The war against the algorithm wages on! Can we drop 500 likes on a Deathcore album?💯
The choir uses elevate this album to god-tier status
Agree man. I’m such a sucker for that
It’s one of the few recent albums that don’t use it as a cliche. Killer stuff!!
finally a full album reaction, bro i love brand of sacrifice, kyles a goddamn beast, whats next? fucking SHADOW OF INTENT???? LESS GOOOO
also, ruin has tyler shelton on it, vocalist of traitors, he is an absolute madman, he was on “behold the kingdom of the wretched undying” by infant annihilator, and i rlly liked his lows
he was the one who did the part before and during that said “oh how my father has taught, MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”
Mooooose vocals
this reaction has prompted me to watch the anime berserk, my homie has been telling me for a long time to watch it and literally within the first episode i can already see parallels to this album lmao
I’ve never got into Anime, not sure it’s my thing lol
@@DrewFortune97 Brand of Sacrifice is based on berserk, it's quite brutal, which probably isn't surprising if it inspires this kinda of music, that being said I still haven't watched all of it yet but it's on my watchlist
@@DrewFortune97the band name as well as both albums and their EP are ALL based on Berserk. The manga at least, not necessarily the anime
If you enjoyed this album I think you’d enjoy Shadow of Intent - Melancholy. A ton of melody and great riffs
Elegy too. Both albums slap hard with the choirs and melodies
And Chris from Currents is also a member of Shadow as well.
If this album peaked your interest the songwriter and guitarist of Currents has another band called Shadow of Intent, they're a symphonic deathcore band. Would love to see you listen to some of their stuff. My personal favourite is Reclaimer
Hahaha, I guess we can call this the happy accident of the Metalcore poll!
Well, if Drew likes this, maybe it’s finally time for him to get to Shadow of Intent? They’re the other riffy as hell Deathcore band with orchestral elements that would immediately come to mind if you enjoy this, and they’ve only incorporated it more as they’ve went on in their career. And they might also challenge that “this is as melodic as we’ll get on a Deathcore song” assumption. Hope to see them on the channel at some point!
One of the most exciting bands in deathcore, especially with their new song Exodus. Any time that choir comes in, you know it’s go time
Coming back for his video to say that I saw Brand Of Sacrifice at Christmas Burns Red in Pennsylvania saturday, and those little pauses are super noticable live. Breaks up the noise
All the features on this album absolutely riiiip. Honestly one of my favorite albums of all time and probably my favorite deathcore album tbh
About album's production:
Mastered - Mike Kalajian
Mixed - Jim Bloom
Vocals, Lyrics, Producer, Engineer - Kyle Anderson
well if you like metalcore you have probably heard "Darkbloom" by "We Came As Romans"... well "We Came As Romans" got "Brand of Sacrifice" to do a version in their style of that song and it's amazing. Highly recommend "We Came As Romans, Brand of Sacrifice - Darkbloom" it really SLAPS! :D
My kind of deathcore brother! Honestly this goes a lot harder than some deathcore albums out here haha. Maybe time to explore some more in the future? :)
It’s looking that way man! 👀
One of my all time favorite Deathcore albums, once again I love that you are one of the few reactors that actually posts full album reviews rather than making people pay to see them keep it up drew you are becoming one of my favorites!
Thank you bro❤️ occasionally I’ll do the Patreon plugs, purely because I want to be able to do this full time!
But when I can, I’ll post the full video🙏🏻
I went to a Whitechapel concert about 8 months ago and Brand of Sacrifice played. I hadn't heard of them until they were on stage, but really liked them, so I decided to buy merch . At their merch stands, they have Yu-Gi-Oh (dark magician girl and exodia from what I bought) based shirts and signed Pokemon shit, so I loved that. I looked up more of their stuff, and can't believe I hadn't heard of them before that concert!!!!! They're awesome live and they rock their merch stand.
