Excellent, take, I feel the ending of the trilogy of albums is the perfect time for change. It's lending to a rebirth and more color in the area that Sleep(the diety) inhabits. I see sleep as a double-edged sword with both dreams and nightmares. The masks remind me a little bit of both aspects that sleep can manifest.

The Take Me Back To Eden album talked a lot about learning to let go. I feel like this is something like Vessel and the band learning to let go of the Sleep identity but not completely, that's why they're now more human, more distinguishable, because they're not just any follower of Sleep, now they're learning to be themselves again, like, maybe the new songs from now on will have this topic in them or something like that.
I was thinking about that exact same thing you mentioned in the first part of your response. I feel like this is a signal of an evolution TMBTE was like closing the book on that chapter of vessel and the bands worship to sleep. I’m along for the ride wherever it goes.

I love the new masks. I am a new sleep token fan and infact I am a new metal fan thanks to Sleep Token. I love how different they are and how mysterious they are and the different type of genres they embed into their music.
The new masks for me are going to be a teaser for the next story/album. We notice subtle changes in Vessels masks but will we now see something bigger? Who knows but I am excited for it!

I love their sound....so i do hope they dont move too far away from that. The sound they have now is what makes them unique and i hope they continue down the same path music wise, but with a new story to tell....i dont really fancy the masks as they seem more like something from a horror movie, but im here for the music and when it comes down to it i wouldnt care if they were naked or in spacesuits as long as the music rocks.

I think it was a weird time to drop the new look. It's out of context in the sense that we have no reference for this change minus a couple of vague statements. However, that is what the band has done all along, making shifts that no one truly expects. I would just tell fans to be patient and stay open-minded; everything they do, down to the smallest detail has its purpose for the bigger picture and we will see that soon enough.
What do you mean? They just finished the main legs of their tour for the new album. They're looking toward the future now. It seems like a good time to turn that page.
This is a great perspective of the band. Sadly, sometimes us #Metalhead (not me) tend to be close minded and gatekeeping. I guess Im an older Metalhead because something new within the overall metal community is always a good thing in my view. I mean if you view Sam Dunn’s metal evolution chart, there are many sub genres within metal itself. I personally have no problem with the new ST masks. My hope is they stay around for a while. 🤘🙂🤘
People have a right to their opinion, and tastes. Although, i feel its disrespectful to show negativity when theyre well aware no one can control ST's image or music
Heard that Vessel did not perform his best at Wembley stadium. Was also the bands new look debut. Maybe sleep was not pleased with this change as it pulled away from their initial endeavor and so in return, left its vessel unsailed that night. I am just surmising based on what I understand of the lore, but it’s anyone’s guess really. Curious to see what this leads to, with a promise it seems…unkept.
I’m sure the looks will reflect the change of music and story in their music. I’m looking forward to seeing what route they go down.

I don't think the band really cares, and like all miniscule things that get blown out of proportion, people will quickly get over it. Their tastes are also seriously in question if they think their previous Spririt Halloween masks were better than these new custom ones. Their new ones are incredibly detailed and help individulaize each member, something they each deserve.

I think why personally and why we have difficulty accepting the new masks is, like mentioned in the video, their attire was ominous, eerie giving us a sense of mystery and enigmatic which was something unique and special, something that was exciting for the audience. The new mask and attire is unfortunately something familiar in the sense where it take great inspiration from Slipknot. I believe it is seen as a step back as having the previous costume was a step forward in pushing forward new ground for music. We need to keep pushing forward and hopefully the artists can be true to themselves and not fall under societal pressure (Not saying sleep token was necessarily).

I find it hilarious that Sleep Token fans, one of the most blind fanbase to the point where there's no one with a bit of critical mind on their music, suddenly get far too much disappointed for...a visual aspect. I mean if even Sleep Token fans get mad of the band changing, where the heck the world is going haha ?
Now I personally love Sleep Token but they are a "vibe" band to me, meaning there will be some times where I really have no interest in listening to their music. The recent show at Wembley and the new masks giving an idea of a possible future direction got me into the hype again, but I do not think for example that Ascensionism is the best music ever written. That's too much.

It makes me think of when Christianity moved out of Judaism or came to fruition it adopted the garb of Roman ruling class. This is why the pope looks like he does and the priests yada yada. So as ST expands or comes more into fruition I think it will appropriate from the culture it’s invading. They have always had mask changes all of them. I’m actually hoping we’ll get some vesselets singing in the next record or records. For me it’s all very exciting. As long as the music stays robust and lush and gripping I’ll be a happy camper.

To the people who keep saying "the new maks mean heavier music" That is 100% COPE! ST are not a heavy band and never will be. The new mask look cool but do not match their identity at all. Just slipknot cosplayers.
They may not be heavy at all times, but they do have heavy moments, the themes are also heavy, the imagery, but we don't know what the future holds, they might be heavier, however their originality comes from embracing various genres anyway
