Bingo. Frequently wearing tall socks kills hair follicles and results in thin and uneven leg hair. It just looks bad. So, some of these guys just shave it all off.
The only reason i can think make sense is that its fucking annoying and itchy when the blades of grass get stuck. Easier to wash off and sweat them off if its clean shaved
Why aren't you watching that female league or women's fifa or whatever it's called? It's just disrespectful that females are watching football at a far superior level to theirs.
Leg hairs will help u to get less injured plus When players tackel aggressively u will get cuts or bruises but Leg hairs lessen the impact or pain tbh This is my opinion
@@CL-fg5ne yes that is true, but that will depend on how hairy your body is, and it would also increase your temperature, which will make you slower as well, those things when looking into a sprint, will mean probably half a second or so, but take in account that you will not sprint only one time during a game and you will basically be running every few moments, there may be a difference in cause of that
Funny thing is there are studies that hair actually helps with absorbtion of impact. So by removing their hair it just makes them more prone to injuries.
Im a stepson of a prof football player and just to make it clear, he answered the same question with a simple: sometimes i need parts shaven for massage or to stick the injury tape and then it just looks stupid with like a square of hairs shaven, so i just shaved it all off
I will actually share an experience I had, I once got a nasty tackle burn I had hairy legs then after a few days it got infected even tho I took care of it, long story short the doctor told me to shave my legs if im a footballer cause it makes infections Harder to stick and cuts easier to clean. Also the tape part is true.
It’s more a cultural thing among the footballers than any of these reasons… It’s like coming with a suite to an interview. Why we do any of the things we do? You follow society norms and patterns… footballers shaving their legs it’s a norm for all of them
If anything hairs help on tackles cause they reduce friction. And I'm pretty sure you're not gonna notice pain from hair being "pulled or twisted" if you're an experienced athlete. If I had to guess shaving could be to make ball controll easier by increasing friction
I tried shaving my legs once, had so many razor burns/ red pimples that I still regret it to this day doing this. Thankfully they went away around 2 weeks after the shaving, but at the same time, all the hair just grew back, that's why the redness "went away"
They do it so knee-socks do not disturb also , hairly legs = fuck ton of transpiration = huge discomfort , and the tape or when they get an injury to be easier for a plaster to be applied
Also when you wear socks it’s mad uncomfortable if the socks are tugging on your hairs when you’re slide tackling or taking the socks off. I agree w the comments aesthetically it’s more pleasing as well but a lot of you don’t play proper football if you don’t kno these problems
