I just bought a Tim Holtz Platform. I love it. Went to my local Joann's and bought a piece of craft foam for about 0.59¢. Cut it to fit and it works wonderfully. Thanks for this great video.
This was a life saver for me ....works amazing ! I am using in my Tim Holtz Platform so awesome not to use magnets anymore ..no more slipping of paper or magnets attaching to each other........ Thank you so much !
You all probably dont care but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Kylo Fabian Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
can you clean the ink off the sticky sheet without losing the stickiness? If so, how? I often use stamps which are larger than the card so ink gets on the platform/mat. Thanks
I agree, a little frustrating because I've been checking Scrapbook.com every week for the larger grid sheets...doesn't seem like they'll ever be in stock! But I love this tip!!
Very interesting. I've never heard of this product before. Thanks for sharing. BTW I love your paper storage below your counter top and above your drawers (background in video). Is that something you could share...product name etc.? It just looks like such a convenient storage area, saving room on counter top for more goodies. :D
I am also a big fan of the sticky grid paper. I do have a bit of a problem . . . that I emboss most everything that I stamp and I have more than once gotten just a few sprinkles of the embossing powder onto my sticky paper and it pretty much stops the sticky part where ever that little sprinkling is. Of course I keep trying not to let any more embossing powder get on it but I’m wondering if you have any ideas of how to maybe put the sticky back in the sticky?
you can use some of the cricut mat tips to get your stick back; also be sure to remove you paper close you misti and them apply embossing powder to avoid as much contamination as possible
That looks great. I always thought it would be way too sticky and tear cardstock. Do you think it works on all cardstock or does it have to be like all the really heavy weight ones?
I have a Brother Scan N Cut.....I think everyone can agree the cutting mats are terrible.....I wonder if we could use these sticky sheets to "tile" over the actual cutting mat to extend the life and save some money......it's worth a try right?
Thanks for that tip. I am looking forward to trying this. I'm sure by summer it will be available. One question do you know if you can use this for dies in a cutting machine to hold them in place?
No I leave it on there, you can if you want to and put it back on the release paper or i have one i use for stencils and i stick it to the edge of my drawers and pull it up and down as i need it
Because sadly, MISTI sued them for copying their product even though It has different features and the outcome was that the TH platform could no longer be sold in the US. Still available everywhere else though.
@@fionaleonard7246 no more manufacturing for sale in the US. Those already on the market in the US can still be sold. Several places are still selling them. Once those have been depleted, no more.
Thanks so much for all your wonderful videos and tips. I realize you did this video back in February, but I’m wondering if you can use the sticky grid sheets with craft foam underneath it? I don’t have the sheets yet and don’t know if sheets will stick to the foam. Regardless, i think not having to use the magnets would be worth giving up the foam. Thanks again and absolutely love your channel!
How does it hold when you are using ink, because after stamping with ink when I lift the top, thats when the magnets do not hold. How does the sticky grid hold the paper when lifting the top after stamping with ink?
it has to be temporary adhesive the double sided adhesive sheets designed for die cutting are permanent and would just stick and ruin your paper and mouse mat
I’ve been checking Scrapbook.com and clicking notification since I first saw your first video on them. I literally check in almost everyday and always check my emails. The only ones they have had come in are the 2.5” ones. I’ve been shopping scrapbook.com for years and I don’t remember them ever having so many “out of stock” items. I’ve also been sourcing Simonsaysstamp and Ellen Hutson. I will take Lynn Griffin’s advice and check Hobby Lobby! Thanks for the help Alexandra and Lynn!
@@HedgehogHollow Oh lord I forgot to ask about the size! I have Tim's full size platform.... Will all this still work? BTW, thank you so much for helping this ol' gal discover what to do with all the wonderful the paper crafting toys!!!! You are the bomb!! #olddogsnewtricks LOL
Hedgehog Hollow I always think the Stamparatus’ extra plate would be really helpful for stamping multi layered stamps, or for using two stamps on the same card. Is it easy to do multi layered stamps on the Tim H Platform?
I think you mean masking, you could but it would be an expensive way to do it, but the top would be sticky too which wouldnt be ideal so id suggest post its, eclipse tape etc
Thanks for this tutorial. Upgrade installed! Blessings
Thanks for the tips. I have three Tim Holtz Platforms and I cannot imagine ever using another.
I use the top piece to cover and keep clean, remove when ready to use. Love not having to use magnets. No residue on back of card

I got my package and really like it. keep it covered with the paper that covers it. I have mine in my Tim Holtz Platform.
So you put a piece of paper over the sticky grid and leave it in the platform after stamping? Thank you.
Love, love love the Tim Holtz platform. I have been wondering about using the sticky grid so much thanks for this tutorial

I just got this, checking out how it works. I am planning on using it in my MISTI.

I would love to see how you store your embossing powders. I need ideas.
Theres a two minute tip on the channel :-)
Thanks for the tip.
This is awesome and my next purchase, thanks for sharing x

I have the MISTI, the Stampin Up one; but I still wish I could get the Tim H. one.
I have a link to one with limited stock still in the USA
Scrapbook.com still has it for an excellent price!
With the sticky mat in place do you not use the foam mat anymore?
Wow! I really need this! We all do!!?
Great tip but the larger sticky grid sheets are hard to find. I signed up to be notified when they are back in stock from scrapbook.com.
Disappointed that they’ve discontinued in N. America, I have the travel size and was thinking of the larger one eventually
I agree, a little frustrating because I've been checking Scrapbook.com every week for the larger grid sheets...doesn't seem like they'll ever be in stock! But I love this tip!!

Colleen Craig did you try it?
Thanks for that tip. I am looking forward to trying this. I'm sure by summer it will be available. One question do you know if you can use this for dies in a cutting machine to hold them in place?
Yes, thats what it was originally designed for I just found this was also really handy!
Do you take the sticky sheet off of the platorform after each use? How do you store it? Thank you.
No I leave it on there, you can if you want to and put it back on the release paper or i have one i use for stencils and i stick it to the edge of my drawers and pull it up and down as i need it
Why is the Tim Holtz platform discontinued in the US?

I would just use masking tape around the edges to prolong the life, it is the same in the MISTI, but yes it does stick
How does it hold when you are using ink, because after stamping with ink when I lift the top, thats when the magnets do not hold. How does the sticky grid hold the paper when lifting the top after stamping with ink?
It holds much better than magnets
So, any double sided sticky sheet would work, if you weren’t fussed about the grids. Although, you can buy sheets that are see through.
it has to be temporary adhesive the double sided adhesive sheets designed for die cutting are permanent and would just stick and ruin your paper and mouse mat

I finally got an “in stock notice” on Ellen Hutson. Thank you Ellen! :)
My TH Platform works better with a thin piece of foam thus I have installed 1/8" black FunFoam. Will the sticky grid install neatly over the FOAM??
Yes absolutely I would stick it down those for the longest installation
@@HedgehogHollow Oh lord I forgot to ask about the size! I have Tim's full size platform....

Yes absolutely, if you want the whole area covered just tile two together will work perfectly!
Good tip. But my paper curls afterwards, doesn’t tear just curls
you can curl it back over your bone folder or run it through your die cutter with no dies
❤️
Do you ever use the stamparatus?
I have one but i must admit i never use it

Would Stick It work the same way or is that too sticky?
No stick it is too sticky and would damage your paper
