Great video mariel, just what is needed. All the A.I tools are here to stay, without a doubt, so might as well embrace them, but of course they need to be used responsibly.
True... AI will only keep getting better and better, and using it has its consequences depending on how we choose to engage with it/adapt it or to it/make it part of our lives. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment Chris! :)
Finally! You are the only RUclipsr who speaks the truth about CHATGPT. It is NOT a tool to be used to make money quickly. And KDP publishers can't be naive about the legalities of using AI generated content. It is only when we work hard at creating UNIQUE content that we will succeed on KDP and not get our account terminated for AI generated rubbish that breaches other authors copyright rights.
Hi Libby, thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! Luckily there are other RUclipsrs who also warn against using Chatgpt-generated content in books, and instead encourage using it to do research, as an idea bank, and to improve upon. One of them is Chris Raydog who recently made a video on the topic. There are two key things you said with which I agree 100%: self-publishing requires "hard work" and "unique content". Unfortunately it's not what a lot of people want to hear, which is probably why the get-rich-quick schemes are so in demand.
Great video. Unfortunately a major publishing company, I’m sorry I forgot their name has closed all new authors submissions for the time being because of a huge amount of these books written by ai being submitted. These companies are not dumb. They know what’s what. They also said in a news story that they think that the reason is because of the influencers pushing it as a side hustle. We all know how hard it is to be published already. So sadly, no one is getting published by that company any time soon. Ai has started ruining it for the rest of us.🤦♀️🤷🏻♀️ some of the artwork generated by ai also has some of the original artist’s signature on them! I wonder how many lawsuits will follow.
Thanks for writing this thought-provoking comment :). (Sigh) unfortunately, I think most of humanity isn't prepared for AI (pardon me for the bluntness), which is why there are such swarms of people using AI with barbaric intentions to: ''cheat their way into-', 'scam', 'find the easy way in' or 'the easy way out', 'make fast easy money at the expense of others' etc. However I think there is a spark of hope in what you said "These (publishing) companies are not dumb. They know what's what". I think that as artists or writers there is no better time than now to improve our craft and keep getting better at what we do. Because sooner or later -with so much thoughtless AI content being put out there - there will be a demand for good writers and artists who don't rely on AI, these types of artists and writers will stand out and be more valued. So I think the best we can do is use AI to improve ourselves and to help is grow in our competence and craft.
Thank you for replying. I agree 100% I also think that people will get sick of the ai and move on to the next thing as always happens. We as authors should not give up as like you said we will be in demand. I am seeing a lot of ai art and It is all so similar, as is, probably the writing which is why that company could spot most of it a mile away. We will adapt. I just feel for the authors who would have been accepted at this time but now won’t. Unless another company takes them on, but, they just have to keep trying I guess. Best of luck to you with all your future endeavours 😊✨😎🐱🐾
@@moonkatmagic5599 we writers are a resilient bunch I think if the writers who got submissions rejected from this company are persistent they will find much better opportunities. Thankfully we live in the best time to be selfpublished, so even if all traditional publishing companies were to become ultra picky, there are various selfpublishing platforms (paid and free) to choose from :).
Spot on! .... People that make content "youtubers"... just to make money from making content will say whatever they need to say to get a view .... and most people that they get those views from want to hear "easy and quick" ... And you know what happens to those folks when they try KDP, they fail and blame everyone but themselves ... great video! AI and ChatGPT are amazing tools and there are ways to use them when creating your books that can help you do it faster, and better.
Exactly, I'm so glad you get it! Unfortunately, there is a massive audience for these "easy and quick" money making scheme/scam/misguiding content. Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts - you've got a great channel btw!
Thanks for mentioning this, i totally agree with your take on the use of this tool. I'm still researching KDP and the like but i find this video very important. I certainly do not want to start my KDP journy only to get banned after inadvertantly using these tools in the mistaken thought that it was fine. Thanks again ! :)
Thanks Daftolddad (neat name)! And yes I think it's smart that you're doing your research first. E.g. familiarizing yourself with KDP's content guidelines will surely save you from making many mistakes once you decide to start selfpublishing. Just to note: when I mentioned the potential of getting books banned, it was a hypothetical example. As of today Amazon hasn't made any official statements regarding how they will treat AI-generated content in books. This being said, when things look murky, it's always better to stay on the safe side. Good luck!
I came across a youtube video on using ChatGPT to write childrens stories. I tried it and the results were rubbish, even after getting ChatGPT to review and rewrite several times. I think AI has a place in researching but not in creative writing
I agree! ChatGPT is great to use as a tool to assist you during your writing process but I feel that it can't beat the quality of human storytelling and humor.
The funny thing is ChatGPT would tell them that, if they asked - and would probably include a disclaimer like yours if they asked it to write the video script 😆
Lol. After reading your comment I asked ChatGPT and here is a transcription of the response I got: "As an AI language model, I can generate a video script for you, but I must inform you that the content I generate is based on pre-existing text from the internet. While I strive to provide accurate and reliable information, I cannot guarantee that the script I generate will be free from copyright issues. It's always best to create original content or properly attribute any information you use from other sources to avoid copyright infringement. If you would like me to generate a script for you, please provide the topic or specific details you would like me to include, and I'll do my best to assist you."
I am not impressed with Chat GPT content. I've caught quite a few mistakes and factual errors whilst proofreading it. The art it creates is commonplace kitsch. You are better than that, Mariel. I've saying many of the same things about AI misses.

Thank you for your refreshing honesty. I learned so much about how to leverage tools while maintaining integrity. You have a subscriber!
Thank you so much, it means a lot 🙂🙂🙂!

I agree with you Jill! Factually it's pretty unreliable.
👍👍👍
Thanks!
