I love the tip with the duct tape! What a nail saver! I’m also SO SO happy that I didn’t invest in a misti. I’ve been stamping for over 30 years, and there have been other ways to precisely place your stamps. That’s what I did, rather than waste my money on a Misti, which seemed absurdly expensive. When the Tim Holtz version came out though, I snatched it up quickly. It was affordable, and what a great way to create my Holiday Cards consistently. So sad that the Misti lady had to create such chaos over these tools. There’s room in this world for sharing and improvements. I will never give that Misty lady my business. Anyone who monopolizes an industry is just plain greedy in my opinion. I refuse to feed their egos. YAY for HEDGEHOG HOLLOW, Tim Holtz, Tonic Studios, and Ranger Products!! ❤️❤️❤️
As an international purchaser, we are very happy to see this tool. The 'other' brand was very cost prohibitive to ship and then get hit with import fees and VAT just made it crazy. This one is very competitively priced and also works with the corners. Brilliant! 😍 Thanks for the idea of using the teflon mat too. Hadn't seen that 'hack' yet. 😊
Your tip on using duct tape rather than washi tape or masking tape on the magnets is a very good one. Hopefully, everyone can learn from my mistake. I purchased one of those long rectangular magnets, & I had masking tape on it to help me pick it up. One day, I didn't need it in my Misti, so I stuck it onto my metal filing cabinet, which is right next to my work space. BIG MISTAKE! When I went to retrieve it, the masking tape tore and the magnet did not want to release from the cabinet. Long story later, I eventually was able to pry it off of the filing cabinet without breaking it (Whew). So, two hints if anyone else ever does something similar. 1) Use something stronger than washi tape or masking tape on your magnets. 2) If you do place your magnet onto another surface, make sure it hangs off the edge slightly so you can simply pull it off of the object without having to pry it.
I just purchase the Time Holtz travel stamping platform....I am totally over the moon with it....money well spent!! Thanks Tim!!! Makes stamping so.much.more fun....highly recommend it 😁😁😁
I love how you addressed how much better acrylic stamps work with a little foam underneath. I've been saying that for 10 years, but not a lot of the "professionals" ever use or talk about it.
First time with you, watching your many 🤓 videos & cant stop 😜. Your vids are easily heard, not dragged out, your voice is so pleasant and NOT annoying😘 . Very nice to meet you Hedgehog Hollow 😁 I second the foam mat for stamping. I was lucky enough to learn it from a professional and now it is second nature for me to stamp on foam. BTW, I’d like to thank 👍🏻❤️ my professional teacher 👩🏫 for instilling me with great habits & techniques since the beginning. Thank you very much (🆙 above) Carol Horton!
really? hm. i've always heard the pro's talk about using a 'pad' or something under the sheet of paper you are stamping onto when using acrylic stamps. i've actually never heard the newbies talk about it enough. it's like it's not become an across the board knowledge. i wish it was, kind of like "if you want to create art that mom likes, don't do it on the WALL" lol... it's just a thing we all know, ya know? cuz idk HOW many times i've messed up a project cuz i forget to use a foam pad under my paper when stamping. :/ ugh. THEN i learned that tidbit and went "ohhhh".. i STILL forget cuz i don't use ALL my gajillion stamps enough. :/ but i'm workin' on THAT part! :)
I love that you can use the MISTI corners!! I can't wait to order my Tim Holtz stamp press!! I don't have a MISTI bcuz I just couldn't afford it!! Way too expensive. I am so excited that Tim has finally released his stamping tool! Alexandra thank you so much for your wisdom. I just love you so much! Hugs💜💜💜😉👏👏🙌😢💞💐
I've only been using stamps for a short while and always had problems using them. Need to get one of these to make my life a lot easier. Thanks on sharing.
If I could, I would give Tim Holtz and Tonic Studios a great big hug for designing such a terrific stamping tool. It is an absolute thing of beauty, and works just as well as the Misti that costs more than twice the amount. actually, I would say the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform is an improvement on the original concept. I'll likely never need to stamp a project that measures 16"x16", but I can do just that with this tool if need be. It's really sturdy, too! I can now stamp my 6x6 background stamps with ease and precision, and without breaking the bank to do so! I will, however, probably buy the Misti Creative Corners. They are a great idea at a price I can live with.
Just got mine ... came home for a long day & just had to play ... loving it!!! Love the idea about craft mat ... I'll be cutting my down ... thank you for sharing your ideas!
Great tips. I had gotten mine a couple months ago, but couldn't 'play' with it until today. I was glad to have found this video - very helpful! Particularly LOVED the tip about how to move the card around so you could position it exactly where needed. Was trying to do a tri-fold card that involved three stamps, and was having a fit! Thank you!
Thank you for all of your tips on how to use and clean my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. You have really been very helpful. I got a lot of new ideas as to what kind of crafts I can accomplish with this wonderful tool .
