This is such an ingenious MIDI device / augmentation method. The sky is the limit on the possibilities with such a dedicated, programmable MIDI processor.
Thanks, yes and - a bit experimental still - but you can now also compile in the browser so you don’t have to install the arduino ide + Java stuff to make your own DUY
Hello, I hope all is well, I want to use the Pioneer DJS-1000 as a midi controller for all of the korg Volcas. I need to be able to control every Volca, including the Modular, with the DJS. When using SCALE mode to play an external device from DJS-1000, each DJS pad/track transmits on a single Midi channel. Hence, every note triggered in scale mode is on a single channel. With the volca modular, it has a cv input and needs signal from a dual mono to stereo jack with each mono lead plugged into pitch and gate, respectively. Is all of this something I can accomplish with the rk008? Do I need to get the rk002 midi cables if using the rk008? If so, I've noticed they are sold with pre-installed settings. If I get cables for the sample, for example, will I be able to reprogram use with other volcas? Do I need to get all rk002 cables to make this work? Will I need to combine the rk008 with the 006 and have all 002 cables? Hopefully, this is the thing I've been looking for.
Got the RK002 yesterday, uploaded the firmware for the Volca Drum MIDI expansion....but it isn't working. I wish there was a video covering installation/Configuring/troubleshooting. Anybody out there who could help a brother out?
@@RetrokitsDev Well I got the software from the portal, and the web interface said I correctly loaded it. I am using a MOTU micro-lite for a MIDI hub. Is it not powered correctly? Thanks for responding!!
Hey Hi, I just bought the RK 002 and in the instructions says if I need to change the firmware installed by default when purchasing, I must use a MIDI interface to do it on the DUY portal, do you know if I can use the Nektar MIDIFLEX4 ? please let me know cause I see other options that says MIDI interface only like the miditech brand
I have a Korg 64 step and want the kontrol velocity pad and a midi guitar. My plan is for a volca sample, and a few battery operated korg synths. NTS, FM, Keys etc.
@@mobile513 maybe you can even use the step64 for changing the firmware to your needs, a monologue for example can also do the trick as a usb midi interface

can't wait for that RK008!

This is great! Do drum sounds on Sample react to velocity?
Yes with the RK002 in between they do
@@RetrokitsDev awesome, thanks!
Neato!
This is brilliant!

Did you use the RK002/DUY portal? What interface did you use?

I am not all convinced Ihave it configured correctly. 😕

The nektar looks like it could handle sysex and midi power but we have no user reports on it.

Do you think guys the minilogue bass from korg can do the trick as well ? I mean use this synth as MIDI interface
@@Polarityshifter I have good hopes for that yes , but am not 100% sure - let me know if it does 😊
