A wonderfully varied trail starting off with the lakes of Killarney, the Black Valley and its mountains then on to the coast passing through some great towns. At times a tough but rewarding hike. Well done, hope the cough didn't detract from the experience. Great advice as well. The easiest way is to let someone take your luggage and organise your accommodation!😉

Thanks it really was wonderful and even better looking back 😉. Understand about the luggage transfer but always feels a bit like cheating. Hope to do the Camino one day. Maybe be in touch then.

My wife and I walked this in July of '23. It was fun to relive it through your work. Great job on the video!

We did it in 2016 and are hoping to come back with some friends and do it again this June. I'm glad other people cut some of the daily mileage shorter. Its hard on older people! But i absolutely loved the first trip and hope the second one is just as good!

Liked the video thank you. We are going to do the walk in June. Any advice on footwear? Did you use waterproof hikers or just counted on drying them out overnight? Cheers from Canada

Thanks Jack. I wore some Scarpa leather/goretex walking boots and my wife wore Berghaus synthetic/goretex boots. It was very boggy in places so we were glad we had these but even so they still got wet mainly when we did not put on our waterproofs on time and the rain ran down into the tops of the boots. We were lucky the bnb's we stayed in had newspaper to dry them from the inside (not many people take physical papers these days) otherwise we would have had wet feet the following morning. We did our walk in September 2023 after a pretty wet summer. You maybe more fortunate. All the best to you for your trip.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. We booked all the accommodation as we went along mainly via booking.com. we went in early September outside of the schools holidays so we found availability was ok. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

What time did you arrive at Lord Brandon’s cottage to be the last customers?

Hi there, I think it was about 4:15. It was a wet Sunday afternoon and there were not many people about. Maybe they stay open longer if it is busy? 😊
