Because it’s not super obvious in the video, I just want to point out that Layne is singing lead in the 5-part harmony chorus right before Ashley ascends! And it’s a really good example of his pretty singing voice without any character work in it.
Ashley is a friend of Cesar. They both came originally from Puerto Rico. We see her putting a tape into the cassette player, and on it is written VoicePlay. A small detail but the devil is in the detail. And once again = never stop when the screen goes black. The flying Ashley was an amazing trick, very clever. And yes, Geoff being a didgeridoo is incredible. I know how they did the levitation but how Geoff does what he does.
Layne arranged this in just a couple days while he and Tony were in the process of moving Pattycake Studios to their new location. It was the first video filmed in their new location, which has higher ceilings than the old one. Came in handy!
Running up the hill cover by placebo was one of my all time favourite songs and now this version has stolen its place! It’s so good! Everyone is just perfect! I hear something different on each listen.
Still waiting fer a react to Geoff's "Reigns of Castamere" from GOThrones.... Few reactions have been offered for it .... very under-represented. Know ya will love it.
Great reaction! I completely agree with what you said about Geoff needing to voice or play a monster or villain in a movie. I think he would absolutely kill it, and I would pay good money to see it.
Always loved Kate Bush (yes I'm old and remember this when it was first released 😆) and it's so good to see her getting a revival because of this "Stranger Things" thing (not a telly watcher so know nothing about it). There are a fair few covers of this around now and this is certainly one of the best.
Awesome reaction to Voice Play as always DJ. Go back to the beginning when Ashley snaps the cassette player shut. Notice that the name Voice Play is written on the cassette. It's hard to catch so you have to play it back in slow motion.
I finally figured out the number 410 in you handle. The amount of words you spoke, in the first half of the video, and also the last half. Maybe will have to double that now I guess. :)
Another review that's well done. 👍 I remember & like the original version; VoicePlay did a great job on a cool song. I don't have the chance to watch the Stranger Things show, so I'll believe you that it's good.
I never saw Stranger Things because it just sounded way too scary. But I did could catch that particular episode and sort of skip through bits and pieces of it so I could get a rough idea of what the heck was going on! I’m really glad that I got to see the making of the video because I could not figure out how they got Ashley floating until then.
Love Running up that Hill! The Hound & Fox have an amazing version of this song on their channel. Jonathan Young and Caleb Hyles do a great cover. Very emotional! Avi Kaplan also did a short with 3 Avi's in the video harmonising.
@@marshayoung9387 I'm just an old rock chick 😂and love the heavier rock/metal version of J and C - that remains my fave cover. VP come second for me. I don't think Ashley sounds "just like Kate" although she does have a similarity. It's a great version - just not my fave. We'll have to agree to disagree on this 🙂
Incredible reaction DJ, there are so many great parts and i think you caught most of them! I hope this is going on the playlist so you get to hear it and hopefully pick up on the others... Loving this journey dude, can't believe it has been such a short time and you have done so much... 💗
The reaction you missed I think was right when Caesar started, then everything blew your mind. 😂. I also agree with you. VoicePlay is very generous in the parts their guests are given. They are so good to everyone they work with,it seems. I also think Rachel was the one that floated because those harnesses can be a little more uncomfortable for the guys. 😉
No harness was involved. It is camera angles. She really never left the ground. The ascension where her feet did leave the ground was done by her standing between two stools balancing her hands on them, and slowly lifting her feet.
@@katherinelinkous223 The behind the scenes is my favorite part of being a patron (starts at five dollars a month😉) . All of the footage for when she’s facing us (in “”the air”) were done by her lying down across a surface draped in green and doing a superman pose and trying to sing in that position. She said her abs were pretty sore after all that. Then they did computer magic to put her “in front” of the video of the guys. Some patrons at a higher tier get to occasionally see footage as they are getting ready to film it but they never get to see the song at that point. So there was a lot of speculation when this first came out a week early on Patreon and they had not yet released the behind the scenes. Their new one just came out on Patreon today and it is a riot. They can go from super dramatic to downright silly in the blink of an eye. It has a repeat guest artist who has been in a serious video with the same basic theme. Are you curious yet?

You might be surprised by how many people actually have missed the ending because they thought it was over. Glad you didn't miss it. 😅😂🤣😂🤣😅😆
Tsk! When will they learn, never stop watching Voiceplay vids until the Patrons roll!?

It was awesome to me how the last verse before Ashley took off was very Layne-forward. They don't do that often enough.
That first "weird" sound is a combination of a hum, and a whistle, at the same time.
Great song. Great reaction! Thanks!

you should check out some of their 'Minis'.......they do the stranger things theme......you think Geoff shocked you here?.........YIKES!.........>^^

Damn I just noticed Green and White Power Rangers helmets. That's amazing. Love your vids!
Have you seen them do the Stranger Things theme song? It’s insane! ❤
He should watch some of those minis! They do Critical Role, too.
If you like deep vocals and throat singing i feel you will love The Hu band
I love that they found a Walkman to use for this. AND a cassette tape! Boy, that brings back memories!
I am a Stranger Things fan so this was a royal treat.
