It seems like based on the documentary that JYP and other producers really sat down with the Itzy members and tried to craft an album based on interviews with the girls. It reminds me of Feel Special with Twice. I’m all about companies creating music that fits the personalities and style of the members.
I really agree with the people here. The only reason I hate some malicious fans of ITZY is because they say the same thing as a handful of anties trying to undermine ITZY. ITZY has never fallen. ITZY is still doing their best, breaking records every time they come back. The only objective thing they say is that they haven't made a comeback in eight months. You don't deserve to be a fan if that minimum of patience doesn't exist.
Honestly, as K-pop fans, I think we're spoiled when it comes to music releases. Like, people will start to panic when a group/soloist hasn't released music in 6 months. Meanwhile, in the western music industry, an artist can not release music for 2 or 3 years, and no-one will really bat an eye. Due to the K-pop industry overworking Idols, we are now spoiled and impatient.
there's one thing I learned about this music industry is there is no such thing as "bad songs" it's just a matter of preference you know what I mean? like music/songs are created to reached out to people's souls and if it doesn't reach you then it's not for you
When Itzy debuted, they came out strong with their love yourself teen crush dance centric vibe. This album seems to be their softer more vocal centric era and I for one am here for it.
I just feel like this concept fits them so well. I think JYPE has struggled to find the right concept for them. And relaxed cool girl vibes or the cool girl next door is the perfect vibe for them. I hope they knock it out of the park with the official comeback track.

This is probably so good to listen because every verse sounds different, and the chorus part, even though the lyrics are the same, they completely sound different from each other. All parts of the song sounds interesting and not boring because every part is unexpected.

Cheshire, Bet On Me, None of My Business, and most b-sides within the last year have been on par if not better than Itzy's earlier discography, but people love to claim that the sheer existence of Sneakers and sometimes Boys Like You inherently means they've fallen off. And I get why people don't like those songs, they're not for me either, but one or two songs don't mean a group aren't that good anymore. And I notice there's a big disconnect between k-fans and i-fans in regards to Sneakers, cuz that's one of Itzy's best performing songs in South Korea.

If we’re gonna talk numbers, Checkmate and Cheshire are both million-selling albums so no, they’re not falling. They break their own records every comeback. They’re just not getting as viral as the newer groups. What’s sad is that some kpop stans love to drag them to praise their new faves, comparing the newer groups’ accomplishments as rookies to Itzy’s who debuted in 2019 when kpop wasn’t as mainstream as today.

Misamo is a Japanese release, so it's not going to get the same amount of promotion as a Korean release, Jihyo is coming out in mid-August and NMIXX came out earlier this month and promoted for a couple weeks before ITZY will start their stuff.
