Since i first heard this great lady in 1979, she has been a constant star whenever I've lost my way …. when she and budgie toured this album to my hometown in melbourne, australia she played to a lesser hall with a bunch of young goths bouncing around …. there were a group of us old diehards who knew what we were seeing …. any other time this tune would have sent her spinning into the grammy awards … but this exterminating angel was always meant for greater things xoxo bless her, a young man's fancy, an old man's dream ….

Got lucky enough to see them when they came thru Nashville on that tour. Siouxsie and Budgie were most excellent, especially signing autographs after the show.
You can feel their history as musicians and all the styles they covered in the past but rehashed as some trance with that new wave feel that makes it sound kinda like industrial but brings you on another level. Truly inspired by this. ^^

Because sadly in modern times dominated by monotheistic religions with a male or usually portrayed as male god, the word "goddess" doesn't have the same ring to it as "god", and doesn't seem to bring as much respect as it should.

Budgie is a master percussionist. Apparently Siouxsie hired him for the Banshees because he did not try to show off during auditions and just played the songs. Check out pretty much anything from the album Hai if you like drums and interesting/complex rhythm. BTW: Pity (on the album Boomerang) is one of the prettiest songs ever IMO. So this is what you get when you mix Siouxsie and Juno Reactor. This is insanely beautiful yet genuinely terrifying, and the imagery it evokes is so powerful, makes me think of the kind of angels that were in Old Testament and in Neon Genesis Evangelion rather than the usual people with wings, and also visions of what makes the usual ideas of the end of the world seem like just another rainy day. I really want to have nightmares after listening to this. This whole album isn't just awesome, it is comletely fucking awesome and buy it if you ever come across it.
