary
masterpiece the best ever made
A green and gold with brown strap version of PT6388-SS001-430-1 would be awesome!
There are some nice ideas that went into the monopusher chrono, but I’m really not sure about the black PVD case. Nice green dial for the Day-Date.
PVD is tricky, not a big fan of this treatment on any watches, but that’s very personal
The chronograph fading effect really diminishes the crispness of the other markings and serves more as a distraction, there is a reason most chronographs do not use this technique. Another minus is the date wheel not matching in color on any of the offerings, even the off-white day-date, which is unfortunate and is a sign of cut corners simply because every other manufacturer also does this. The hand length and proportions are good though and show good forethought with the design.
Dear Marc André, firstly of all Happy New Year - even though it already has a certain age. The reason for me to write you is the following: Last year I have ordered Millenium Watch Book. Due to custom reasons I did not receive the book. The contact I am having with your Co-worker (JC) is not leading anywhere and does not reflect any customer service to me at all. Sad and bitter as a first contact with you guys. Is there any chance to get in contact with you directly? Regards.
I like ML Aikon and Pontos, but I wanna to ask You Marc, can you make a video for RADO Captain Cook Mark III?
„complex watchmaking know-how“: put ETA/Sellita movement into case. (great designs though)
They should show a few other interesting wathes they made in the moment when they where talking about complex watchmaking know-how in this video.
The costs of creating own movements are prohibitive and time consuming. Therefore using available movements by ETA or Sellita are sound business alternatives. Unless you need a movement for a specific purpose which can only be obtained by creating an own movement, using available movements are the wisest options for any manufacturer. It’s just plain business sense.
@@JamesAlexander14 It´s about WATCH - MAKING, not buying some movement. This is cheap and mass produced ETA stuff. The only extra you get for the Money is a dial and a name on it. I can buy a movement like this, a case like this, hands like this etc, and build my own watch of it, which I did already... That is not the point to reach for... I´d rather go Seiko first, inhouse movement, inhouse design, inhouse innovation... A REAL GOOD WATCH is not about the name, it´s about innovation an technique... I personally go for Glashütte. Original movements, unique design, outstanding performance, German quality. I know it´s owned by the Swatch group as well, but you´ll NEVER find a ETA/Selita in a Glashütte. It´s about engineering, NOT just fance names....
Actually liked the green being used there
Hello to all in The Watches Club! Is it possible that you'd visit Norway for doing a watch review/visit the watch shop in Oslo? Anyways, I love your videos and never give up!!! (PS: There is a norwegian brand called Von Doren, if you need ideas)
Would love to do this 👍👍👍
Finally, Maurice La has a contender against Omega?
I have zero interest in Maurice Lacroix. None. The only reason I’m making this post is because I’m a subscriber.
nice watch
monopouser! 🤔 Honest casual watch not bad.
Yeah guys, we count on you to pay for our overheads whilst we don’t do much effort and give you an inferior product in a faded package.
Thiébaut Bentz looks very much like Mark Ruffalo :D
These designs with the indices cut to pieces to shoehorn some subdials in are always a big no for me. No matter how nice the rest of the watch is. Indices are usually made with the greatest of care and precision. A perfect polish or perfectly blued. And then they go and cut the 6 and 12 to pieces and stick some left over bits of those numbers on the dial. It completely ruins the design for me. This isn't samething unique to ML, many brands do this. Even a €12,000.- IWC Portugieser (otherwise beautiful watch) suffers from the same lazy design, with cut off pieces of indices on the dial.
I'm just some guy with just some opinion that nobody needs to agree with (please form your own opinions instead), but I think those designs lack a level of elegance and refinement that was well within reach of the design if they could have been bothered. That extra level of refinement in the design should be there regarding the price tags on these watches, but it's missing. Sorry for ranting.
Aikon is what keeps them alive, fortunately, the world is full of I wanna be AP! But to me, this brand has the same quality than Tissot. With a very big difference: Tissot is superb for the price point, ML absolutely no...To me, Oris and Longines are a way better than ML
I own watches from all three brands and sorry but ML are so much better. The finishing is much better and everything is just a step up.