I just got mine today and it's so much fun. Was getting frustrated with stamping where I had to double stamp for clarity. No worries now. Great idea using the duct tape for the magnets. Good tips. Thank you
great review. For some reason I purchased the 12 x12 Misti but think I want this one so I don't have to remember to do anything but flip the lid. LOL. First time I have seen anyone explain about the tape on the magnets although I have seen it used many times. Thank you so much.
the tape around the magnet helps pick the magnet up. I used washie tape and wrapped it but kept a "tab" on it so it was easier to use. You will understand once you tri to pick up that magnet up a few times! Hope this helps.
My Tim Holtz Stamp Platform was shipped on Friday...!! Looking forward to having it in my hands! I, too, have the small MISTI and it is too small for some techniques... And the TH Stamp Platform is bigger and less expensive than the small MISTI... I trust it will prove to be the last stamp platform I ever need...!!
I didn't purchase the Misti because of it being so high priced, but the TH was not only less expensive but was a TH tool to boot! I've never regretted my purchase and I bet you don't either!!!
I just got mine a few days ago after it was backordered early in the year. I can't wait to use it. Thank You for your tips on using it. I appreciate it.
Alexandra, thank you so much for sharing all these awesome tips for using Tim's stamp platform! I managed to get mine ordered from Scrapbook.com before they sold out, I still don't know how I was able to accomplish that but hey, I got it and can't wait for it to arrive! I never got on the misti bandwagon but after seeing some of the other ones that came afterwards really had me intrigued so I was thrilled to see Tim developed his version. Thanks again, I'm going to find you on hedgehog hollow and follow you for more tips! Have a wonderfully blessed creative day! Sheryl
Wonderful tips! I really like my new Tim Holtz Stamping Platform! I am going to cut a sheet of my foam to use with some of my clear stamps which tend to be shallower than others. Thanks for a good lesson!
Love the idea of the duct tape. A less expensive solution to cleaning would be to use hand sanitizer from the dollar store, a little tip from Tim Cheryl
have the misti but it limits me on size have wanted this since I saw Tim demo you have more great tips and it is not a cheap knock off version of Misti it is an improved version of stamp pad
Just received my Tim Holtz Stap Platform and was worried what to do first. Oh so helpful, got fun foam and the teflon sheet. So i just need to get on with it, right? Loved all of your hints they makes me feel more at home now. Thanks so much.
Hi. Thank you so very much. Just found your videos. Thank you so very much. Usually watch utube just on my phone at home. Not at home just now. Amazing video watching utube on a TV. I bought one of these recently. Was finding it hopeless. Like stamp on door was reaching my card stock. Even although proper stamp for proper door. I got foam with mine. I asked Facebook crafty friends. What I was doing wrong. They suggested using two foam sheets. Helping a little. But putting me off trying. I see you didn't use foam at all under card stock?? Sorry for long story. And thank you again you are so clear and precise for me to learn. Much appreciated
Thanks for the tutorial...Can't wait for my platform to arrive. It should be coming into the store where I purchased online next week...so I think I'll have it sooner than soon!!! Then I can stow away my acrylic blocks...yeah!!!
My platform never printed across the image constantly- it always gave a patchy result especially in the middle... I tried everything but never got a clean result like with the Misti. Was it a fault platform? I gave it away but wished it had worked... I wonder if a 2mm foam would have "helped?" But if it doesn't need it - shouldn't have to resort to adding extra stuff...?
Great tips!! My platform arrived a few days ago after waiting what... 6 months.. LOL! It was worth the wait tho.. super excited to play. I am glad I watched this first tho.. I will be purchasing a mat.. have needed one anyway.. hmmm... i better get two... ;) .. I LOVE the tape on the magnets tip! I need that pink with white polka dot tape tho... I have tape.. but that one is much cuter.. and as we all know.. cuteness counts! thanks again... Awesome video... cheers! :D
I don't see a link for the black foam & I couldn't understand the size or thickness I should buy or where to get it... Would you make that clear for me, Pls...I just purchased this platform online even though it's been discontinued. Thank you so much for a wonderful tutorial on using this platform with diff't stamps.... :)
what do you put on the red rubber to allow it to stick to the top of the plastic? It has a very sticky side when you attach them to a wood block, or nothing if you buy red rubber that has no sticky attached.
I truly enjoyed this video about explaining this product. Since I did purchase it , this was a lot of help. Can you please tell me where you purchase the black foam from that you cut to fit the stamp platform?
It is plain old craft foam. Sometimes you can find it at the dollar store and cut it down or Hobby Lobby and Michaels craft stores, in the crafting section.