If there is one deathcore record you would absolutly adore that came out this year, it would be Fit For An Autopsy - Oh What The Future Holds. If you havent heard it, you would love it
These cinematic choirs actually remainds me of The Da Vinci Code/Angels & Demons OST by Hans Zimmer!
Deathcore is King, friend. *KING*
Really though, it's a much more diverse genre than people give it credit for. You've got your weird and groovy like Brand of Sacrifice or Darko... got your blackened and symphonic like Lorna Shore or Worm Shepherd... got your melodic and epic like Shadow of Intent or Fit For An Autopsy... got your punch-you-in-the-face like Thy Art Is Murder or Suicide Silence... so on and so forth.
Also, you nailed it when you said, "there's nothing subtle about it".... that's deathcore, brother. If it were subtle and like every other metal and core sub-genre, I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as I do.
Nice to see you enjoy some quality Deathcore!
You should definitely do a reaction to Chelsea Grin's new album "Suffer in Hell", it's short and sweet (roughly 26 minutes) and it has the sickest grooves and riffs of 2022 all around (imo). Oh, and their vocalist is Tom Barber
I love the choir inclusions. Lorna Shores newest album also has some AMAZING choir parts. That album is a must listen if you enjoy deathcore/black metal/metalcore.
If you like this, there's a band a lot of people really overlook called "I, Valiance". They have a little something for everyone: techno, rap, groove/djent, and breakdowns that could level a city. Their EP "The Reject of Humanity" was practically unheard of levels of heavy back in 2015. It's still up there with the best even today!
I, Valiance fkin slaps man. "The Reject of Humanity" is still holds up today. I have never heard something like this in Deathcore.
Its so good to see other people show I, valiance love, one of the first bands other than osiah and vildhjarta that got me into metal
Wanna see you react to an album from The Browning. We can watch you headbang and dance haha
To answer your question about the mix, it's their guitarist Leo that's responsible for the mixing and mastering. These guys are completely independent and do everything themselves. Leo and the vocalist Kyle are also co-founders of a streetwear clothing brand called Shibori Threads, where they do merch collabs with various bands. Absolute beasts!!
Shibori threads has drip tho ive spent too much hooked on their merch
These guys and the new Slaughter to Prevail stand above the rest of deathcore to because of their choice to use groove. Their songs aren’t all just speed and brutality. They still have sections with you can hop your head and bounce too. It’s catchy, whilst still being stupidly heavy, which is a balance a lot of deathcore bands can’t find
Thanks Drew for doing this whole album!! ❤️❤️ It's up there in my top 20 of all time. It is just so much FUN and absolutely POUNDING at the same time!!
Dude the ending of ruin is so insanely heavy. Hands down the best breakdown i have ever heard
Since you loved the track ‘Vengeance’ with the more melodic elements I feel like you’d really like Hearts of a cowards - Deliverance album, Jamie Graham is the vocalist who features on this track and does the chorus. They have all the bouncy metalcore/djenty bangers with catchy choruses 🙌🏻
Most of the songs i find too chaotic and hard to follow but i love Vengeance and Lifeblood. Been bumpin those tracks since the album came out. These guys are from Toronto i think, ill be seeing them live if they ever come to Montreal.!
Shadow of intent next? :O
Dude!!! Thanks for reaction!!! 🤯🔥🤘
I would recommend putting "Enterprise earth - The chosen" in your next poll (if more people agree ofcourse)
It's heavy, but also melodic (clean chorusses etc)! Doesn't have much blastbeats! And every song is so different and interesting! Sounds perfect for you to be honest, even if deathcore isn't really your thing..
I’ve been requesting this one along with ‘Oh what the future holds’ for a while now.
@@joshforeman1648 both banger albums.. I went to a fit for an autopsy show this year and it killed me :)
I still think Enterprise earth would be a little bit more Drew's cup of thea
@@Haassus same man I saw them with Enterprise Earth and they both were insane.
I agree tbh I think EE’s Djenty influences would make him a fan but FFAA have that Gojira sound he may like too.
