I owned the MK1, got bored of it and sold it. I slept in the MK2 for too long, this is a massive improvement, not just the 6 note polyphony (the original had just 3) but the extra features such as the proper MIDI in/out with velocity possible over MIDI, the excellent sounding reverb and the refined look and feel is much better too! This little groovebox is such a winner!
Best teacher !!, my lenguage its spanish but I understand you better cos the way you do,not so technical, I got volca fm today 1st time in my life, thank you a lot
Awesome tutorial! I bought this thing about 6 months ago and it sat around and I was like how tf do I use this, and this video at least got me started. Thank you! Buying you a coffee man
This is definitely the right way to do a synthesizer tutorial. Thanks a lot 👍👍👍 I would give you three thumbs up, if I only had a third thumb 😂 Apart from jokes, thanks again 💚
about the Level Scaling ...all of you out there : with Algorithm 3 or 4 , you can devide your keybord and have one sound on the left , another on the right , and even a third one somewhere in the middle or as a soft background sound across the board ; it just takes a bit of practice to get there . Happy programming to you all !
Man, you are my super hero. This what are you doing is absolutely fantastic🤘😝🤘 You're 🤘rock on🎉 Great channel, great job for Artuia staff. I'm at the beginning of journey with synth and you blown the wind into the sail. Waiting for Artuia minifreak 😁
duuuuuude !!! thank you so much for this video - amazing work.. you've helped me a lot to to make the right choices and to understand the real potential of this "black whole" of sounds 🤤 keep on doing what you're doing. because you're great at it 💯 peace yo
I want to thank you for your work! From all synths that you did, literally I have only Korg Wavestate, but I didn’t watch it yet, because I’m not using it that much. But anyway, you did tremendous job and I’m gonna watch it one day. But in addition to that I bought Korg MS20, ARP Odyssey and MiniMoog Model D apps for iPad and I learned how to use ARP Odyssey thanks to your video! Now I’m learning how to use MS20 app with your video and later I’m gonna learn MiniMoog Model D with your tutorial for Behringer Poly D. Now I see that they are pretty basic synths and I don’t need all of them. I like ARP Odyssey because it has more modulation possibilities than MiniMoog, but I don’t know why Korg discontinued ARP Odyssey mini. For MiniMoog Model D (or Behringer Poly D) even without tutorial I see it’s very basic synth. I don’t know about all possibilities about about MS20, I came just to half of video. My issue with mono synths is that they don’t have presets, except Sequential Pro 3. The most of all, I wish if you could do a tutorial about Hydrasynth. But it’s complex synth and I know you would have to put a lot of work, almost like for Korg Wavestate. So thank you very much for everything! Synth companies should sponsor you, because you are making them huge favor.
just got this but the lack of flux mode kills the power of the fm, from what i can tell, fm should allow you a lot of feel over the sound.. but with quantizing, that becomes frustrating
does the velocity slider on FM 2 send velocity CC on the midi out? im wanting this to arppegiate and midi control velocity on a yamaha QY70 with the slider
Hey man thanks for the video, do you know which cable I have to buy to connect this to my audio interface and record from the headphone out like you're doing? Thanks!
Bummer… I have the old version of the Volka fm.. the lesson still applies for the most part.. but my #1 voice is different and I don’t have built in reverb.. there are probably other differences I haven’t found yet.. like midi in/out (I only have in)
If someone is trying this with an FM it will not work, because the patches are different. On the FM's first program's first operator's OSCN is set to 01 FIXED. Set it to 00 RATIO like seen in the video, and you will hear the sine wave from there :) @@XNBeatsMusic

It took a while for me to realize this was the FM2.
Bravissimo 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻
fantastic video! Is portamento slide on this device?
nice job, thanks
If you change a patch, I've not been able to figure out how to rename it?
Anybody have links to the editors he talks about at the end of the video?

My LFOD seems inverted than yours? Am I doing something wrong?
does the velocity slider on FM 2 send velocity CC on the midi out? im wanting this to arppegiate and midi control velocity on a yamaha QY70 with the slider
Great 😊 thanks for that
Hey man thanks for the video, do you know which cable I have to buy to connect this to my audio interface and record from the headphone out like you're doing? Thanks!
The audio output is a 3.5mm stereo mini jack -> see www.korg.com/us/products/dj/volca_fm2/specifications.php
Thanks! Fucking love this guide. I appreciate your hard work :)

When Pattern Chaining, Are you able to Chain more than 2 Patterns?
🔥
👍
roland aira soon? :)
Don't know about that. I'll have to get the gear first and roland is rare in my country.
@@XNBeatsMusic depending on where you people could send you them?
btw. this is fm2. not fm or?
Yes FM 2. But it's pretty much the same

Great tutorial as always mate ✌🏽👍🏼
Looks like Volca FM2 has LFO bugs that are fixed in FM1 unofficial firmware...
Ok...
FM2
Yes, it's FM 2. But it doesnt affect the guide. Works for both.
Anybody have links to the editors he is talking about at the end of the video?