Good demonstration! I watched a Tim Holtz stamp press clip today and he said alcohol hand gel removes Sta-zon too - and it does work!
I really loved your demo for the platform. That's a great idea, cutting the craft mat and using it on platform. I love that idea!👍💕
I just purchase the Time Holtz travel stamping platform....I am totally over the moon with it....money well spent!! Thanks Tim!!! Makes stamping so.much.more fun....highly recommend it 😁😁😁
I can't wait until I get my Tim holtz stamp press I'm thrilled that I waited and didn't buy the other brand I'd much prefer to support Tim
Just received mine yesterday from Scrapbook.com!! As someone who has carpel tunnel AND arthritis, I am really happy with my purchase!
Patti R happy stamping!
Excellent tutorial! Sometimes it's hard to figure out how to use the tools you have and get the best results! This was super helpful! Thank you,
I love how you addressed how much better acrylic stamps work with a little foam underneath. I've been saying that for 10 years, but not a lot of the "professionals" ever use or talk about it.

White Rose Blossom enjoy!
Very helpful; taping the magnet and the foam sheet especially. TFS
This is one of the most helpful videos ever. I bought the Tim Holtz models, in some ways I was disappointed. Your "hacks" really work.
Thanks for the ideas - the foam underneath for acrylic stamps and the non-stick craft mat insertion to keep the surface clean.
Glad these are finally available after the unfortunate delay.
Thank you so much. I've just brought the Tim Holtz stamping platform. I'm so excited to use it. That's a great tutorial and very helpful and useful.
I just got mine today and it's so much fun. Was getting frustrated with stamping where I had to double stamp for clarity. No worries now. Great idea using the duct tape for the magnets. Good tips. Thank you

One more question, what product was the foam product used under the paper for using very detailed stamps?
My Tim Holtz Stamp Platform was shipped on Friday...!! Looking forward to having it in my hands! I, too, have the small MISTI and it is too small for some techniques... Great idea to cover the magnets with tape, so much easier to pick them up.
Thank you for sharing 🙂 I guess I want this one glade I waited
ANOTHER STELLAR VIDEO!!! THANK YOU !!
Thank you for all the great tips. I wondered about how it would work with unmounted rubber or photopolymer stamps without a foam mat.
Daria C. It works fine, it's personal preference for me it's speeds up the process and not all stamps are the same thickness, this helps with that too
Thank you.
Would you mind linking me to the foam for the platform? I want to make sure I buy the right foam.
Thanks for all the great tips.
Thank you for all the great tips
charlsie smith you're so welcome thanks for watching

Much appreciated
omg i LOVE your idea of wrapping your magnets in duct tape so they are easy to grab! :)

great intel on the product. thank you
Thanks for the tutorial...Can't wait for my platform to arrive. It should be coming into the store where I purchased online next week...so I think I'll have it sooner than soon!!! Then I can stow away my acrylic blocks...yeah!!!

Great video. I like your suggestion of using duct tape to make the magnets easier to lift off the platform's surface. Thanks!
Great Tips, Thank you!
Love the polka dot duct tape. Great idea. Thanks.
Thank you for the technics shown
My platform never printed across the image constantly- it always gave a patchy result especially in the middle... I tried everything but never got a clean result like with the Misti. Was it a fault platform? I gave it away but wished it had worked... I wonder if a 2mm foam would have "helped?" But if it doesn't need it - shouldn't have to resort to adding extra stuff...?
Great info video.... Big thanks!!!!!
Becca M thanks for stopping by!
I pre ordered way back in Feb? Mine will be delivered tomorrow! Should be great for my Julie Nutting stamps!

I would like to know where to find the black foam as well. Please let us know!
It is plain old craft foam. Sometimes you can find it at the dollar store and cut it down or Hobby Lobby and Michaels craft stores, in the crafting section.
Thank you for your tips was. Did not know aboutr the fun foam or the teflon sheet. I do want to try it. where can i get the teflon craft sheet . I live in Ontario