Approve of both of these albums
This band is amazing. Do Shadow Of Intent next!
For the hell of it, listen to the lifeblood version with will ramos. And their newest, exodus if you haven't.
If you’re gonna get into deathcore then Shadow of Intent is a must
Now you definitely have to check out „Reclaimer“ by Shadow of Intent ✌️
Kyle is crazy at being a vocalist, can go hella low, hella high, make sort of noises out in the universe. Beserk which is a manga really helped BOS be born. Yes Kyle is Canadian.
Yes Drew! I’m also very picky with my deathcore but the few bands I enjoy (including BoS) are in this same lane. There has to be another genre/band sound mixed with deathcore for me to enjoy it.
Another deathcore act I enjoy is Fit For An Autopsy, because dudes are heavily inspired by Gojira as for the last few years.
I love how you said some of the breakdowns hit like a freight train right before “Demon King”😂😂
Hi drew love the reactions, keep them going man, I would recommend the band Distant, one of the most brutal bands ive heard in a while.
Deathcore essential listening. 🤘Their new Single "Exodus" dropped last week had cleans. (Kyle Anderson is an insane singer aswell as one of the top Deathcore vocalists)
Dude, react to Oceans ate Alaska please! :)
YESSS LETS GO BRAND OF SACRIFICE ARE GOD TIER
If you like this absolute gem of an Album the new EP from Abbie Falls should be interesting for you, almost ep of the year for my part.
This was one of the albums of the year for me…
YES!!! shadow of intent - elegy next!
This band is so fucking good HOLY FUCK.
*The short instrumental tracks "Perfect World" and "Corridor Of Dreams" show the massive talents of Michael Leo Valeri [ Lead-Guitarist, Composer & Producer / BRAND OF SACRIFICE ]* 🎵👍🎵
🔥🔥🔥🎵🎸😈🎸🎵🔥🔥🔥
Time to segway to Shadow of Intent
Gotta do Lorna Shore - Immortal (enjoyable deathcore but also gives you the stank face). Think you would like Shadow of Intent as well.
I’ve seen them live 3 times now and lifeblood fucks so hard in person. For the last breakdown Kyle starts a wall of death and the last “lifeblood” before the instrumental only part is a blood curdling high. Last time I saw them Bodysnatcher played before and shadow of intent was after and they stole the show from them imo.
You couldn’t have picked a better deathcore album to review cuz this album is god tier ….
Since you liked the Ben duerr song so much, I think you would like their newer album Elegy.
Now check out the new song they just dropped exodus …god tier as usual
This is such a good album
vengeance is my fav song on this album? but lifeblood is a close second
Hey bro, you should check out CARNIFEX- SLOW DEATH. It's a pretty easy listening blackened deathcore album. The demon king approves!!!
you gotta do melancholy by shadow of intent
*You really should also react to BRAND OF SACRIFICE's new song "Exodus".* 🎵👍🎵
🔥🔥🔥 🎵🎸😈🎸🎵🔥🔥🔥
This sound,the soundtrack of berserk
do the new Chelsea grin album
How are you getting lyrics? They don’t show on my Spotify
i like rlly wanna hear
I am a professional wedding photographer/film maker for a living if you need help with the camera issues.
berserk band
React to some Tom Macdonald!
Some song suggestions:
Dear Rappers, Fake Woke, Clown World, People So Stupid, No Lives Matter, Sheeple, Fighters, Scars, Names.... basically any of his songs with Millions of views on RUclips.
@I Can't Think Of A Good Name So This Must Suffice
To each their own... Tom MacDonald is the most successful independent artist in music... plus his music tend to produce interesting reactions
Ah yes, the man with the coldest takes to ever exist
Drew, on behalf of people with good taste. Please don't.
💖 p̴r̴o̴m̴o̴s̴m̴
way too fast paced for me , hence not giving me time to appreciate the musicianship and becoming a MEH sounding album.
brand of sacrifice : exodus is the track you need to hear. just because :) its a mix of metal core and death metal
