When we traveled to India last year we had to use the hospital system we found it to be top notch and very quick. People we tell about our experience in the hospitals in India seem very surprised by our experience. I think they think India is backward but they couldn’t be more wrong.

What is the criteria of being backward?
India was the richest, wealthiest country till 1800 before European started invading and looting India.
Europeans accidentally reached Americas during searching for shortest sea route to India because the main land route and sea route became expensive because of huge taxes by Islamic empires in between.
Why Europeans were desperate to search shortest route to India!
Because India was manufacturing almost everything till that time .
India was in her classical Era in 9th century but Islamic invasions started temples , universities and libraries were destroyed by invaders.
India is knowledge civilization of the world .
Many mathematics, scientific , medicinal, philosophical work is attributed to Indian civilization.
Christian Europe dark ages removed only because they started to come to India .
They took books from India , translated them studied them and Galileo, Newton sort of people started to emerge.
Europe consider its origin from Greek civilization and that Greek civilization only have 30,000 manuscripts that too mostly translation of Indian ancient knowledge works but India even after destruction of universities and libraries still have more than 10 million manuscripts.
Conservatism was alien to India .
Conservatism is the result of 1000 years of Islamic and European Victorian Christian rule in India.
Europeans today think they are modern, liberal , rich etc but these things was existed in Europe even 100 years back.

Many of the Westerners either love or hate because they forget that, every culture and country have their nuances and looking from their own biases and lenses will just wash out the beauty of another country.

I love the point you made about Indian clothing, especially for women. I was in India for 4 months in 2009 and the colors and designs and jewelry were a feast for my eyes. I even took to wearing salwar kameez (suits) and even saris ( a few times ). When I returned back to the States, the clothes seemed so blah. Everything utilitarian and black, gray or brown. I still incorporate more colors into my wardrobe after this experience. I hope Indians don't copy the western world and lose all this beauty in the future. I think the younger generation are quite fond of wearing western clothing now.

Hi! Actually the west is pretty invasive as well to non westerners. The schengen visa used to visit Europe requires one to submit bank statements for 3 months, income proof, travel and hotel itinerary for your entire stay, letters of invitation form the host country, letter from your employer giving you permission to travel etc. :)

    • @IvanaPerkovicOfficial
      @IvanaPerkovicOfficial  5 лет назад +3

Hi the ceremonies that are performed when opening a shop or an office or even buying a new car are not necessarily religious. It is taking out the negative energy and mantras bring in the good thoughts and energy into the building or car. The concept of Hinduism is more a way of life than religious aspects.

Nice to see you describing the cultural differances in the Netherlands and India. As an Indian living in Belgium ( neighbour of the Netherlands), past many years...I totally agree with you about the healthcare system there in India is faster than here. Here I always have to make an appointment with my general medical practioner ? ( Huisdokter), then she/ he has to refer me to a specialist doctor in case of need. For example, for a dermatologist I had to wait 2 months before I got treatment for my skin allergy. I think, it is just due to lack of skilled to highly professionals here. Whereas in India, there plenty of docors, engineers, specialists, advocates, teachers, nurses and many more professonals.

Violence against Doctors have sky-rocketed in India to a situation where A doctor has been beaten to death recently. If my country today don't learn to respect and value the talented medical professionals we have, I am afraid about the difficult times ahead. @FirstPerson ofcourse regulations will be different in different countries and everything has pros and cons. When in India most of the official communications are done through messages or emails, in Europe you will find everything is via letter. When you are too much into online banking you will have higher chances or spam and fraud. On other hand wasting so much of paper for each and every communication is not good for environment and also it's a very slow process. So it doesn't make any sense to have an opinion which is good and which is bad. This video talks a lot about that only and there I have a problem.

While getting down from the car, they told your bill is 1185 rupees. Why you ask? They told that your car went through some areas where demand was very high. So, your fare was "dynamically increased to adjust other fares of that area". After calling them next day, they were absolutely non-challant and rude. I wish them nothing but failure.

Hi Ivan ji, Thanks for highlighting growing trend of non vegetarianism in India..
I would request you to make some educational videos on why West is heading towards veganism and it's advantages, as our Indian youth tries to imitate whatever West does.

Oh my gosh. Really you've analyzed and observed about the cultural differences especially in religion, fashion, banking procedures, Finance, tax norms , business rules etc. Such an amazing job that you've done so far. But please keep it in mind government authorities are monitoring your income and tax liable in India for foreigners especially expatriates in order to avoid tax evasion. Awesome and more useful information to European Tourists. Great Job

    Hey 👋👋, so...
    1) we indians normally don't really care about others bank transaction so there was really no need for privacy on transactions.....I mean policies are formed based on needs right.....and ya you need to be paranoid about phone number .... especially if you are a pretty girl 😂😂
    2) customer service quality is based on various things like if they are being monitored or if they like the job or if it's their own business things like that ...... mostly the tele customer service are bad cuz people don't wanna sit in a place and listen to people whining ( which is basically what their job is 😂) so they don't care they're just here for the money 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
    3) med care here is the best ...... maybe a little lower quality compared to western standards .....it depends on the money 🤷‍♂️
    4) religion .....you should do some research on Indian religions and their origin .....I am sure you will find it interesting
5 ) we just got bored of vegan 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.....and we don't eat cows ( mostly )😂..... mostly chicken and fish
6 ) ya we stare when people show clevage and legs🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ ...... mostly cuz it's new and we are just adapting ......and you have to agree that if one girl is showing cleavage and legs between 1000 moderately dressed ......it's mostly cuz they're the exception of the norm .....like watching a clown walking in the streets......

One thing I feel about western countries that why do they wear so boring clothes in terms of colour like either white, grey, black that's it just three colours dominate the whole textile industry...I mean why not to wear different colours like in India when u do have so many colours. It's just my perspective I don't mean to offend but it looks boring and sad.

    • @Mrtribru69
      @Mrtribru69 5 лет назад +1

True! Scandanavian countries are the worst in clothing colours! Just grey, dark shades. If you want to see some vibrant colours, you have to go south to spain, Portugal or Italy.

I guess it's something to do with our culture and mentality. We dutch are a very egalitarian people, we don't want to stand out we prefer to blend in with the others. We also are extremely practical and love simplicity, so therefore our clothes have to be simple, practical, suited to all kinds of weather (especially rain) and unnoticable.

I believe your sense of egalitarian is not apt. and correlating it with colors.
There is no hierarchical values in colors, so no harm in trying out different colors.

    • @mariadebake5483

Another difference is the blank expression of people while walking the streets in India no one bothers to say hi or pass a smile on each other whereas it's common to have a positive eye contact with people passing smiles at each other on the streets in England or other European countries.

nice vlogging, yours is the only one i seem to be watching regularly. like your approach to topics on hand, though you do not always give equal space for negative things. i once had a penpal (you may have to look this up) from Holland and she sent me a book about the country, we were corresponding right through school days but once we finished school we sort of lost touch....i some times wonder how nice it would be if i met her now along with my other pals, a girl from west germany and a boy from nigeria......thank you. wish u well

Secondly, Yes we Indians r devoted towards r religion due to fear that our respective god will curse or punish us, if we don't follow r rituals..we have ritulastic relationship with our god.
While in western countries they have personal relation with their god.
